Spring
Spring is here! During spring, birthings will be smooth and the chances of mothers or children dying during birth will drop dramatically. There is also a higher chance of catching more prey or finding new people and skilled animals looking for shelter, and the odds of sickness will drop.

The day is nice. No clouds are in the sky, the prey is out and about, and the few breezes coming through offer relief from the hot sun.

From now on, all of my villages who have passed their fasting days will have to mention exactly what they are consuming in the summary actions so that I know. In addition, I'm going to be giving the correct hair colors from now on. Sorry 'bout that.

of souls. connecting their queue to other living things is called tsaheylu, a

stated above (to the right), when a trainee performs tsaheylu to an ikran,
it is permanent, and no other rider can connect with that ikran, and neith
er can they. the na'vi can contact eywa for help, or to heal. they also con

em. the woodsprites are seeds of the tree of souls, and in the occurrence

the kaokay's most popular and main mode or transport is by u
sing their ikrans. when without them, they will ride the nativ
e direhorses, but they are less effective to get off of the mou
ntains. when a young na'vi goes to connect tsheylu with their
ikran, it is a very special moment, as it their rite of passage i
nto becoming a hunter/warrior. this time is called the iknima
ya, meaning the performance of connecting the queue with t
he antennae of the ikran, then performing their first flight. w
hen this is complete, the rider and ikran are bound for life. if
this process does not go as planned, then the na'vi will die; th
e ikran will kill them. a hunter's or warrior's life among these
dangerous lands is no different from the life of a soldier in th
e battlefield ⏤ they are constantly fighting for their lives an

It was a lazy day today and for the most part the village could relax. Celeste and Ida were still settling in but were fitting in well. Today, Emma was helping them sort out things. Celeste danced around the room, placing pots and jars of various sizes on the shelf. Ida was sorting out clothes while Emma helped in any way she could. Around the room were plants hanging up.

"What are these for?" Emma asked.
"Decoration! Oh, and they can be used for cooking too," Celeste replied.
"Oh, I see." She looked at them curiously.
"You can take some if you like," Ida offered.
"Ah, no! I just thought they looked nice!" she wailed, waving her arms in the air.
"If you say so..." she grumbled and went back to what she was doing. In silence, they continued to sort through their things until it was all finished. Celeste stood back and clapped her hands.

"All done! Now it looks comfortable enough for us to live in!"
"It does like nice," Emma smiled.
"Thanks! Feel free to visit anytime!" she squeaked. Emma nodded and decided to keep that in mind. Ida picked up a laundry basket and huffed.
"I'll be outside," she bluntly said.
"Bye, Grandma! Have fun!" Celeste shouted after her. Afterwards, Celeste invited Emma to have a seat and have some tea. She refused but after some insisting from Celeste, she reluctantly sat down. Celeste smiled and made the tea. She swayed her hips side to side as it brewed. When it finished, she sat aside from Emma and gave her a cup of tea. Together they drank it quietly. Celeste put her cup back on the table.

"You know, Ida might be a little cold and grumbly at times but she is a good person," she said out of the blue.
"Oh, hmm," Emma replied and looked to her feet.
"It might take some time but I'm sure she'll get used to you. And the others too."
Emma looked up.
"Maybe if you helped us out from time to time you might get on her good side," she smiled.
"I don't want to be a bother..."
"Chill out! You'll be useful and you're welcome here anyway," she said. "At least you're not like Alex and Marvis. I don't think she will ever like them that much, ahaha!" Emma softly chuckled.
"Well, okay... I'm here if you ever need anything," she smiled.
"Awesome!" Celeste squealed and reached over to hug her. She was going to suggest they read her books together when they heard Alina's voice. It sounded like she said Emma's name...

"Ah, Alina needs me! I'll see you later then," she said and stood up.
"Ah, sure! Bye for now!" she waved as Emma ran out the door. Once she was gone, Celeste put the tea set away. Then she walked over to her bookshelf in the living room.

"Now then, what should I read today?"

