featherstar felt weary as she stumbled over to the fresh-kill pile, snatching up a squirrel. she knew her kits would come this moon. she remembered last gathering when she had spoken to smokebelly. he had been overjoyed. she dragged the squirrel to a patch of warm sunlight that penetrated the mists, gathering heavily in the dank autumn weather. lilywish sat next to her.
"you gonna eat that?" she asked motioning towards the squirrel featherstar had taken.
"no." the silver leader responded. the black and white she-cat looked at her.
"you okay?" lilywish said said, nudging her with her muzzle. featherstar pulled away.
"i'm fine. i just wanna sleep." she responded.
"i think you should go see ridgepelt. queens are usually ravenous this close to kitting. i remember sugarcane nearly ate the entire fresh-kill pile." the cats listening went silent, and featherstar flinched. the memory of the kind she-cat was too painful "oh. i'm sorry." lilywish said, and bowed her head. featherstar said nothing. pushing the squirrel towards lilywish, she went back to the dark, warm nursery. sugarcane had died while kitting, and because there were no nursing queens at the time, her kits had had to seek shelter and milk in marshclan, and goldenfur had gone with them. many, such as sugarcane's best friend, graywing, had been scarred deeply by her sudden death. featherstar tucked her paws beneath her and closed her eyes.

ridgepelt looked up from the herbs she had been sorting and saw lilywish walk in.
"can i talk to you? alone?" she said, shooting a meaningful glance at sprucepaw, who looked up quizzically. ridgepelt shrugged.
"of course. problems? let me take a look at you." lilywish shook her head and backed away.
"it's not me. it's featherstar. something's wrong."
"what?" the madicine cat turned back to her medicine.
"she isn't eating. she's so thin. well, for an expecting queen, that is."
"probably just nervous, or under pressure from leading the clan and caring for herself." ridgepelt mewed, not looking up from the herbs. she looked at one closely and flicked a bug off of one in disgust. she would need to get fresher ones.
"if you say so."
"where is she now?"
"in the nursery, sleeping."
"hmph! the way she's acting, you'd think having kits was the worst thing that happened to her!" ridgepelt growled. "eh, if you insist. take her some of this when she wakes up." she pushed some leaves towards lilywish, who nodded and left. serves her right for breaking the code. why couldn't she have kits with a warrior from her own clan? she's a leader for starclan's sake. look where it got sugarcane! she thought angrily.

Dove came crashing through the Crossroad's camp, sliding to a halt when coming upon Raggedstar. The small white tom froze, panting heavily as his eyes darted around, afraid to meet the eyes of Raggedstar's. Dove wasn't sure how the scruffy tom would react with the news of his brother's first life being taken. Especially by him, the clan's medicine cat. Sensing something was off, Raggedstar quickly grew impatient waiting for the young white tom to speak. "Out with it already!" Raggedstar demanded, his eyes narrowing. This quickly snapped the white tom's attention back to Raggedtsra, his vivid blue eyes locking eyes with the leader's deep dark green eyes. With a deep breath, Dove straightened his posture and finally spoke. "I was at the Celestial's border, gathering herbs when a tom... Cottonstar. Approached. Spinning lies about being my father, when I know it was the angel speaking. I...I...." Dove spoke, his voice slowly began to shake unsure of what lied ahead of him when he would reveal what he had done. Raggedstar wasn't a cat anyone kept waiting, clearly annoyed with the waiting the large brown torbie tom let out a small hiss. Dove gulped a bit before giving a small nod and speaking again. "Blinded by rage I struck. Taking a life away from him. I heard an oncoming patrol and fled back here as quick as I could. I'm not sure if they'll come or not... I'm sorry, Raggedstar..." Dove meowed, hanging his head, bracing himself for Raggedstar's unpredictable anger. By now the rest of Crossroad Demons had gathered, listening in on what Dove had to say. A few wanted to gasp, but didn't dare in case Raggedstar reacted badly. Silence filled the air heavily until Raggedstar let out a startling deep hardy laugh. This took all of Crossroads by surprise, even Xenrelle and Meridova who had been with Raggedstar down in hell before they rose up to the living world. "Was that all? Dove, come on. You of all cats know how I feel about those damn angels. I mean I would have waited a bit for our numbers to grow, but I'm all for sticking it to those stuck up pricks." Raggedstar meowed. "Well if they attack we'll be ready." He meowed, raising is voice letting it echo through out the empty warehouse. The rest of Crossroads let out yowls of approval, preparing for a fight that may or may not come.

