While Condor may seem like he does, this tom does not hold a lot of resentment in his heart. Yet all the resentment that he does have to give, have been siphoned toward Giovanni. He despises his dinky little sword and his stupid rope ties around his legs. Hates his air headedness and his sensitive nature, he finds him stupid and detestable. He hates his pathetic dreams of the renaissance and woeful attempts are heroism. Condor pities the other tom, it was sad his dreamy gaze when he polishes his small dagger or when he looks longingly at his reflection in the water. There was no doubt in his mind that the tom was in his own fantasy world half of the time, and it was sad. Condor doesn't just dream of being a hero, he knows that he is one unlike the other tom with the stupid fur-cut. He isn't afraid to give his life where he doesn't think Giovanni is brave enough, he has no clue why Mochi decides to keep him around when he is nothing but dead weight to the group. And finally, he hates that he thinks he may be in love with the tom.

Kali has a hatred for his dad, SnowDrop. Snowdrop abadoned him, his sickly mother and his littermates after an intense arguement. After that day, things were never really the same to them, their mother dying 2 moons after and his sibbling dying slowly due to disease transmitted by their mom since she was still sick during preganancy. Of course, Kali was affected by this illness too, having them randomly become sick out of nowhere. Kali blames his dad for all of the misery he had to endure at only 4-5 moons old and for abadoning him as a whole.

the tom often ruminates on the high priest's actions- how could he not, after all the time he's served the coven as a member of the divine synod? this is his home. his life. heart cannot fathom how such a pathetic tom has become the high priest under corvinus herself. sage ' fire came into power young, feeble-minded, inexperienced in the ways of this heavy world, and heart is not patient enough to guide him. he is not an emotional cat, but something about sage ' fire makes his very core burn with irritation. from the way he pompously speaks and whispers so secretively to dark ' snow, to the way he oh-so-nervously carries himself, an energy that even a cat blind to the world can pick up, insecure and anxious about this and that... a total mess that boy is, a bundle of nerves with no experience in leadership and a dependency on his best friend.

how can someone like that truly be good for the coven's wellbeing? heart has served the coven for a long time, and he very much intends to keep it that way, even- especially- while under sage ' fire's priesthood. while heart does try to keep in mind that sage ' fire likely has good intentions, there is something about the utter frailty of the other tom that makes heart angry. bitter, even. why, sage ' fire hadn't ever served in the synod, how could he be a high priest? for a long time, heart was positive that the gods had made a mistake. surely.. surely.. right?

but speaking that aloud would count as blasphemy against the raven's great word. how could a god be in err? heart holds his contempt deep within, but one day the dam is bound to burst..

Slayer, Redemption, and Embodiment used to be part of a larger adventuring company together. All until that one fateful day…

The massive dragon’s roar shook the stone of the cave as his fire just barely missed Reedy. Emb hissed in frustration. “He’s not listening!” it said to its companions. “I don’t want to have to use a charm on him, but if it’s the only way…”

Reedy nodded. “I’ll go distract him.” Mley jumped down in front of the dragon, shouting taunts and posturing as if mley were about to attack, but never actually striking.

Slayer stood concealed behind the two cats, sizing up the dragon from a distance. Those two imbeciles thought they could convince a young red dragon to “leave peacefully” and “stop eating villagers”. Of course it wasn’t going to work! The only harmless dragon was a dead dragon. She prepared a smiting spell and took her sword out, ready to strike when needed.

Reedy had, surprisingly, managed to run the dragon around without getting hurt. Unfortunately, that was because he had set its sights on a new target: Emb. He bowled it over with a great claw strike, and the magic fizzled out of its paws uselessly. “Snap, that was my last spell!” it bemoaned.

A tail swipe sent Reedy hurling into the cave wall with a terrifying thud, and Slayer jumped into action. She charged at the dragon, unleashing all the magic she had in her in one single slashing blow. It struck the dragon’s unprotected stomach, and he let out a great screech. In his last moments, he lashed out with his claws, catching her eye and blinding her.

A restoration spell (paid for with the treasure from the dragon’s hoard) restored her vision, but Slayer kept the scar as a memory of what happened. A renegade struck out on her own, she slays any monster that threatens the kingdoms but she saves a special hatred for dragons, and of course the two “traitorous worms” who she believes were allied with chromatic dragonkind all along. (Not too far-off an assumption…)