Alyia was hunched over a book. She rested her chin on her palm and flipped a page in boredom. She enjoyed reading but she didn’t really feel like doing it right now. The shutting of a door made her turn around. Delki stood outside his house, fixing his coat, clearly ready to go somewhere. Maybe she should see what he was planning? That sounded like a good idea. So, the shaman shut the book, marking her page for later, and exited her hut, approaching Delki curiously.

"A rock!" exclaimed Seanni as she hovered over N'reg. The bronzerider was sitting on a chair in Shollun's office as the healer looked at the sprained ankle. "You sprained your ankle, tripping over a rock!"

"Well, it was a big one," said N'reg defensively, "and I didn't see it there. I'm sorry if I'm as clumsy as a grounded dragon on occasion. And it isn't that bad, right?" He looked at Shollun for confirmation but the healer simply stared for a few moments before turning back to his work of splinting the ankle.

Seanni huffed. "You should have been more careful," she admonished. "What would happen to Predath if you can't be there for him?"

I'd be fine, grumbled the great bronze privately to N'reg. I can get Eshni and the fire-lizards to bathe me.

N'reg's lips twitched with amusement. Do you think that Eshni would make a good dragonrider? he asked. The girl certainly had the talent for many things, caring for dragons included.

The bronze, who was lying in the sun outside, paused for a moment before speaking. Possibly, he replied. She may have the sensitivity but it all comes down to the dragon.

The dragon decides, the rider complies,[/color] thought N'reg to himself. The mantra held true in most aspects of the bond, especially during mating flights, but even then if the weyr or weyrhold decided as a whole that they preferred one bronzerider (and rare brownrider) as the Weyrleader, his dragon would be more likely to catch the queen. Sparky yipped and ran after a small creature. Abesses had the longest legs of the three humans and caught up to the fox first. "Just a trundlebug," he called back to his companions.

Nitia rolled. "Why Seanni spared the cub in the first place is beyond me."

"Borrin is a good animal trainer," said Abesses defensively. "And Sparky is better than he was when we first rescued him."

Ayal chuckled, her voice deeper than most women's. "Borrin seems to be very adept with animals for a Farmercrafter."

"He is," said Abesses, a smile sliding up his face. "The Beastcraft lost a potential master when Borrin went into farming. But he's excellent at both, and he's been keeping the fields green for many turns now."

Sparky barked and shot off, chasing a scent only a fox could smell. The three hunters sighed and ran after the red blur again.

Tugall's face was green. This was rather unfortunate as Jesni and Boldosh were operating their sailboat, the same one that had been bought so many turns ago. Baridna, on the other hand, was thouroughly enjoying the breeze.

"Alright, everyone!" shouted Jesni over the wind. "We're almost there!"

Thank Faranath, thought Tugall with a mental groan. Why had he decided to go fishing? The travel from North down South had been bad enough and this trip couldn't be over soon enough.

Eshni was very diligent in her task of gathering redfruit that had grown ripe enough to fall to the ground. The adults were picking the ripe fruits still on the trees but the girl was content in picking up the remainder.

Renolla smiled. Everyone wanted Eshni to join their trade, their Craft. But Jesni and Ershar (along with Seanni and N'reg) were adamant that the girl have some choice. So far, she had shown interest in being a Harper, fisher, or dragonrider. Ershar would have loved someone else to join him on the fields but eventually, there would be more farmers to help. Just as there would be more Harpers, more healers, and more of every other Craft that Seanni was dedicated to bring into the weyrhold.