A few moons had passed and the Celestial Beings didn't attack. Although slightly disappointed he wouldn't get to sink his claws into his brother's pretty white fur Raggedstar was a bit relieved he wouldn't have to worry about a battle with their numbers so small. Although the group had been graced with a new Black-Demon and another strong Knight. Raggedstar and the new Knight Rhyzel, quickly hit off, the pair being two large rough scruffy looking toms. Redoak watched as the two toms chatted away like long lost buddies, seeing that Raggedstar was distracted the tom took the moment as the time to slip away and sneak off to the Celestial's border in hopes to catch sight of his former mate Ashbreeze, although Raggedstar had told him time and time again she was no longer there, just a shell that the angels used for one of their own. Deep down the rusted black tom didn't believe it, but only went along with it to please Raggedstar. Redoak padded along the alley way that eventually gave way to the old field that lead to the border of the Celestial Beings. Finding his usual spot on a crooked old metal box, Redoak hopped up and sat down, his eyes fixated on the land before him. No clear signs of any new border patrols, with the scents of Crossroad Demons and Celestial Beings mingled together hitting his nose. With a heavy sigh the fluffy tom lied down, his eyes still fixated on the border before him. He often came here waiting for hours until returning back to camp, never once spotting the familiar calico pelt that belongs to his former mate. Hours passed and still no signs, with the sun's light slowly fading Redoak let out a sad heavy sigh and rose to his paws and jumped down from his spot. Today seemed to be another bust, but as Redoak was beginning to walk away a rustling sound caught his attention. Turning, the tom's heart almost leaped out of his chest as his eyes settled upon the familiar pelt of Ashbreeze. His best friends, his mate, the love of his life. "Ashbreeze." He breathed, unable to contain his excitement.

" Loststar! " Rustleg limped over to the leader. She looked over joyed. " The kits, they're born! " Loststar smiled and they quickly padded over to the nursery. They saw Shinegaze nursing three kits and Mocha nursing four. " Two of the kits Shinegaze is nursing are Goldenfur's kits. " She flicked ear towards the golden tom chatting with Shinegaze. The apprentices stalked into the nursery, curious about all the noise. " Awe! " Wasppaw glanced around at all the kits. A ghostly figure popped through the door and sat in between Echopaw and Silverwater. Silverwater smiled warmly at Echopaw. Echopaw realized that no one else saw the cat. Loststar gave it a glance but didn't want to draw attention, same with Rustleg. But no one else noticed. " Do they have names? " Loststar asked. Shinegaze spoke up first. " Mine is Daisykit, Goldenfur's are Baykit and Hawkkit. " She said. " We have Cacaokit, Honeykit, Dewkit, and this little one. I can't think of a name for him. " Mocha explained. " What about Sugarkit? " Echopaw said, looking to the ghostly figure. The figure smiled warmly then faded away. Goldenfur gave a sad smile. Mocha lit up. " Yes! "

About:

All cats in Marshclan are aggressive and battle hungry. Insulting each other as jokes, play fighting but way more violent then how kits would and starting random battles. With a strict leader that does not take mistakes lightly, they are battle hungry. They live in a morass, a wet land being overlapped with shallow ponds. The ponds drown grass and just barely touch the trunks of surrounding willows. The cats hunt amphibians, rodents and small birds. They are known as: Rigorous or intolerable.
