cait burst into camp, panting and with a panicked expression. ádh followed right behind her, looking a bit surprised and extremely out of breathe. "what happened to them, réalta?" cait quickly padded towards the clan's medicine cat. réalta dropped the herbs she was carrying as cait stared at her, awaiting an answer.

"they all say they were ambushed by a few foxes." réalta meowed, looking over at bán who struggled his way out of the den as his sister, sneachta, padded over with a squirrel in her jaws. even though his shoulder was back in place, it would take a while for the pain to ease even with the help of poppyseeds.

"foxes.. i'll have oighir get a search going." cait meowed, she was still in slight panic mode as she padded away. réalta watched her pad off towards the tom. "ádh, can you make sure bán's shoulder is okay? i need to help cré-umha." réalta meowed to the apprentice, who gave a brisk nod.

ádh sighed putting down a bundle of herbs, she was disappointed in what she saw the night before. how could lasair make cats train with claws unsheathed? was he aware that the younger cats would be in a huge disadvantage and could possibly die? she was more disappointed in herself though, why did she have to go there? she hated the idea but something about it made sense. réalta had oighir and a few warrior build a makeshift shelter for injured cats. her mentor had wanted to have all the injured cats nearby so they could usually be checked all at once. as ádh started to sort out the herbs she heard a cat enter the medicine den. she turned her head to see a slightly worried sneachta.

"oh i'm sorry if i'm distracting you. i just wanted to ask, how is my brother doing?" sneachta asked looking down at the bundle of herbs ádh had brought. sneachta seemed distressed, most of the clan was after they heard that there was quite a number of cats injured. the only cats that weren't were the cats that were there that night and oighir and ghrian who were able to keep their composure.

"he is fine. he is in good paws, sneachta. don't be worried about him, with his shoulder back in place he will recover quickly." ádh meowed, giving the molly a friendly lick on the shoulder. "sneachta.. have you talked to your brother recently?" ádh muttered, struggling a bit to find the right words to say. sneachta gave her a weird look. she hadn't worded it well. obviously the two had spoken, they were siblings for starclan's sake. "like about what you two have been up to?" she asked quickly, hearing lasair's meow coming from the direction of the makeshift den. he had probably gone to talk to bán.

"no?" sneachta meowed, confusion in her voice. she wasn't sure what she was talking about. "just watch out for him. and for yourself. there is a lot that is going to happen in the future for you two." ádh muttered, looking down at her paws. "the moon will turn red and a cats heart will be overtaken by darkness." she whispered before going back to sorting her herbs. sneachta slowly nodded, her head hurt from confusion so she didn't dare ask any questions. she turned away and left the medicine cat, full of questions and confusion.

"fiáin." lasair meowed the apprentice's name as he left the bushes to see the apprentice tasting the air for prey. "hello lasair." the apprentice stammered a bit, a little surprised to see him there.

"i have a mission for you." lasair purred, sitting down in-front of the apprentice. fiáin's ears perked up and his eyes lit up with excitement. was the cat he admired going to give him a special mission? "you need to prove yourself worthy to fight alongside me. if you prove yourself, you will be one of the specials in our group. just like bán is. with almost as great as a title as i have." lasair mowed, watching the apprentice fill with determination.

"i'll do it!" fiáin meowed excitedly. "i will do you proud lasair!" he squealed like a kit as he turned away and bounced off. "good mousebrain." lasair muttered under his breathe with a roll of his eyes.

She takes her to the medicine cat den and finds out her daughter seemed to had broken leg while being born. TwigHeart is very clear that she can be a warrior BUT her hindleg will never heal. Heatherkit seems sad about it.

The moon hung above the city, bathing each building and street with a hazy glow. It was insignificant when compared to the blaring lights of shops and signs, that lit the ever-awake downtown area of the metropolis. The gleaming lights were blatantly visible even in the practically inhabited area of the city, where the sounds of vicious hissing and yowling came from.

▬▬Two cats fought in the darkness of the night, illuminated only by the industrial empire and the much fainter, milky light of the crescent moon.

▬▬One was a black tortieshell molly and the other a tabby tom, both a deadly mass of fur and muscle. The tom struck out at the molly’s neck, only for her to roll and jab him in the chest, claws scraping his skin. The opponents backed off for a moment only to launch at each other, claws sinking into each other’s shoulder flesh.

