[Flummoxing]

These rules exist to ensure safe, fair, and transparent trading for everyone. By participating in Keepsie trades, you agree to follow all of the rules in full. Breaking these rules may result in disciplinary action, including potential bans or loss of ownership. See our Strikes & Bans Policy for more information on how we handle rule breaks and violations.

General Trading Rules

★ Forms must be filled out correctly. Please double-check your form for accuracy before posting.
★ Trades must be confirmed by all parties within this Trading thread, posted directly from their CS account using the appropriate form. You cannot confirm trades anywhere else, or have other users confirm trades for you.
★ If Cross-trading with another UMA, you must link the trade post from that UMA's Trading thread here.
★ If you’re offered a free Keepsie or are gifted Keepsies-related items/currency, please only accept it if you truly want it. Taking freebies just to fodder them is frowned upon and may lead to consequences.
★ In the case of 3-way trades (or any trade involving more than two people), all parties must be fully informed and agree to the arrangement. Failing to disclose that a trade involves other participants is considered dishonest behavior and may result in penalties.

Permitted Trades

You may trade Keepsies or Keepsie items for:
★ Other Keepsies, Keepsie items, or starbits (Keepsie currency).
★ C$ (site currency), CS pets/items, Non-UMA Characters/OCs, or artwork
★ Items or characters from other UMAs (User-Made Adoptables/Closed Species), provided the other species’ rules also permit such trades.

Resale Restrictions:

★ Keepsies obtained through litters, rummaging, giveaways, or any other free methods may only be resold for up to 250 C$, 5,000 starbits, or the equivalent value in other uma currencies/items.
★ Additional artwork (whether commissioned or personal) does not increase resale value.
★ You may not sell or trade any free Keepsies for real-life currency (USD, etc).
★ You may only resell paid customs or purchased adopts for the amount you originally paid, provided the respective cooldowns have elapsed.
★ You may advertise resale of your paid-for Keepsies, but you may not advertise that you are buying re-sellable Keepsies for real money.

Trading Cooldowns:

★ These cooldowns apply to gifting, as well. By "trade", we mean any situation where one Keepsie is transferred to another person.
★ All Keepsies (EXCEPT customs, out-of-species trades, and litterswaps) are subject to a one-week trading cooldown upon acquisition. For information regarding the different cooldowns for other types of trades, please read the sections below.
★ This applies regardless of how they were obtained (like trades, litters, or raffles).
★ Keepsies may not be offered or posted for trade during this cooldown. You may not plan or organize any trades for a Keepsie before its cooldown is up.
★ Users are limited to 2 Keepsie trades a week.

LitterSwaps
★ The one-week cooldown is waived for "litterswap" trades- trades made between users for newly released Keepsies from litters, that share the same lines. This exemption does not apply to Keepsies acquired via trade, or from older litters.

Out-of-Species Trades
★ Keepsies being traded in exchange for designs or items from other UMAs, must be owned for 2 weeks before organizing, planning, offering or posting the trade. This rule goes regardless of the other species' personal trading cooldowns or rules. Both UMAs rules must be abided by and respected for a trade between them to take place.

Customs
★ Custom Keepsies have a 1-month trading cooldown after it is delivered to you. This is to prevent customs from being ordered solely to be used as trade fodder.
★ Custom "Memorial" Keepsies, like those made in remembrance of pets or loved ones who have passed, cannot be traded or gifted to anyone except under unique circumstances where permission was given by an Admin or the Owner.
★ Keepsies resulting from Color-in contests have the same 1-month cooldown as a normal custom.
★ If a custom is traded or gifted to you, and you are not the original commissioner, it falls under the standard one-week rule instead.

Adopts
★ Adoptable Keepsies purchased with real-life currency or c$ have a 1-month trading cooldown after being bought.

Finalizing Trades:

★ Any trade involving time-based components (like art, writing, or customs) must be posted to be considered final and agreed-upon.
★ Trade posts must be updated to include the finished art/writing/custom/etc once it has been completed.
★ Backing out of an agreed-upon trade that was solidified in a post will require staff intervention. Please reach out to a mod or admin if you and your trade partner would like to cancel.
★ If part of a trade involves art (including customs) and it has not been delivered within what the receiving party considers a reasonable timeframe, the user may contact the species owner (flummoxing) and request to cancel the trade. In such cases, cancellation must be approved by the species owner, and will depend on communication history, progress shown, and overall context.
★ Trades for non-uma characters/OCs must include proof of what character(s) will be involved in the trade.

Character-Based Keepsies:

★ Keepsies designed after an OC (original character) are considered extensions of that character.
★ They cannot be traded independently from the OC, nor treated as separate entities. This is in-line with Toyhou.se's policy and to prevent scamming.

Paid Recolor Trades:

★ If offering to buy someone a paid recolor in exchange for a Keepsie, you must clearly name the artist providing the recolor and provide proof of a secured slot or confirmed agreement with the artist. The artist must be given, and agree to, the details of the custom in question before the trade is posted and finalized in the Trades Forum.
