Upgrades to the pound

When you adopt a pet, there's very little "impact", so to speak. It just instantly put a heart on the pet, removes the countdown to get a new set of pets, and adds a link to view your new pet. It makes me feel like I missed something! The instant heart is fine, but maybe the countdown can fade out and the link can fade in with the "box" it's in with a highlighted (lighter or darker) background color?

Hmm, do you have your web browser set to "prefers reduced motion"? We have an animation of the big heart growing in, and a few little hearts floating upwards and away, but this is disabled for people who have explicitly opted out of motion.

TIL an OS-level reduced motion setting affects the browser! I had no idea! I went to check my Firefox settings for it, fully expecting to find the setting turned off since I do turn it off when possible, but to my surprise, I straight up couldn't find a setting in the standard Settings menu, and I doubted I went into about:config to change it since I almost never go into about:config. So I looked it up and found MDN's prefers-reduced-motion page--so it's likely my Windows 11 "Animation effects" setting being turned off is coming into play here.

Dunno when I'll be able to catch the Pound next to actually test it for real, since my schedule is pretty erratic and even if I know when the Pound will open I may not be available

Why does the pound keep closing within 5 minutes lately? Is this happening for anyone else?

im having really bad lag issues with the pound (i have incredible internet with a lan connection). Every pound since this update has refreshed me multiple times into PAGES that are ALL already taken...not to mention everything being gone in less than 5 min....
i love the countdown and the new animation but its really causing extreme lag issues

I have no issues with the countdown and the page loading but I have been consistently unable to adopt off the first page due to the adopt button buffering despite clicking immediately. I’m used to first page pets going fast but the button buffers for a solid two seconds before I get the already taken notice and it’s way more inconvenient than getting the ‘sorry’ notice and immediately being able to go back to the page

had to come in and say i've had the exact same issue pretty consistently for a few years actually. i know it's not an issue with my internet as this doesn't happen to anything aside from the CS pound specifically. i've tried it on mobile data, and it's still incredibly slow for the first page or two. i also never have this issue with the lost and found.
