Prompt: [106 words] the guild has multiple clerics. the high cleric is in charge of them all, and the majority of the health in the clan. they organize quarantines for sick cats, and herb patrols. each warband has their own cleric, who keeps a closer eye on each of the member's health. the clerics rely on magic as much as herbs for healing, so in winter the magic aspect becomes more important. sickness isn't something cats die from often, as the guild has worked out cures, magically and herbally, for most illnesses. however, it spreads quickly if cats aren't properly quarantine and can take out entire warbands and patrols.

Prompt: Although the commoncats within the Effale clan struggle, those within higher ranks are doing just fine. The clan alchemist has everything under control, just as the royals ordered. But now that everyone is fairly settled in the court, the Effale alchemist and their assistant have a lot of work to do to keep the commoncats from spreading the virus. they are under the pump, working long into the night and waking early in the morning to gather more healing herbs. They call upon the oracle, Lycra, to speak to the celestials deities for guidance. Although a well-respected cat in Effale, Lycra has a tendency to lie in order to keep other people happy, and she's told one or two lies to keep the alchemists hopeful....

The Nelend cats remain clam during this time of sickness, and use their strong-will and determination to face any negativity head-on. The diplomatic nature of the Nelend clan means that cats are welcome to leave the territory if they conclude that being a part of Nelend is too dangerous for their health, but the governing roundtable of chiefs and chieftess' try to limit this as they wish for their society to be strongly connected. Since the clan are located within the volcanic mountain ranges to the north of Cattiopeia, herbs and other healing items are normally low in resource. The sickness seems to be getting out of hand, and now they have to infiltrate Effale in order to stay alive. They know it's a risk, but one they are willing to take to keep their society strong.

Unlike the Effale and Nelend clans that you've just read about, Rigi are relentless and morally concerning. They strongly believe in survival of the fittest. If you're not fit enough to endure this piddly sickness, then you are not a true Rigi cat. Although they have an archmage who deals with magical healing, their responsibilities are reserved for the high-ranking cats. But even then, they do not put much effort into preserving the lives of the high-ranks. The rule still remains, no matter who you are.

The Tokeoc clan have three main roles which are dealing with the sickness: the mystic, priest and healer. These three cats are working together day and night to combat whatever virus is lacing its way through the clan cats systems. Thanks to the mystic, who speaks to Aebarrow, the Tokeoc world tree, through specialised spiritual powers, herbs continue to grow in lush availability. Great amounts of life force pump through the plant roots to give the Tokeoc clan the best chance of survival. Although the other clans of Cattiopeia are unaware of the Tokeoc resources, rangers and their recruits still patrol the territory to keep unwanted visitors and potential thieves from sniping their powerful medicine.

Energie is young when she hears it for the first time. "Sickness," the launcher muses to herself. It sounds like the name of a song to her ears.

She looks to the nearest rogue, a Healer, and asks, "What is sickness?"

The Healer, a rogue, first and foremost, glowers at her. "Do I look like a Chronicler to you, docker?"

Energie takes no offense, mind wrapped around the possibilities. "Sickness, sickness..."

Into the Archive she sprints, eyes only for the meaning of the word. "Sickness means... oh. But... if it's so serious, why does no one know the meaning of 'sick'? Why don't the Healers..?"

Prompt: For such a new clan, they was little precious time to gather. Blossomcrown found herself fretting about it constantly, trying to stretch what she had with water or supplements. What choice did she have, much as she did not like the idea! Vinetail meanwhile was going out on the patrols, eyes sharp but having little luck. It was frustrating, watching their clans health whittle down. The kittens tried to keep everyones spirits up, but for everyone right now it was all an uphill battle...

Petalscorch wakes up shivering, despite her coat almost burning to the touch. Talonfall stands over her, calmly trying to help her.
"Hey, it's ok, it's ok. You might have to... you know, uh... let your lunch out, so to speak."
Before Talonfall could say anything else, Petalscorch leaps into some nearby bushes and does just that.
"What- what's happening?" she asks, feeling woozy. Looking around the camp, she can see several of the other cats in a similar state as her. Except for Talonfall.
"Well," Talonfall says, "I thought it was whitecough at first. Good thing there's a beehive near by, lots of honey! But... remember that feast we had? And how Swallowspring brought back that big juicy turkey? Well, so, remember it was very plump but it didn't smell too great until they removed the feathers and well, I... I think that turkey is making everyone sick. Because it turns out she found it in a two-leg's place, in the back of one of their monsters and though the birds were big and plump, way more than we usually see, they were covered in something gross. And I didn't eat the turkey because I was busy stocking the new medicine cat den."
Petalscorch groans. Never trust a two-leg to not ruin food. First those pellets and now even freshkill!
"Tell Stormtail- oh heck, you're in charge right now," Petalscorch says, realizing she really needs to lay down before her legs force her to.

Prompt: Pepperleap paced around the medicine cat’s den frantically waiting for Vixencloud to return. He stopped when hearing pawsteps and his face lit up before quickly turning into a frown. The she cat had returned with no new herbs… “Nothing again?” He asked with a sigh. The she cat nodded her head and sat down beside them. It was only those two healing the clan. A majority had fallen ill. It was so dire that Lotusbreeze got sick and the healthy clan cats also took into learning herbs and healing to help aid the recovery. Pepperleap went ahead and grabbed a few mossballs and filled them with water before handing them to the sick cats. One of them beinf Crabspots who had recently gotten sick. He was resting beside his oldest kit Dewlily. Pepperleap nudged the mods to him to let him drink.

