So, we all know those books and lists that are the top movies to watch before you die. So, I’ve decided to go ahead and make one. But, I’ll make it based off of people’s votes.
So, how does this work? Just post a list of what you think are some of the best movies, it can be as long a list as you like. And based on how many votes each movie gets I’ll rank it and make our own list of movies to watch before you die.

Basically gonna give the same opinion I gave on the Sci-Fi thread since my scope of genres isn't very broad

A personal favorite of mine has always been and will always be District 9 for stunning character design and a well written plot that tackles actual real world issues.

The original Aliens movie and A Quiet Place are also great for horror movies, with A Quiet Place being the only modern horror movie that's managed to actually put me on edge while also utilizing a unique premise that brings a lot of tension to the story. While not particularly scary, the rest of the Aliens, Predator, and AvP series are definitely worth watching. The Host is a good horror movie as well, but it's more of a satire on common horror tropes than anything. I'd also suggest Pacific Rim, Kong Island, Power Rangers (2017), and Rampage for Kaiju movies due to their great visuals and just all around fun natures - they aren't exactly the most well written things in existence, but they're enjoyable to watch just from the standpoint of giant things punching each other. James Cameron's Avatar is another great one for visual design, if that's your thing, though it falls a bit short for me by being too upfront about its message and essentially directly lifting its plot from plenty of other 'noble savage' stories. I'm also gonna second Iron Giant (great writing, appealing visual style), The Shape of Water (all around great), and Jurassic Park and related movies (despite my PLETHORA of issues with the presentation of dinosaurs in these movies and the resulting effect on modern perception of dinosaurs, I will concede that the animatronic work in these movies, as well as the plots in most of them, are well done). While not exactly up my alley, I also wouldn't be a living human being if I didn't mention Monty Python and the Holy Grail for being the best comedy I've ever watched or Nightmare Before Christmas and Kubo and the Two Strings for being gorgeous stop animation films with gorgeous soundtracks.