Renolla tugged on the bond between her and Etasi, forcing the fire-lizard queen to drink the blood of the fish rather than consuming the meat. It was a much easier process than a true dragon flight seemed to be, and the headwoman was privately relieved. She had no interest in mindless...anything. And certainly not involuntary anything. Fire and Zor rose from nearby, chasing her gold with loud squawks and chirps. Time seemed to lose all meaning and the three people, two men and one woman, stood quietly side by side, heads glancing upwards as they followed the movement with their eyes and hearts. Eventually, Renolla turned and took a step towards Abesses. She then shook her head and stepped back. He too, had an odd look on his face.

everyone knows the tale of ragnorak━━when the sun and moon is
eaten by haiti and skoll━━when all the gods have their final reign
━━when the earth is burnt to a crisp and everything goes to die i
n the waters. everyone thought that this was the last of the earth,
but they were proven wrong when the land once again reemerged
from the dark, murky ocean waters and burst into life for a rebirth
. not all is dead, one god materializes over this empty world, risin
g to power. he has the grand idea of recreating the superior life on
ce more, the humans, but he has another creation━━the lycans..
and so with his creative whim, he remakes humans, but also makes
lycans━━anthropomorphic canines. with the anatomy of a human
but the characteristics of a canine, the lycans rule alongside the h
umans, though neither of them have been fond of each other. the f
irst remade humans were jealous of the lycans' abilities, with their
inhuman senses and predatory advantages. the lycans seem to adv
ance more in life than the humans, adapting better in this new wo
rld. one certain time, the rivalry between the lycans and humans g
et out of hand,,, and the god who created them━known as lykos━
gets too irritated by their hatred of each other, giving them curses
of horrible qualities. humans, already being so weak, are made so f
eeble to the point of being incapacitated. lycans are given more as
pects of a canine, but they are not the good kind━━lycans have a
worrisome thirst for blood without control over it, and every twelv
e moons, they are forced to go into a belligerent rage that can be d
eadly to not only humans and other animals, but their own kind too.
these traits were supposed to make humans and lycans get along, b
ut maybe it all wasn't a good idea. still, lycans are the stronger race
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
in later years, the adolphen empire came about. this empire is still e
xisting today and rules over much of adolphe today. having grown in s
ize and become more vicious and powerful.. both lycans and humans
are seemingly dominant and potent, having to fight to get to their cu
rrent positions. even though lycans and humans rule here, its mainly
the lycans that have all this omnipotence. the people and lycans of u
nder the adolphen reign live in fairly decent houses made of wood to
protect them from the bitterness of adolphe's seasons. they usually w
ear fur coats and thick cotton in the winter and autumn, and switch t
o silk and thin fabric clothing in the spring and summer. lycans and hu
mans are expected to do their jobs and pay taxes, or there will be con
sequences from the emperor or empress. the follows under adolphe ge
t along by telling tales of mythical beasts and stories of gods, demigod
s and humans to people━━most people of adolphe believing in reiken
(fictional) mythology or being atheists━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

adolphe was originally a small land that was said to be created by
one of the new deities, areic, who is sometimes said to be seen w
andering around his creation today in the form of a over-sized whi
te wolf, named athens━━who is his separated wolf form that has
a mind of its home, areic only sees through the wolves eyes and h
as no control of its body, but part of its mind.. it is said that areic
had lost his human and anthropomorphic form long ago, and is tra
pped in the body of athens who was originally his wolf form but n
ow has a mind of its own━━seemingly possessed by a spirit or ph
antom. those who are next to athens and areic are said to feel shi
vers down their spines and the constant feel that they are being w
atched, even though they may not be necessarily watching them..
areic, before being trapped, had created adolphe by soiling the la
nd and rising it up, creating the famous mountains known as the s
kolly mountains. he grabbed the water from the ocean and remov
ed it of its salinity, dragging his finger through the dirt to suppose
dly make the freshwater bodies of water. lycans and humans were
said to be given the dream of this place, being as divine as heaven
itself back then, and had felt the overbearing need to come here
and start a new life━━and so some of them did and it was given
the name adolphe. the land of adolphe had grown tremendously i
n size since its prehistoric beginnings━━its named landforms and
water sources consist of the skolly mountains, the pool of nadia, s
alem woods and the ryndale dip. more acres of land has been adde
d to adolphe itself but they hold no significant importance.