“Daddy! Daddy!”

The two cats looked over seeing a she cat and a little kit. Crabspots smiled. “Hello dear. Haha hello Shrimpkit. You two okay?”

“We’re fine Crabspots. Shrimpkit wanted to come see you and Dewlily.” Berrybreeze responded. Pepperleap decided to let the family have a moment of talking before turning back to Vixencloud. “Pepperleap we have no more Feverfew and we’re still waiting on the Catmint.”

“But we have lavender right? Enough for tonight?”

“We do… but we don’t have enough poppy seeds to help them all sleep.”

Pepperleap huffed and turned to look out at the entrance of the den. “Let’s hope some of the well cats are finding something.” He sat down and looked at the cat he was beside. It was young Goblinpaw who also kept looking at the entrance. “When are dad and papa coming back?” He asked softly. “Soon Goblinpaw. I hope soon. Being out there in the cold can make them sick as well so I hope they’re on their way back.” And as if on cue, two cats came running to the den.

“Pepperleap! Vixencloud! Look what we found! It’s a miracle!” Anglertooth exclaimed before motioning to Sharksnarl who had a bunch of needed herbs. The two medics smiled and raced over to grab the herbs. “Oh my! Look at all the seeds and catmint and everything! How did you find these?” Vixencloud exclaimed as she took a few of the herbs. “Anglertooth has some sense of smell alright. He picked up the catmint smell and found them protected by a shrub and close by were some seeds also protected. You have no idea how excited we were to find them! I hope it’s enough.” Sharksnarl responded back.

“Oh it’s enough to last a few days! Oh great stars thank you so much you two! You’ll be forever honored for your help this leafbare.”

Whitecough.

Why, WHY should PeaceClan be one of the many clans to have to get through the season of whitecough?
And why, when it was such a beautiful few moons full of snow?

Because whitecough is our enemy. But, in leafbare, we have to try to get through this. Because when it's over, we're stronger than we ever were before.

Our medicine cat isn't sick, thank goodness! She always looks over the twoleg fences to see if they have catmint in their "garden", and she also looks in the forest to find beehives for honey, collects the honey with leaves and takes it back to PeaceClan. Thank Twinklepaws we have such a good medicine cat, who's there for us even in the hard times.

white cough had hit them particularly hard this season, taking a lot of important cats away from their duties due to the inability to work. supplies were low and the chances of finding any out in the tundra were little to none - the snow had coated all of their territory, practically locking them inside of their camp. worst of all their sole medicine cat had become incredibly ill, resulting in their former medicine cat, binturong, stepping up to the position temporarily from the elders den to take their place. her old age hadn't slowed her down, and she did her best to ration out the little supplies they had as best as she could. times were tough, they knew that, but they just had to stick together in order to get through it all.

Mouse-ear was lost in her thoughts for a moment when another loud cough sounded through the clan, making her blood run cold as she looked at the entrance to her den. More and more cats were getting sick every day, and even though there were two of them, she and Scorchnose just weren't enough.

When the first cat got sick, Braveflight, every cat started to panic. It took days of meetings and yowled ideas and anger while Moosestar was trying to speak for them to come up with an idea on how to fight back. The sick cats would stay in camp, and the others would stay closer to the river. It was temporary, and they were constantly running into problems, but they were forcing it to work.

The healthy cats, even if their numbers were ever dwindling, were desperate to find any and all hint of catmint to bring back to Mouse-ear. And Scorchnose was diligently keeping the system there working. They couldn't even interact at this point, Scorchnose would leave any catmint and honey they found for the day in a tree right when the sun began to set, and Mouse-ear would retrieve it once the sun was completely set. It was difficult to keep her store of herbs up, but she tried to give every cat she could catmint, prioritizing the worst cases, and of course their elder. She felt awful whenever she saw Sagewhisper, he looked so frail.

One day, Mouse-ear went out to gather the catmint for the day. Her hope was low, as Moosestar had showed up in the camp entrance, looking downright miserable. She knew that it was taking a toll on everybody to have their leader sick, and she hated seeing her father sick even more. Though she stopped dead as she saw the generous heap of catmint waiting in the hollow of the tree, Scorchnose sat a few yards behind it, waiting for her.

"We found a twoleg house past the river! It's fairly new, and there was a cat in the window. She let us take all the catnip we could find in her twoleg's garden as long as we let her hunt on our land. And, well, we figured that if it could save our clan, it would be a fair trade." Scorchnose meowed, nearly having to yowl to be heard.

"Thank you! I think we might just be okay. I'll update you tomorrow." Mouse-ear called back, waving her tail as a goodbye as she gathered as much catmint in her mouth that she could, knowing she'd have to make a second trip. Which took a huge weight off of her shoulders. Things were finally looking up.

Prompt: Bud was feeling nervous. "Of course a burst of sickness, just what the clan needs" She mumbled to herself as she healed sick cats. The herbs were scarce but that is all they had to work with. All the cats had been teaming up to find any herbs they could that may be able to help will the illness. Bud sighed a deep thoughtful sigh. They were lucky the twolegs had some catmint that they could use. Bud has already blazed through the catmint she had stored at the start of the sickness as she was expecting to take care of the sickness before it spread though that didn't seem to happen.
