Your pet pictures can have transparent backgrounds now. If you do not choose a background colour on your pet's page, the image will have a transparent background (except on Internet Explorer 6 where it will have a white background). I'm already seeing lots of people who are posting their pets using this new code automatically - it looks great on the forum .
You can have a background colour other than white for visitors on IE 6 (and be transparent on newer browsers) by first choosing a background colour, then editing the code to add a flag which makes it transparent on everything but IE 6. For example, this code:

Produces this image in your browser:
(notice the &trans=1 tacked on the end, before the .jpg). It'll display as a nice soft-edged transparent PNG on IE 7 and upwards, and all other browsers. On IE 6 and older, the background won't be transparent, the background colour will be filled with the colour you selected. Here I've set the background for IE 6 users to be bright red.. .