▬▬“Enough.” A voice commanded from above. Upon the railing of the rooftop apartment balcony, the silver maine coon looked down at the two cats with a look of vicious dissatisfaction. “Emyr,” She began, leaping down and advancing towards him. He bowed his head respectfully, though before his chin connected to soft chest fur Neith struck out her paw to his throat, slamming him to the concrete. “You could have taken Thistle’s roll to your advantage. She exposed her stomach, and you could have sunk your claws into her belly to end the match.” Sliding her lethal green gaze over to Thistle, she added. “You’re still going easy on him. Being both Arcane cats isn’t a good reason to spare him mercy in a fight.”

▬▬Lifting her paw from Emyr’s throat, the monarch walked away into the apartment, leaving a silence in her wake.

Season: Leaf Fall
Weather: Greenleaf was dry and caused the leaves to fall early and now most of the trees seem to be bare already. The dry weather has not changed, but at least now it is starting to cool off. Predators are going to be found more often now as they try to stock up on prey before the coming winter. Prey is starting to become scarcer now, but herbs seem to be in abundance now. Rogue groups are going to be about as they try to claim as much territory as they can for the soon to be harsh leaf bare. As if this is not enough, the smell of smoke is in the air, lets hope that the fires do not spread to the territories.

bumbletail flicked his tail as he eyed mintfur. the tom had been hacking up hairballs all morning, and the medicine cat was getting quite sick of it. he had been given every emetic bumbletail had in store, and still nothing!

poppyleaf slipped into the den, carrying a small woven basket with her. the stench of twolegplace clung to her pelt, which she was quick to explain. “i found some twoleg items down in the forest, in the east.” she mewed, dropping the basket. she had gathered many herbs, tilting the basket to show bumbletail.

the tom’s brows piqued with interest as he sniffed the foreign object. his nose crinkled with disgust as he delicately picked out the random assortment of herbs. “we’ll have to bring that up to sootstar sometime, then.” he commented in passing as he dug through a little burrow of berries he had created. he reached for a leaf to make a plate of berries for mintfur, dragging it over to the warrior with tired steps.

“eat these for your.. breath. you smell like rotten mouse after all that- just eat them.” bumbletail murmured with a hint of disgust as he padded towards poppyleaf. with a motion of his tail, he called back towards mintfur before exiting. “stay here, we’ll only be a minute!”

mintfur sighed as he nudged the berries around with disinterest.

indentkits were no longer tucked close to their mothers, and tumbled about freely in the cemetery while their mothers basked languidly in the sun like sleepy adders.
indentwarriors, when they were not on patrol, lounged, grooming one another affectionately; hawkeyes and fallowstep were the most noticable, their bright pelts illuminated by the sun that rose slowly overhead as they shared tongues.
indent"do you miss her?" hawkeyes asked softly, his tongue rasping over the crest of fallowstep's forehead. "silversky, i mean."
indenta sigh brushed across hawkeyes' pelt as fallowstep sighed. "i miss being her friend, really," he answered quietly. "not her mate; i am happy with you. she is a wonderful friend, though," he paused, glancing about, his eye catching upon the molly in question. it was no secret to many that silversky had sworn off toms; now, she looked semi-nervous as she discussed something-or-other with lemonfur, one of the clan's newest additions (lemonfur and ryepatch had been travelling together, and many thought them to be mates, but lemonfur swiftly squashed that rumor when she began boldly flirting with silversky).
indent"well," hawkeyes stretched a limb, his joints giving a satisfying pop; he was not old, but he was one of the senior warriors in graveclan. "be her friend, then; with the recent tragedy of vervainpaw's death — " fallowstep flinched. " — she will need someone to support her. a companion." hawkeyes shrugged, draping a paw over fallowstep's shoulder and nudging him lightly.
indentfallowstep blinked; he had never considered trying to be silversky's friend. they had been mates, sure, but he'd left her alone and pregnant in a barn. if he could become silversky's friend, then perhaps hollypaw and thymepaw might forgive him for his lack of honesty. he had thought that silversky might never forgive him, and yet...
indentit was possible.
indentand fallowstep had always been a determined tomcat.

