The adult iguanodon yawned, settling down somewhere in the middle of the herd. He didn't want to rest just yet, sleep not fully succeeding to pull him into its blissful claws. He eyed the other 'saurs that had yet to slumber, amber eyes gazing over the assorted species gathered together for survival.

During the peaceful slumber the female beast was enjoying, a faint scent has reached her snout. One eye slowly cracked itself open, followed by the other shortly after. Her nostrils flared, powerful hind legs forcing herself up. The scent was too tempting to resist-- the scent of meat. Fresh meat, too. Not any of the rotten carrion she had begun to become used to eating. The black carnotaur lumbered from her place of shelter, the cliff-face. Her large, three-toed and clawed feet sunk into the desert sand as she headed toward the scent. She could feel a rumble of happiness in her stomach. Maybe she'd actually get to eat something less.. stringy. Hopefully all that was at the killsite would be pesky raptors.

He growls again and lunges forward as a small band of raptors decend on his half eaten meal. Scar roars loud enough to scare them away, but soft enough that the herd won't be able to hear him, the big brute doesn't want the herd to stampeed away somewhere since it would take him a while to find them again. Scar snatches up a raptor and kills it, another small snack. He returns to his larger food and goes back to eating it.

The smell was beginning to get stronger as she moved across the desert, and farther away from the herd than she usually strays. When it began to become overwhelming, she knew she was nearing the deceased creature. A low growl rose in her throat, holding itself there. Ailis was readying herself to scare away a pack of raptors if needed to. That was all she expected as she neared a bend in the path she was taking.

As the female carnotaur moved around the bend, she froze. What she saw actually startled her-- she had expected a pack of raptors. This wasn't a raptor at all. No, the predator that called this kill theirs was something she didn't want to challenge.. seeing as it was another carnotaur like herself. Larger, brighter in colour, she assumed it was a male. The growl died down as she stared in confusion.

He puts a large foot onto the neck of the dead dinosaur he was eating, holding it down so he could tear a good chunk off. Scar eats the peice and lowers his head to eat more, but pauses when the slight breeze blows past his nose, baring the scent of the female carnotaur. Scar sniffs at the breeze, lifting his large head to look around the rocky area he was in, looking for the source of the intreging smell. The male hasn't seen or smelt a female carnotaur in many weeks and has thought to be the last of his kind, but the breeze has just proven the thought false, he wasn't alone. Scar snaps his jaws at a raptor that tries for the meat while the brute was distracted, making the smaller carnivor hiss and jump back. He looks around again and then makes a low grunting sound, calling the female carnotaur out.
