• Please follow all CS rules and guidelines.
  
• Please be respectful to all staff and members of the community.
• Please do not contact members regarding offering for their cats/items unless an ad has been explicitly posted.
  
  If you are caught doing this, it is grounds for a ban depending on the severity.
• If you are banned from the species or CS itself, all your cats will be readopted, no questions asked.
• Please keep all your cats on one storage.
  
  You may have as many clans, ranks, etc in lore as you wish, but all your cats MUST be stored on one page for archive purposes.
• You must be on CS for at least 1 month and have 50 posts minimum to get a free starter.
  
  You can still participate in adopts and earn cats that way if you'd like!
• Your first cat will be readopted if you do not make a storage within 30 days.
  
  Your storage can be anywhere: in the Character Storage forum on CS, Toyhouse, Deviantart, or your own website! Please ensure that, regardless of which platform you choose, everything on it is CS appropriate.
• Using AI in any capacity is an immediate ban from the species. This includes for writing adopt prompts, challenges, and any art made by AI. AI is theft and will not be tolerated here.
• Users who are blocked by either of the owners may not participate in Genesis in any capacity, even if the other owner does not have them blocked.
  
  Understand that this is nothing against you personally, but is instead in favor of keeping owners comfortable. There are plenty of other ARPGs that would love to have you! Those who are blocked by staff who are not owners may still participate, but understand our staff members will never be forced to interact with those they do not feel comfortable with.
• If you are banned from CS or Genesis itself, you cannot use the Genesis lineart in any capacity. If an artist allows transfers, you must transfer your cat out - otherwise cats will be voided entirely.

GENERAL STAFF RULES:

• These rules might seem intimidating or strict at first glance - however, we promise that as long as you communicate and admit that you need help before it gets to a point where our community members are upset, you are just fine.
  
• Staff are expected to be polite to all members, regardless of personal feelings.
  
• Being in the Discord is appreciated, but not required.
• Staff should always communicate if they need help with a backlog of work - communication is key!
• All staff, regardless of position, receive 1 personal uncommon custom OR 1 personal nursery batch per month of activity [litters are rolled for by another member of staff].
  
  In the event you have overdue work due, you cannot redeem your monthly PB or Custom.
• Please try to avoid taking on work that you do not have time for!
• If we do not hear from you for 30 days, you will be suspended from staff (with the possibility of returning). If we do not hear from you 30 days after your suspension, you will be removed from staff and not allowed back. Just a simple message explaining that you're busy currently will more than suffice - life comes first! If you need a break as well, please don't hesitate to say so. We understand.

ARTISTS:

• Artists are given a 1-uncommon trait MYO upon hire.
  
• Artists are expected to complete all work within 30 days of claiming. This includes starters, customs, breedings, runner ups, and judging competitions. Let a moderator or owner know if you cannot complete something, preferably before it's overdue.
  
• Artists may take on customs for compensation each month. Artists may decide their own rates, but must start at a baseline of 30 C$ or pet equivalent.
  
  Whenever an artist opens customs, they are expected to take at least 1 free one; either one for Honorable Mentions or nothing.
• Artists can issue everyone in a competition runner ups. HOWEVER, they are banned from posting any other cats [with the exception of previously accepted work] until those runner ups are completed.
• Artists may not issue cat runner ups if they have overdue work. They can, however, issue runner ups in the form of MYOs matching the rarity of the original cat.
• Whenever an artist accepts a nursery litter, they must complete the growths prior to posting the kits.

WRITERS:

• Writers are given a Common MYO upon hire.
  
• Writers will be given tasks whenever the moderator or owner needs something done - this includes writing for events, creating forms, drafting announcements for the community, and designing new challenges.
  
• Writers activity is unpredictable and based on need. As such, writers are granted staff activity points per item that they write. Word count is factored in.

GUEST ARTISTS:

• Guest artists are given a Common MYO upon hire.
  
• Guest artists are given 1 month terms to post adopts and claim starters in.
  
• All cats must be approved by a permanent staff member, to ensure the edit list is accurate.
• Even after a term ends, Guest Artists are responsible for growing any kits and judging any competitions that are pending. You should not take on more than you can finish within a month of acceptance. Once a guest artist's term ends, they should add one of the owners [Dimi. or Adamented] to the canvas of litters, just in case the guest artist forgets to grow them in the future.
• Guest artists are prohibited from giving cat runner ups for competitions period. You can, however, give out honorable mentions, which can be used in our shop!

MODERATORS:

• Moderators are given an 1-uncommon trait MYO upon hire.
  
• Moderators are responsible for looking at all threads related to the ARPG, and answering any questions that pop up.
  
• Moderators may be asked to carry out tasks of other roles in the event a staff member needs help.
• Chat levels will vary across all platforms - as such, moderators will receive a flat rate of activity points per week of activity [answering at least 1 question, making 1 post on the fan club, etc]. This can be increased if a certain week was particularly busy, but never decreased.
• Moderators are expected to address concerns without bias.
  
