firstly, it’s because gecko’s the kind of guy who’s overly confident + complacent, and he’s also got a huge ego.

another reason is because of his huge ego, he tends to relax and laze around camp since he thinks he’ll be able to catch like 10 pieces of prey in less than 30 mins just right before night falls.
also he’s kind of a procrastinator, always hunting at the last minute.
