Welome to Coatikits Cove!! The main page (here!) has everything you need to know about us and our island. You are encouraged to join a raffle or do some bartering. Enjoy your stay!!

What are we?

We are UMAs (User Made Adopts) in the form of a coati and a crustacean! Our key characteristics include our long noses, stout, agile bodies, and our powerful lobster-like tails. We roam our island living peaceful lives in our bands, swimming in the tidepools, sleeping in trees, munching on fruits and playing in the ruins.

Where do we live?
Our island is a large, circular body of land in a vast
sea, with a large bay in the center, giving it a
crescent moon shape. Our island is dotted in
ancient ruins, covered in moss and vines. They
mostly reside deep within our woods, but a few
can be seen towering over the water in the
distance off the shore. We live all over the island,
you can't go far without running into a band of
us!

Traits!!
We are a very diverse species, not all of us have
lobster-like tails. You might find some of us with
more beastly traits exploring, but we're still
friendly! Some of us have extra chitin scales on
our shoulders and tails, like me! We use them
to steer underwater, and look bigger and scarier
when our bands get into squabbles. We are also
very adaptable... check out some of our
possible traits here!

Want some of us to join you on your adventures? We'd be thrilled to! Some of us are first come first serve- we love everyone. Some of us will join the victors of the raffles! And some of us are hiding away for now... but we can be summoned with a soul link found during exploration.

·✶· Crafting ·✶·

- Crafting items wont always work, so keep trying to combine stuff! You will not loose an item if you fail to craft with it.
- Your newly crafted item (or failed to craft message) will be posted in the thread, so check back occasionally to see your results.
- When you fail to craft something, you'll gain more info about what can and can't be crafted. But thats still not much to work on, especially just after launch. So for now, every 3 failed crafting attempts, you will receive one recipe for an available item.
- You may share crafting recipes you've discovered with anyone!
- You may try to craft with up to THREE items at a time. If any of those items can combine, they will!

Some big updates today!!
- The Beach Hunt 2025 Event is here!! Just in time for the end of summer. Run over to the event page with your Coatikits and grab one of the many shiny stones revealed by the receding tides...
- The price of Soul links in the Bartering Shack has gone up. The Coatikits running the stalls have seen the demand... and have raised the price accordingly. There is now a dye available for purchase as well.
- The latest raffle results are finally up! Check them out here. Sorry for the delays, we've been busy with explore and cove forms...
- We now have new times and dates for exploring. From 9/8/25 12AM CS Time forward, Explore will be open on:

> Wednesday 12AM - Wednesday 11:59 PM
> Saturday 12AM - Monday 12AM

The same as Pocket Myths (shoutout to them and _Q _!!) If that helps. Results will be posted in-between those times, with alerts on our discord sent out accordingly!

There are a lot more of you than anticipated, so to save staff time and prevent temporary explore shut-downs, we'll have scheduled days of the week for your Coatikits to search for items. Bear with us!!

Artist applications are open!

If you would like to make designs & help with new items and features, please apply! Im looking for 2-5 artists with a similar skill level to mine. For reference, these are my available examples:
- Artfight 2025
- Designs 2024 - 2025
- Pixel art 2024 - 2025

Expectations & Preferences

Activity:
You do not have to be super active! You must make one batch of 4-6 adopts, or 4-6 one offs, per month to remain an artist. Making more is obviously encouraged!

Base Edits:
This UMA is heavily focused around stacking traits & altering already existing designs, so artists who are comfortable with line edits are preferred. Some bases & features that add onto bases will be provided, but I need help making new ones too!

Design limits:
All design elements must not look out of place in a fantasy setting. When in doubt, artists can ask and I will approve or request changes to new base edits. Patterns that can be found on already existing animals are preferred. The colors you can use are not limited whatsoever!

Some examples of design elements allowed: Cryptid, animal, and mythical creature parts, size changes, added limbs, scars, extra eyes, tusks & antlers, fur length edits, small pose changes (tail pose, paw poses, ect.)

Some examples of edits not allowed: Cybernetic parts, modern clothing, changes to face shape (all other elements of the design can be changed), major pose changes, Scenes (a forest pattern with trees, a forground, ect.) instead of coat patterns, floating text, pop culture references.

You may use the same pattern/design in different colors a maximum on 6 times, to keep adopts unique. Small changes on each design are encouraged.

Adopts Needed:
There are two batches a week for raffles. I prefer they have connecting design elements, but a batch of one-offs is just fine every so often! I am always looking for designs to be found in exploration. I also give full permission to post as many adopts in the FCFS as you want! I will still be making designs of course!

Items:
Since almost all line edits are connected to items, if you want to make a new trait/set of traits, it will be connected back to an already existing item, or have a new one made to fit it. There is an artist-exclusive list of items with information in progress, and a full list of traits later down the line to reference and add to. I would love help coming up with new items and traits!

Rules

- Do may not sell your Coatikits for real money. You may trade them or sell them for CS, UMAS, ect. as long as the recipient has an archive.
- Do not edit any of the lines without permission, or claim them, or the designs, as your own.
- Link back to THIS post for credits both on CS and other sites.
- You may create your own unofficial Coatikits using your own lines. You may not use them to explore, pair them with other Coatikits, or trade them for "real" Coatikit designs. You may request them on the official lines if you use an item that would normally grant you a custom.
- No harassment of staff, other players, ect. Be nice.
- The rules are subject to change.

Strikes & Warnings

- If you break the rules on accident once or twice, no issue! You will be informed of your mistake and no other action will be taken as long as you fix your mistake.
- If you break the rules three times, or refuse to fix your mistake, you will be issued a formal warning.
- When rules are broken more than three times you will receive a strike each time. You get TWO strikes before a ban is issued.
- On the third strike, you will be banned. This means:

- You will not be allowed to participate in explore, raffles, events, or anything else on site.
- You will be allowed to keep your Coatikits, but they will effectively be frozen. Their record
will remain in our system, but no longer be eligible to be traded or used on the forums. You
may continue to use them as an oc.
- Any posts on the Coatikit forums made after the date of your ban will be removed.

These rules are here mostly for show, I don't expect to have to issue warnings or bans any time soon. Just use your better judgment, and you'll be just fine!