  In the event a conflict includes your friend, please do not contribute to a conversation if you know you may be biased. Do not pass on private information to your friends either.

ARCHIVISTS:

• Archivists are given a 1-uncommon trait MYO upon hire.
  
• Archivists are responsible for tracking clans, levels, who owns which cats, and reminding artists to judge competitions if they exceed 1 month.
  
• Archivists are also expected to remind all staff members when they have overdue work coming up, and tracking who is currently working on what.
• Archivists are given a flat rate of activity points per week of activity.
• Archivists are expected to update the archive in a timely manner. In the event an archivist is unable to update the archive, they should let another archivist or the owners know, so that it may be taken over.

General Trading Rules:

• The Trading form on the archive must be filled out, otherwise a trade is not considered official.
  
• Both parties, whether trading or gifting, MUST be Level 1.
  
• All cats in trades or gifts must have been owned for 30 days.
  
  The only exception to this rule is if a kitten from a breeding is being gifted, in which case they may be gifted immediately; BUT they may not be traded.]
• Both parties must post on the oekaki thread of all cats involved in a trade.
• Cats cannot be sold for real life money.
• Starters are account locked and may never be traded.
• Genesis Cats cannot be traded, sold, or gifted to someone banned from the species.
• Cats by official artists on the main pages may not be traded, gifted, or sold to someone the artist has blocked.
• Before making a trade deal or starting on art/writing, the person who is receiving the cat(s) must post on the cat's thread.

Trading Cats obtained for Free [Breedings, Gifting, & Adopts/Runner Ups]:

• Cats obtained through free means CANNOT be traded for CS pets or C$.
  
• Cats obtained through free means CAN be traded for Genesis items, art, and other premade cats.
  
• This rule has 1 exception: if you have ordered art for a cat since obtaining them, you may sell them at the total value of the art; UNLESS this is against an artist's Terms of Services. Please note that if you pay USD for art, it's value will be converted into C$. In the event an archivist has reason to believe you lied about the value of art, they may request proof before confirming a trade.

Trading Cats obtained through Purchase [Trading, Bought MYOs, Customs]:

• You may resell cats for the value at which you purchased them.
  
• You may only sell for additional C$ in the event that you have commissioned art of them (unless against the commisoned artists TOS). Otherwise, trades should NEVER exceed the MYO or custom equivalent.
  
• If you bought a cat through a trade, you may resell it at the exact same value; archivists will check!

What if I forget to claim my starter, can I request another one?

• No. If you forget to claim your starter, you will have to win one through a competition or purchase a custom. However, you will receive a 24 hour warning to claim your starter!

Why are starters account-locked?

• Starters are account locked because our artists take a lot of time to make them personalized to you. We encourage you to be as specific with your starter form as possible if you tend to be picky for this reason.

How do I become staff?

• Check out the Staff Search page! We will always post both in Discord and here on the main page when we need more staff. You just need to fill out the appropriate form(s), and if we believe you're a good fit, we'll contact you and go from there.

I have a question; who do I ask?

• If it isn't answered here, you are more than welcome to ask in our Discord, or you can post here on the main page - a staff member will reply as soon as they see it! If it is more urgent/private, please DM a moderator or one of the owners.

Something has taken over a month to complete - what do I do?

• We have things on the backend to track what is overdue - however, please still contact us! We are human and sometimes gloss over things. We will keep you as updated as we can on owed work.

I want to transfer a cat(s) out of Genesis - how do I go about this?

• Firstly, check the [url=xxx]Artist Hub[/url], and find the artist who created your cat. Each post will list whether or not an artist allows transfers. If they allow cat transfers, you are good to go without asking! We want to save as much time as possible for you.
  
• When you transfer a cat out, you can no longer use them within Genesis functions [i.e. nursery], and you may no longer utilize the Genesis base reference. A transfer out is only considered complete whenever the new reference is created.
  
• Once both of the above steps are complete, head over to the Archives and fill out the "Transferring Out" form! Once an archivist sees it, verifies the cat is on a new reference, and that the artist allows transfers out, they will confirm it by posting on the cat's original thread to mark the cat as Void/Deceased!

Artists are allowed and encouraged to accept customs! Whenever an artist opens slots, this is the form that you will fill out! However, please read the below information prior to doing so.

Artists are also allowed to pick their own prices based on difficulty - what one artists finds difficult, another may not. Check out the [url=xxx]Artist Hub[/url] to see all of our current artists custom information! They will link this on each opening, but it's good to look over if you're planning custom cats!

You may only receive 1 custom cat per month, resetting on the 1st of every month in CS time.

CUSTOM TYPES:
- Random; artist chooses all aspects; you may list edits you do NOT want, but otherwise the artist has free reign.
- Semi; you can choose the coat color and 1 edit; you may list edits you do not want, but otherwise artist has free reign.
- Full; you choose every detail of your custom - coat, edits, etc.

CUSTOM EDITS:
- Customs may only have up to common edits. Any edits beyond that require the use of an item purchased from our shop or earned elsewhere.