indentminkbelly, as he was newly called, was perched atop a low-hanging limb of one of the dead trees that surrounded the training hollow; no cat knew why there was such decay in this particular spot, but it provided a wonderful place to practice fighting (there was no prey to scare away; small animals avoided the area). the freshly named warrior was draped over the limb, nestled between two branches as he spectated upon the mock-fighting that went on below him.
indentspidernose had ordered him not to participate in any patrols, and minkbelly was happy to oblige; his eyes were pinned upon gatorpaw, who suddenly rolled beneath hawkeyes (who had reluctantly untangled himself from fallowstep to begin training), his small, lanky frame providing plenty of room for him to complete the maneuver.
indenthawkeyes whirled, his sheathed paws dashing towards gatorpaw, but the apprentice was incredibly clever, perhaps the smartest feline in graveclan; his tail swept an arc in the air as if tracing his path as he launched himself over hawkeyes and onto his back, his teeth digging into hawkeye's scruff as he forced the larger tomcat onto the ground.
indenthawkeyes was panting. "wonderful," he spoke between heavy gasps, winded. "again."
indentminkbelly was thoroughly enjoying himself, he thought languidly as he watched them practice once more. he could see everything that gatorpaw was doing (and gatorpaw, though no cat could tell what he was thinking, was showing off a bit, for he was aware of minkbelly's presense), could see the wiry muscles ripple beneath his thick pelt, could see his bright, inquisitive blue eyes flash in the sunlight, could see his sleek fur gleam in the afternoon haze.
indentyes, minkbelly thought as he stretched. he was absolutely enjoying himself.

indentpelicanface was handsome, whinchatpaw had noticed at first glance.
indentthe tom in question was speaking with neritefang, now; they both had a knack for storytelling, and pelicanface was gesturing wildly with a paw as he told a tale of massive, blue-grey beasts that he called sharks.
indentwhinchatpaw gave a dreamy sigh that much resembled claystream's; she was bracing her chin atop a gravestone that she peeked over, sitting on the dusty floor.
indent"what are you looking at?" a voice suddenly interrupted her longing, and she released a squawk of surprise, tumbling backwards, face flaring a bright red tinge. otterpaw squinted down at her, head cocked; she was endlessly curious, much to spidernose's chagrin, for she constantly bounded into the gypsy's den with tiny cuts and lacerations from sticking her nose where it didn't belong (like, for example, a bramble bush).
indent"nothing," whinchatpaw retorted swiftly. otterpaw stuck her head over the headstone, trying to follow the other molly's line of sight, but whinchatpaw leapt to her paws and bowled the other feline over. "don't!" she hissed sharply, her whiskers twitching with apprehension. "he'll see you!"
indentotterpaw paused, her eyes gleaming with curiousity. "he?" she echoed. whinchatpaw's face flared again; "no! i didn't say that!" she protested, to no avail; the persistent otterpaw rolled to her feet, tail swaying as a grin spread over her face.
indent"you likeeeeeee someone," she sang, dancing a tiny circle as she released a tiny giggle. "who is it? let me see!" again, she stuck her head over the marble monument, and again whinchatpaw let out a gasp of irritation, but this time otterpaw managed to catch a glimpse of the only tomcat in sight.
indent"pelicanface?" she spoke incredulously. "but he's so — he's so odd!"
indentwhinchatpaw sighed her defeat. "yes, pelicanface," she admitted lowly. "and no he's not! he's sweet! and handsome," her voice took on a dreamy, almost absent sort of tone before she snapped back to reality. "you can't tell anyone," she insisted darkly, glaring sharply at otterpaw. "if you do i'll... i'll... — i don't know what i'll do! but it won't be good!"
indentotterpaw simply grinned. "okayyyy," she drawled before trotting off, looking smug.
indentwhinchatpaw stared, and released a groan.
indenteveryone in graveclan would know her secret by moonhigh.

The moors stretched before her, cold and lifeless. With no solace from the wind, Linnettail couldn't suppress a shiver as it ran through her bones; as she tried to stare out the horizon, the tabby couldn't help but glance every now and then that the dead oak, it's branches darkened as though a fragment of the night-sky had waged war with it's long-lost leaves. Fritillarystar had made her last stand under it's claws and now lay under it, watching over MoorClan for the rest of time.

Sniffling, Linnettail missed Fritillarystar and although it had been many moons ago, the tabby recalled the day that the tortoiseshell had smiled at her. One of the last times the leader had smiled, Linnettail reckoned, except for when her kits were born perhaps. It had been a terrible day, but also a great day; Swanstar had finally been killed and Linnettail was left with nothing but nightmares, she hadn't just lost a tyrant but a friend too.

