Raising its paw to its face! I am having trouble getting the arms right

Alright, so I needed to take time and address this a bit better

Not great examples, but after I looked at it a bit, the arms/shoulders probably couldn't maneuver correctly to move the arm up to the face.
But rather, since the arms are shorter, the would have to lower their head and bend their neck to reach better.
But this is pending that their arms aren't more like kangaroos as opposed to raptors. Kangaroos have more range of motion because their arms are more similar to humans as far as placement, but they're still sort of awkward - and they still will lower their heads to try and scratch at their heads and faces because it's easier for their arms to reach.


I personally draw viscets front legs with more similarities to canine legs, but that's because they have paws instead of hands.


so as far as references for it raising it's paw to it's face, I'm not certain what to give you other than some kangaroo pictures tbh


also these dorks lay down on their backs sometimes to scratch their chest and stomachs lol

(yeah I was having some fun with the kangaroos, but viscets are somewhat based off of them too I think, but I can't recall.)

well going by Soul's break down of the anatomy here,

the head looks about the size of the shoulder joint. I'm not sure how to really explain it. mine sort of vary a bit.
but I try to draw them in the same proportion to the body as I would a typical canine.
