When you gave up your normal life to join a pirate crew and set off on a journey at sea, searching for endless riches and fame, you never quite realized just how boring journeying on the open ocean for days on end could become. You’ve been traveling with this crew for weeks now, and you haven't had the slightest bit of thrill or adventure that you hoped to find.
The rest of the crew just sits around all day playing cards, or sleeping through the day entirely. All except for a an eccentric blue-green goob that curls up in the same spot every morning and spends his hours humming a quiet tune , strumming along with a brightly painted lute that is practically glued to his person. Today, you've decided to approach him. You could meet a new friend, or at the very least, listen to some nice music. When you step forward, he looks up at you and grins.
“Hey, stranger! My name’s Benji. Wow haha, you look bored! Take a seat, I’ll play a song for you.”
Immediately, Benji begins to strum an upbeat tune that has you tapping your foot. After that, he plays a slower song that has you swaying gently with the beat. Before you know it, its been hours, listening to the bard preform. You realize that for the first time in weeks, you are actually having a good time! A few of your other crewmates have even joined in, gathering around to watch the preformance. After awhile of playing, Benji sets down his instrument and sighs, content.
“This has been fun. You know, we should do things like this more often. If anything, it passes the time! Ha!”
Benji pauses for a moment, thinking.
“…Maybe we could have a sort of talent show? Everybody gets a prompt and then we all share what we made at the end of the day. Music, art, poetry, a story. Heck it could be your grocery list for all I care. We still have over a week until we reach our destination, thats plenty of time to get the creative juices flowing, right? So, what do you say?”
