... IMO those are different colors, not just more faded. The out side of the wings in the new BW are brown, UR BW are black. I mean, if wings are the only thing you're going by... a lot of the BWs have similar wings, take a look in the archive.

Missed most the ponies and one of the owls D:

All of my owls grew into the first outcome. xD And I've missed, like seven or eight growths so far(including that gorgeous B-wolf D: </3 ).
So hoping I can re-open my seasonal icon shop for them.


I think the B-wolves more 'feel' similar than 'look' similar. Something about the softer coloration perhaps?

A lot of people, including myself, are speculating Tyr.
The shading style-- and line edits-- just seem very akin to her work.

I'm going to have to agree that these BWs look VERY alike.
But not because of the wings-- because, as people have pointed out, the wings often get reused.

What makes me see them as very similar is the colour choice. The colours are completely different, yes, but look how they go together. Both colours used on each wolf are very mute, with neither being very strong. The colours almost seem like they are on the same value setting, so that they're just very smoothly, and expertly, put together.
While normally you might have a deep red with a bright white belly for these guys, they BLEND completely here.

The patterns are also very distinct, yet simple.

Overall, very well made to both of them.

Neither do I honestly, aside from the very similiar wings they don't have anything in common.
But somehow they 'feel' similiar through the colours and the soft shading.
Like they're somehow from the same litter.
I absolutely adore all the BWs this month