And the stories still circulated; Swanstar a devil, and Fritillarystar an angel free from sin. Those...those weren't wholly true, Linnettail was sad to admit. Unsheathing her claws, Linnettail watched the murmuring rain sliding over them and closed her eyes, images of bleeding eyes flashing before her. Fritillarystar had her own crimes to atone for, even if she chose to hide it under the word 'justice'.

''Whatcha thinking about?'' Pansycloud inquired, clambering up onto the roof with all the grace of a newborn foal. ''My mum always said that if you daydreamed too long, you'd end up in the clouds forever and ever.'' The soft tortoiseshell chuckled softly, as she snuggled up to the shivering warrior. ''Geez, you're freezing.'' Pansycloud murmured, fretting over her friend. ''Can't have that.''

Flinching as Pansycloud curled around her, Linnettail smiled softly at her. ''Thanks, Pansy.'' The pair were quiet as Linnettail looked out across the moors. ''...Do you ever think you're invisible?'' The striped tabby felt heat rush to her ears, and she ducked her face awkwardly. ''Like...like, you're just in the background and everybody's doing stuff.'' She rambled. ''Like you're insignificant.''

Soft-jade eyes blinked and Pansycloud smiled, white tail curling around Linnettail. ''Oh dear.'' She sighed, falling silent to pick carefully through her thoughts. ''...I don't think there's anything wrong with being in the background.'' At Linnettail's stunned expression, Pansycloud pressed her nose to Linnettail's. ''You can keep your cool if you're not in the middle of the chaos, and MoorClan needs cats like that.''

Blood roared like the thunderpath in her ears and Linnettail recoiled, smiling goofily. ''T-thanks, Pansycloud.'' She mumbled, tucking her paws under her belly as the rain thundered on. ''...I-'' A yowl interrupted Linnettail and the tabby was up on her paws, leaning over the edge of the roof; it was Vervainthroat, ranting about something, something to do with deathberries and promises. ''Oh StarClan.'' whispered Linnettail, who quietly closed her eyes. 'So soon? StarClan, have you abandoned us?''


But of course they had. Now that MoorClan had thrown off their starry yoke, there was no need for them to be there.

''You traitor!'' Vervainthroat snarled, lashing at Lilystream. ''You fool! We could've had it all!'' The Siamese let out a snake's hiss, red dripping from his bared claws. ''But no, you just had to be a coward.'' Vervainthroat turned to the rest of the angry clan, watching as vigilant as hawks. ''It could've been great.'' He growled, turning back to Lilystream. ''But this disgusting worm had to let me down.''

The white cat trembled, tri-coloured tail twitching as she stared down those hot, angry blue eyes. ''I'm expecting your kittens.'' Lilystream whispered, blood dripping from her whiskers. ''And believe me when I say that I will raise them, and raise them without a memory of you.'' She growled, timidity shed like a snake's skin, like a moth emerging from a cocoon. ''I hate you, Vervainthroat.''

And then, silence.

Vervainthroat was one of the most agile cats in MoorClan and in a few moments, the Siamese disappeared over the crest of their greatest hill and was no more; the dark had passed, and dawn would bloom, like a bright, perfect flower.

Vervainthroat has been exiled.
Lilystream is pregnant with Vervainthroat's kits.

