The kits skipped around the middle of the crater in warm sunlight of dawn. The fog completely disappeared and the group savored the warm sun light unsure if it was a one time occurrence or not. Mellohi had sent all of her vindicators and nimrods out to lavish in the clear air. The Opal, Seniors, Kits and the Monarchs that were currently present gathered under the shade of the center pillar. They were chatting amongst themselves, getting to know the new elder that had arrived, while the kits scrambled around each other, obviously excited to have new playmates next moon. Mellohi had received a few messages from around the clan that Chai may have to make a journey to Kitty. Everyone was still a tad confused why Kitty hadn't came back to do any other medical things but the Opal made it clear to leave her alone since she probably has a reason. The clan decided that after this patrol, Chai will make her way to Kitty.

----A lull in ChaosClan's chaotic life (finally?). But Twigstorm catches the hint of something sinister on the horizon... He works with Crowcatcher to deliver a prophecy to their friends and family.
--Cicadastar and Raptorstar are a little too formal with each other, but their leading styles seem to coincide nicely. They discuss the rank changes and enact them, choosing their own captains and allowing Mockingbirdcry to remain as the sole deputy.
--Blackbirdshriek is upset at his mother's choice, as she had always told him that he would grow to be leader. Mockingbirdcry does what he can to repair their damaged relationship, but Blackbirdshriek holds grudges pretty well, much like their late mother. The stress is getting to the four littermates, and the brothers turn away from each other and seek others for comfort...
--Terrapinpaw feels disconnected from all the other cats, not really fitting in with the older apprentices and feeling too old to interact with Cascadefreckle's kits... He ends up running into Kitepaw, who feels the same way now that her siblings and best friends are warriors and she is still a -paw. They strike up a friendship.
--Cinnamonflight and Marshminnow share a quiet moment together, celebrating Marshminnow's new leadership position. Atlasrain is quick to congratulate the tom as well, saying he always thought Marshminnow was a better leader than he ever was. The past patrols that Atlasrain was in charge of still weight heavily on the tom's mind, and the small friend group reflects on their fallen comrades.

➸ Deciding it would make more sense for her clan, Cicadastar requests to Raptorstar that there are some minor changes in their rank hierarchy. Rather than soldiers, the position is split into hunting captain, scouting captain, and deputy. The captains are in charge of reporting any mishaps with patrol arrangements and helping the deputy and leaders with organization - they are like senior warriors, so to speak. They are only necessary if the clan is over 100 in population.
--- The deputy is to be the next leader if one should be unable to lead any longer. In the case that both leaders somehow are unable to lead and step down at the same time, the deputy would choose their second leader as well as next deputy, though the captains do not necessarily have rights to the spot over the normal hunters or scouts of the clan.

Two siblings have fended for each other since being abandoned by Twolegs many moons ago. Upset with Twolegs, they gradually moved deeper and deeper into the wilderness, but are lonely and growing exhausted of traveling. This moon, they've arrived at the edge of Arroyoclan territory, following rumors of a larger colony of cats in the area. Sunstar allows them to join the clan at their request. The two siblings take the names Creekleap and Swallowsong.

Mariposastep has been with the clan for a moon, but is still having difficulty fitting in. Most of the other cats were formerly loners or rogues, and she feels ashamed of her kittypet past. One afternoon, she finds herself alone on a patrol with Rookstorm. She finds the deputy intimidating and is worried that he judges her for her previous soft lifestyle, but he shows her only kindness. He helps her with her hunting skills and she shows him flowers she knows how to identify. Upon returning from the patrol, Mariposastep realizes that she is no longer intimidated by him, and may have finally made a friend.

Poppypounce's mentorship has been going well, but she is as anxious as ever now that Garterheart is due. She's in the nursery fretting over her mate any time she isn't spending training Heronpaw. Heronpaw is a bit annoyed at how distracted his mentor has been but is excited to no longer be the youngest member of the clan. Garterheart, meanwhile, is just ready to no longer be pregnant.

Sunstar and Cougarclaw have been spending a lot of time together since they reconciled with one another. Observant members of the clan have noticed that they'll suspiciously disappear into the woods together in the evenings, and rumors begin to spread about what they might be doing...

energyball's patrol caught +1 squirrel and +2 birds. during the patrol, cypressstar fell into a cold lake and struggled to get back to the surface; energyball had to leap after him and grab his ringmaster by the scruff to they could get back up together. by the time both cats managed to get to shore, cypressstar's life was already failing as the cold air shocked the already freezing tom. his clanmates were horrified as they witnessed him lose a life to hypothermia...

lionking's patrol caught +3 mice. tragically, quailwail died following a freak accident that involved her agitating a bee hive, dying of an unknown bee allergy after she got stung multiple times.

turtledove's patrol caught +2 shrews and +1 mouse. the patrol managed to find themselves a rat infested hideout and had to fight their way out; as patrol leader, turtledove ensured her clanmates's safety over her own and fought a majority of the rats off herself. she... ultimately lost her final battle.

- foxtrot & a view into the rogue's camp. foxtrot ultimately runs away and crosses the highgarden patrol, who takes him prisoner despite his pleas for help to help his friend

- gladesun and dawnpaw, meanwhile, look for refuge in highgarden after a long travel from mistclan. merlinsong takes an immediate liking to gladesun, and its decided that gladesun and dawnpaw get to stay

- softglow gets to pick up the kits from joan and finds ivorykit, who is small and angry and in need of a new home. softglow goes home with his kits and everyone is very excited for him and supportive of him and merlinsong

- gladesun meets the other herbalists and is shocked at the amount of injured cats in highgarden, and solsticestand gets defensive. cougarstrike and polarfrost have a nice father-son moment and polarfrost finally tells cougarstrike that he isn't the bio father of sorrelbrook's kits, but he loves them. cougarstrike is super understanding and supportive

- tawnyrose meets with foxtrot and is about to send him away, but foxtrot begs for help to save his friends who are being held in the camp. veerypath takes pity on foxtrot, who he remembers as a kit/young trainee in the rogue group. veerypath vouches for foxtrot, and tawnyrose allows him to stay

- ravenkit has his first vision of the bird spirits & primrosebriar has a brief connection with maplefrost. squirrelpaw is also having strange dreams and is visited by betonypetal's ghost

- foxtrot begs veerypath for help back at the rogue camp because his friend needs to escape because he's scared they'll be killed for his escape. veerypath says that he's already done too much for foxtrot, but waxwing overhears the issue and offers to help foxtrot. they devise a plan to break his friend out of the camp behind veerypath's back

• finally, a pair of bedraggled refugees from mistclan arrive at highgarden's border. at first, admittedly, the clan is reluctant to take in anymore strangers when they, themselves, are in danger. but merlinsong encourages tawnyrose to accept gladesun as an herbalist, and birchflame is optimistic about taking in dawnpaw in another trainee to boost their ranks. tawnyrose relents and offers gladesun and dawnpaw refuge, which they accept