ash was exploring the thickly wooded forest surrounding the castle when she caught the scent of another wolf. the she-wolf immediately stuck her nose higher in the air, hoping to catch the scent better. she didn't recognize the smell, so it wasn't any of the wolves she knew from the small pack that lived in these woods. ash cautiously crept forwards, following the odor. eventually, after turning a corner, she found a chocolate she-wolf eating some berries under the shelter of a tree's branches. while the she-wolf seemed relaxed, her gaze instantly snapped in her direction and ash felt a chill ripple through her entire body. she'd experienced this feeling before, each time when she met another shapeshifter. the other wolf apparently underwent the same thing, as she abandoned her food and got to her feet. ash noticed a few non-verbal cues from the way she stood that indicated she was friendly and not a threat. 'you're a shifter too, aren't you?' the hazel wolf asked. ash smiled and changed to her human form, promptly followed by the stranger. her lips were a soft pink that contrasted well with her mocha-colored skin. her eyes were brown, but contained thousands of different shades. her hair was mess, as was her clothes. her shirt was ripped and slightly wet while her jeans had specks of dirt and mud all over them. 'my name is ashley, but please call me ash,' she said, trying to ignore the grime spread all over her clothes, 'what's yours?' 'alyssa. it's nice to meet you.' a grin illuminated her face and ash gladly returned it. 'so umm... what happened to you and your clothes?' ash didn't want to be rude, but her curiosity got the best of her. lucky for her, alyssa appeared to be a person who wasn't ruffled easily, as she chuckled as she looked down at her dirty jeans. 'let's say i wasn't very careful and i uh... fell in a river.' ash couldn't hold back an amused snort and alyssa gave her a falsely offended look. 'come back to my place, i'll lend you some clothes.' alyssa nodded and the pair walked forwards, chatting merrily. they ended up having quite a lot in common and quickly became friends. alyssa explained that she lived in a cottage with her family. they were shifters too and had decided to live in reclusion, to avoid being discovered. she spoke of her family with a smile on her face but when ash asked why she had left, it disappeared in a heartbeat. instantly regretting being so nosy, ash apoligized but alyssa assured it was nothing. 'just a stupid fight. i needed to leave for a while,' she'd said. accepting her friend's answer, ash changed the subject and their lively chat resumed. they reached the castle in no time and alyssa fell silent. ash watched her with obvious amusement and removed a brick from a nearby wall. she took a rusted key that was hidden in the nook it left and used it to open a secret door hidden behind a wall of ivy. after putting back the key in it's hiding place, ash turned around to see alyssa still admiring the volkov castle with awestruck eyes. 'are you coming?' 'YOU LIVE IN A CASTLE?!'

''What kind of name is Pran?'' scorned Chandra, meeting the wood elf's basilisk-like gaze without a care. ''You should give him something that sounds powerful, like Artemio.'' He suggested, nodding slowly. ''Artemis is the goddess of the moon and the hunt, what better name for a future hunter than to be named after her?''

Wearily swiping at the gatherer, Stella held her son close to her. ''Pran Ivyclaw is his father, and it's not a bad name.'' She kissed the baby gently on the head, allowing him to coo and cling to her. ''...he died, Chandra.'' Stella glanced up at the startled gatherer, slowly rising to unsteady legs and hobbling off. ''But no...Artemio is a good name.''

Blinking in astonishment, Chandra darted after Stella and grabbed for her arm. ''I...I'm sorry!'' Flush with humiliation and pallid with horror, Chandra stepped in front of her and grimaced. ''I didn't realize, I'm so sorry.'' Shaking his head and fumbling for words, glancing over Stella's shoulder to the rest of the village, who offered no means of solace or advice.

''No, no...Artemio is a good name.'' Stella grit her teeth, pushing the young man to one side. ''No harm done.'' She sniffled, disappearing into the dark. ''Leave me alone, you buffoon.'' The wood-elf added, snatching herself and the baby away. In her wake, stood Chandra, surrounded by a crowd of disappointed villagers.

''Nice going.'' growled Sitara, pursing her lips into a thin line. ''Real sensitive.'' The shapeshifter muttered, padding after her friend.When Chandra attempted to follow, Ayberk and Leo grabbed for his shoulders and quietly held him back, unable to meet Chandra's eyes.