Cindertail watched the kits tumble outside. Wrenpool's litter were going to be apprenticed tomorrow and they were so excited they couldn't stay still, much to Wrenpool's dismay. She made them spend most of the day outside the nursery since it was getting so crowded. Wisteriawind's kits were five moons old and would be apprenticed soon as well. At least there would be plenty of room for Rabbitspark. The thought made Cindertail smile. He spotted his mate curled up in the chilly sun, her belly slightly bigger. Last moon, he had learned that she was carrying his kits and he was overjoyed. He sighed happily. He would be a good father, he would make sure of it. He would never abandon them. His planning was inturupted by a tom pushing his way into the vine-veiled crack that served as a entrance to the cave medicine den. It was Slatestar. "Hey there, Slatestar!" Cindertail smiled "What's up?" SLatestar smiled wearily, laying beside his clanmate. Slatestar sighed. "Too much, to be honest with you." He chuckled "But. You're who I have to talk to right now." Cindertail tilted his head in confusion. Slatestar swallowed. "I heard about your leg...I'm sorry, Cindertail." The grey warrior flashed a pained smile at his leader. He looked back at his twisted leg. Minkblossom had announced that there was no use trying to treat it, that he would never walk on that leg again."I-it's okay. Nothing you did." He assured him. The leader licked his lips. "Well, since you can't walk...you...can't really hunt or patrol. So I'm here to offer you a place in the elder's den if you want it." He said slowly. Cindertail twitched an ear. "I can still walk, Slatestar." He pointed out, voice still friendly "Only one of my legs is broken." Slatestar's face grew apologetic. "Oh, I didn't mean to offend you!" He meowed rapidly "I just wanted to-" Cindertail cut him off with a chuckle. "It's okay, Slatestar." He reassured the tom "Listen, I've known you ever since the starting days of BearClan. I know you better than anyone here except for Sandstep. You don't have to be so serious around me." Slatestar seemed to relax at his words. "Yea, I guess." He smiled "Sorry, I've been talking to Vipersun a lot lately. He's getting a bit impatient with me and I have to have my guard up at all times in case he's watching me. I don't think he thinks I'm fit to lead." Cindertail scoffed. "Mousedung!" He spat "Slatestar you're the best leader I've ever known!" Slatestar looked at him. "And how many leaders have you known?" He retorted. Cindertail swallowed and looked away. "It doesn't matter." He stated firmly "You are a great leader. There's only so much a single cat can do. Vipersun doesn't understand. He would crumble if he was in your position." Slatestar smiled at his friend, dipping his head as Cindertail rested his chin on the leader's head. Slatestar sighed, rising to his paws. "Let me know what you've decided." He meowed down to him. Cindertail looked at his leader with determination in his eyes. "I've already made it." He meowed "I want to remain a warrior. I may not be able to hunt, but I can patrol and defend our borders as well as I was able to before fighting the bear." Slatestar smiled and nodded his head in acknowledgement. But as the leader was about to exit, Cindertail stopped him. "But Slatestar," He called, making the leader turn and face him "You know what that means right?" Slatestar furrowed his brow. "I want my stone to remain in the pool." Slatestar's eyes widened. "Cindertail, if you go up there again, you'll die." Cindertail frowned. "If I'm a warrior I should be treated as one." He pressed "All of the other warriors have to fight, so I will too." Slatestar opened his mouth to protest, but a stern glare from Cindertail made him reluctantly nod his head. "Thank you, Slatestar." The warrior sighed. Slatestar just turned and started walking again, muttering before he left, "Get some rest. You'll need it if you're going to be a father. Rounding up kits can be quite the task."

Thistlepaw trotted happily behind his new mentor. Gingerstem walked stifly through the forest. It was oddly cold. In fact, it was the coldest day that Thistlepaw had ever remembered. Some of the leaves on the trees looming above were white with frost already. It was weird, considering the day before was sunny and only a tad bit chilly. But now, Thistlepaw was sure that he could see his whiskers starting to freeze. Sniffing, he looked to his sister next to him. Cherrypaw had been the cat closest to him. Sure, Hickorypaw and Acornpaw were his siblings too, but they were better together. It was Thistlepaw and Cherrypaw, and Hickorypaw and Acornpaw. Their mother always seemed to know this and typically could guess what the four were up to based on what the others were acting like. Like one time, Thistlepaw was trying to climb up the cliff wall and had asked Cherrypaw to keep watch. She wasn't very good at acting natural and gave her brother's plans away by nervously fidgeting by the covered spot Thistlepaw was climbing up. The two kits were forced to sleep outside that night. Cherrypaw always went along with whatever crazy scheme Thistlepaw came up with. He owed her so much. She butted him with her shoulder. "Pay attention!" She hissed quietly "Did you even hear what Gingerstem said?" Thistlepaw shook his head. Cherrypaw rolled her eyes. Otterfur seemed to overhear them. "Your mentor said to be careful of that badger den over there." He repeated, nodding to a hole "It fills up with water whenever it rains. You'll drown in an instant." Thistlepaw felt a pang of curiosity."Can we go check it out?" He meowed excitedly. Hickorypaw flattened his ears. "Did you not hear him?" He hissed "You'll die." Thistlepaw stared at his brother. "You think that'll stop me?" He teased. Hickorypaw scoffed. "Fine. Either way you'll be killed. If not by the water then by mom's fury." Acornpaw just watched in silence, as she always did. The small brown she-cat huddled closer to Hickorypaw. Thistlepaw took a step closer to his brother. Hickorypaw was the tallest out of all of them, so Thistlepaw had to look up to meet his angry gaze. "I'm older than you, Hickorypaw!" Thistlepaw growled "You can't tell me what to do!" Hickorypaw narrowed his eyes. "You sure don't act like it." He muttered "But, hey, do whatever. I don't care." With that, Hickorypaw pushed past Thistlepaw, stomping further along the patrol path. "Buzzkill." Thistlepaw muttered, staying far away from his brother for the rest of the patrol.

