❧ personality: while he is a large and seasoned cat, whose presence commands respect even though his rank he himself doesn't, Smokestep is actually a very laid-back, calm tom. he has a seemingly endless amount of patience and has stood by the pharaoh ever since the last Trial of Longknives. it is extremely difficult to get on his nerves, but he is invaluable in a fight, where his bulk comes in handy as does his battle experience. Smokestep is loyal to the core and considers the pharaoh his friend, even if he is of a much higher rank. he takes care to behave kindly even to those of lowest ranks, which is a quality of his that has been greatly frowned upon by almost everyone. though he has a soft spot for kits, he knows and accepts that he can't have his own.

❧ history: Smokestep is a pure-blood and the last of his family line. back when he was a kit, he had dreamed of becoming a guard. his brawny build and quick thinking made him the ideal candidate and for some time he trained as a Guard's apprentice. but after the current pharaoh won the Trial of Longknives, the silver tom knew that he could best serve and protect his leader from the position of his squire. he gave up on being a guard and took the position of the Paraoh's squire instead and has been carrying that title ever since. Smokestep has fought countless battles by the pharaoh's side and has not faltered once. he does soemtimes wish that he could have a mate and kits, but he understands that the pharaoh comes first.

❧ history: badgerpaw is a pure-blooded sunclan cat from a fairly high-ranking family who has always had high expectations of him. his father had been a cold and distant tom, who only knew duty and didn't tolerate weakness. he died in a fight with a coyote shortly after badgerpaw became an apprentice. his mother, mistfeather, was a very warm and loving she-cat, and she taught him to be compassionate to others, even if he didn't like them all that much, and to help and protect those that were weaker than him. they shared a strong bond, and so despite his father's strict upbringing, the young tom grew up to be kind an gentle. badgerpaw has always made it his mission to get to know his clanmates and has created many friendships over the moons. he looks forward to becoming a guard, hoping to prove himself as a valuable part of sunclan.
