There is no co-owning between users.

Improper use (copying, tracing, referencing, etc) of the design/lineart will result in a ban.

All CS rules apply, including harassment, spamming, and flaming.

All payments should be sent ASAP.
If it passes the 24hr threshold, it will be put up for readoption.
If non-payment is repetitive, the user may be banned.

Do not send your trade until I have asked to do so.

Trading Bao for another Bao, species item, myo/custom slots is fine. Selling for profit is not.

No limit on the amount of Bao you can have, but please try not to AB two Bao in a row!

Legend goes that Huì Bǎo(慧宝) were born from fallen stars.
Every time a wish was made on a falling star, an essence of life was whispered into celestial fragments, creating the Huì Bǎo.

Huì Bǎo (singular and plural), or often called Bao for short, were thought to be creatures of fairy tales.
There is a tale passed from one generation to another in a mountainous rural town. Long time ago, an ancient Bao developed a friendship with the said ancestors of the town. The town was struggling from an insufferable drought that stole away their ways of life, but still welcomed its foreign visitor with a warm place to stay and a humble meal. Grateful for the sweet nature of the townspeople, the Bao bestowed rain and brought blessings to the harvest. When this story was traveled throughout the country and caught the attention of a King, the mysterious Bao disappeared - never to be seen again.

Little less did people know that these celestial creatures still walks disguised amongst the most bustling of the cities and in the depths of an untouched forest. Throughout the conflicts in human history, Bao have managed to keep to escape discovery since the written language began.

Huì Bǎo are intelligent and compassionate beings with complex relationship with humans. Some obviously have a particular soft spot for the high emotional and fragile species, but the others could care less about the destructive and rash nature of them. Bao are laced with magic (perhaps the origin story was true after all?) and they develop their powers as they are able to change their forms.

Bao are all born in Dormant state. Once they are able to properly navigate the basic powers that all Bao are born with, they are able to change into their Awakened state. This is the most common form, and many Bao are perfectly satisfied in this form, hiding in the forgotten wilderness.

Very few Bao are able to develop into their Seraph form. It is said that these Bao are able to wield specialized powers such as the one told in the story of an ancient Bao - but not much is known about them due to the limited amount of Bao that reach this stage. Seraph Bao are able to hide in human cities by changing into a human form, disguising their horns, ears, tails, wings, etc.

Besides the Seraph Bao that have chosen to live amongst the humans, most of the Bao live in small communities or choose to be independent wanderers. They keep to themselves, living in peace and quietly helping lost travelers!

++Huì Bǎo's Physical Description
Bao stand at an average height of a large wolf, but it is not uncommon to see variation in their physical size. They have sensitive ears that stand up at rest and has a velvety inner ear. Average horns are curved around their ears and stop around their eye level. Their eyes are keen and bright, and commonly have slitted pupils. Their fur is very soft and almost silky to the touch, and holds heat well. They have retractable claws, which can range in size, and have dewclaws to help their outdoor adventures. Their metacarpal pad is heart shaped! Their tail is about the length from their shoulder to the base of their tail. Their tails are strong and could be described as partially prehensile. They can't fully grasp items, but can be used to knock things down and defend themselves from other creatures of the wild.

Their Heartgem reflects the overall health and the magic status of the Bao. Healthy Bao hosts a vibrant gem that almost seems to emit a small glow/sparkle. If a Bao is heavily injured or their magic has been depleted, their gems are dull and lacks the usual glow/sparkle. Bao who have "lost their way" - as in using their magic to hurt other Bao and beings - displays a cracked of the gem that has lost it's original color. Their gems are a channel to control their magic, as exemplified in their Flightgems that appear around their shoulder when they display their wings. Their wings are fully 'retractable', which comes in handy when they are running through a thick forest or going for a swim in a lake!

F A Q

✫ What do you mean for-profit?
This means that most of the adopts will be for adopted for C$ / CS pets / USD.
Free Bao adopts will most commonly be given out through Discord events.

✫ What are the artist/mod/staff benefits?
Staff benefits will be listed in the post where I'm looking for Artists!

✫ Can I be staff?
If the apps are open, go ahead and apply! If not, sorry I am not looking for any staff at the moment.

✫ What happens in the livestreams? When do you stream?
Usually you get to see me make Bao adopts!
Some Bao adopts will be only available through the streams.
I am EST time zone and usually announce a day or two ahead of the stream time.

✫ Are there any honorable mentions? Runner ups?
At the moment there are no plans to add a hm/ru system.

✫ Is there a cap on adopting a Bao?
As of Dec. 23, 2021, there is no cap. However, if you won the previous Bao, you are not allowed to purchase* another right after.
* If it is not for profit adopt, feel free to join in!

✫ How come there is only 1 Bao available for adopt at a time?
I spend a lot of time creating my Bao designs, and I feel that it is easier to organize and properly allow everyone a chance at the Bao. Main thread will likely only have 1 Bao available to adopt at a time, but there might be another Bao available through Discord or a Livestream.

✫ Where do I credit you for the design? Can I take them off-species?
You can credit my (kivr) designs at shybele @ twitter. At the moment, I prefer you to NOT take them off-species. If you do want to change the design/take them off of the species - please send me a private message on discord or CS.