Cherrypaw felt a cold nose against her ear. "Cherrypaw!" A voice whispered, though it sounded as loud as a yell "Wake up!" Cherrypaw moaned and rolled over. "Leave me alone, Thistlepaw." She growled to her brother. "But Cherrypaw!" He protested "We have to go!" Cherrypaw furrowed her brow, eyes still closed. "Go where?" She yawned. "The badger den, duh." Thistlepaw sighed. He prodded his sister with a paw, making her move. She shook him off. "You heard Hickorypaw and Otterfur, you can't go there." She whispered, slowly drifting back to sleep. "As if I'd listen to them!" Thistlepaw scoffed "I'm going either way. You don't have to come if you don't want to." Cherrypaw's eyes shot open as she heard her brother start to leave. It was dangerous, but she couldn't let him go alone! He was her brother, the most important cat in her life!" She reluctantly pulled herself to her paws, picking her way around the other sleeping apprentices. "Thistlepaw, wait!" She called quietly, following him into the forest.

The two were walking silently. The frigid night made them want to keep all warm breath to themselves. Even more than the day, the night was absolutely freezing. Cherrypaw was fluffed up so much that you couldn't tell her apart from a dust cloud. And Thistlepaw was so stiff that it was a wonder he was moving his limbs at all. Eventually, they reached the badger den. Thistlepaw peered over the side. He didn't see any water, only inky blackness. Cherrypaw looked in as well. "They lied!" Thistlepaw said triumphantly, dangling a paw into the hole. Cherrypaw placed her tail on his back. "What are you doing?" She asked, terrified. Thistlepaw blinked up at her, as if it was obvious. "I'm...going in?" He told her slowly, sliding further into the hole. "Waiwaitwait!" She spluttered, coming up to him. Giving a deep breath, she aligned her paws with his. Swallowing, she turned to face him. His face was in a wide smile. "Ready?" He asked. After she nodded, the two kicked off, sliding down the dirt walls and tumbling into the hole. The darkness seemed to swallow the two young cats. The hole was deeper than it looked. Several heart beats went by before Cherrypaw felt an icy cold envelop her. She sank into the freezing water slowly. She turned the water, trying to surface. Her head burst through the surface, causing water to cascade everywhere. Cherrypaw spluttered and coughed, trying to regain air. She looked around frantically. "Thistlepaw?" She shouted "Thistlepaw?" She heard a groan from across the cavern. She swiveled to see a shivering pile of grey fur laying on a stone platform. "THISTLEPAW!" Cherrypaw cried. She swam as fast and as well as she could over to him. She pulled herself out of the water, droplets streaming off of her pelt. She curled up next to her brother. They were both freezing cold and drenched. Not a good combination. She nudged him fondly. "Thistlepaw, come on, get up." She urged. Looking up, she saw a faint light. It was the moon. She smiled, curling around her brother. He was breathing slowly, eyes starting to close. Water dribbled out of his mouth and he was too weak to cough. She licked his forehead, no noticing the numbing that was crawling up her body. "Look." She whispered to him, nudging his cheek "It's the moon." Thistlepaw barely opened his eyes to look up. He gave a weak smile. "Yea. See. It'll all be okay." She whispered, voice catching. Her brother swallowed. "C-Cherrypaw." He whispered "I'm sorry for everything. I'm so sorry. This is all my fault." Tears started to well in his eyes, mixing in his wet fur. Cherrypaw shook her head and licked his ears, resting her chin next to his. "No." She smiled "It's not. It's okay. I'm here. I'll always be here for you, brother." Thistlepaw moved his head so that their cheeks were touching. He gave a small shaky breath before laying completed still. Cherrypaw let out a wail of grief. Her brother was dead. She felt tears flow down her face. She buried her nose in his fur, trying to pick out his scent from the icy water smell. She took a deep breath, watching the air fog up, and closed her eyes, feeling a wave of warmth flow over her before the world turned to black.
