Nilari
ใ€–Femaleใ€—ใ€–Guardianใ€—ใ€–4 yใ€—
ใ€–Psychic Influenceใ€—
ใ€–Tags: Arcturusใ€—

'Ordinary,' is that how she came across as? Just ordinary? That wasn't entirely true at all, in fact... it was far from the truth. On the outside, Nilari looked like an abnormally tall she-wolf. Pitch black fur with amber orbs, as if the bright amber was swimming in a void silhouette. Muscle hidden underneath and a bite made to kill.

That's how she viewed herself, a killer but only for the good of the pack. Thats why she's a guardian after all. Yet she could be molded into something more dangerous. Something that any opposing pack would fear or even her own pack itself. The Beta's words rung in her ears, 'He's wary of me..' the she-wolf thought to herself. He was right of course, any ordinarything would infact retaliate if provoked.

Yet she wanted his attention. Not in the way she imagined but here he was, here with her. Alone. They were here in the grove. The crystals looked as if they were pulsing, waiting to drain the life out of whatever came near them. Scattered shards dancing around the bigger crystals, waiting to puncture. Nilari noticed Arcturus shift his composure, uneasy
it had to be the crystals. She wondered what the shards could possiblydo to her, how it would drain her ability just like that.

As Arcturus spoke once more, Nilari met his gaze as he moved. Studying his posture, watching as how he tested the sharpness of the shard sticking from the ground. A thought came across her mind. If this was some other creature entirely or a member of the pack she despised then she would easily shove that wolf into the crystal. A glint in her amber eyes spoke that for her. The she-wolf didn't reply to him as he spoke of her finding a way to drive back the poison in the air. Nilari had suspected the same for Arcturus, untouched by the thick poisonous air.

Silence. That's all Nilari could think. Only the humming of the grove is what pierced the she-wolf's ears. The quietbegan to weigh down on Nilari as she was being interrogated by the Beta. The word 'Plain,' escaped his maw. This caused anger to begin rising from deep within Nilari. Supressed by all other emotions she felt. Bottled up anger. She didnt hear what else Arcturus said. He was getting under her skin.

His question however snapped her out of what anger she felt. He knew. This ability shes kept hidden all this time. She had no reason to use it, not for some time anyways. His questions began to overwhelm her. Asking her whom shes used it on. It would be a lie if she said no one yet she hasn't used it on anyone alive for that matter. 'Starting give me a reason to use this ability on you.. Arcturus. ' Nilari thought to herself.

There had been times where shes wanted to dive into his mind, just to see if there was any trace of him being interested in her, but she never did. Again, it would put her at risk of being banished from her pack. The pack where she was born and raised. The pack she is sworn to protect.

The Beta's words echoed in her ears once more with a hiss in his tone. Her ears pressed against her skull as he lashed all of these insilts in her face. Baskara. That was who came to mind. The soul she bent to her will but not without a mark to remind her of the deed she had done. In her mind it was nessicary. But was it really?

As Arcturus snapped at Nilari, his gentle tone now gone. Beginning to threaten her in every way he can. She watched the male circle her once more, her head swivling to keep watch of him. Until she finally turned her gaze down to the ground below, her ears still pinned to her skull. "It was Baskara." Nilari finally spoke. Her tone quiet and monotone. She had supressed whatever feelings she felt deep down within her. Detached from reality.

Her mind raced as she recalled exactly what had happened that day in the Endless Forest. His grey pelt and black horns. Golden eyes. Nilari remembered watching as the light left his eyes. The taste of iron in her maw. Pushing the thought away she returned her bold gaze towards Arcturus. Wondering exactly what he was going to do.

Norilea (Lea) | Female | 2 1/2 years | Pupsitter | Bio-Luminescence Markings | Tags: Zariah

The small female notices a few others starting to move about but doesn't pay it much attention. Her pale eyes flick towards the den entrance for a moment as a sound of movement within catches her attention. After a few seconds, Norilea relaxes again when no other sounds of movement reached her ears. Probably a pup shifting in their sleep. A small sigh escapes her since she knows that once one of the pups wakes up, the others will be quick to follow.

Movement in the corner of her eye results in the light grey wolf turning her head to see the tall dark form of Nilari, soon followed by the beta, leaving the den site but pays it no heed. Her eyes involuntary drifts to the trees around the dens and a hint of longing appears in them for a brief moment before disappearing. As much as the young female wanted to explore the wooded area, Norilea has a duty to watch over the pups and also still has a old fear of having another incident like the one that happened while she was still in training.

Shaking those feelings away, Lea turns her attention back to the entrance to the pup's den which in turn makes her miss the return of the hunter Zariah. She takes a deep breath of the poisoned air, grimacing slightly, and starts to wonder, not for the first time, what it would be like to live in an area that wasn't effected by all the toxins as their territory is. Leaves crunching underfoot alerted Norilea to the fact another wolf is heading her way and snaps out of her train of thought to see Zariah approaching.

He may only be a little older than her, but she could still remember him being one of her main trainers when she was an adolescent and the confusion she felt when he started to disappear for extended times and then suddenly disappeared. She had originally thought him dead until he suddenly reappeared not that long ago. Norilea has yet to ask him why he left and then decided to return since she is still trying to figure out how to feel about him since his return brought up her old hurt and confusion which is warring with her relief and happiness that he is alive and back.

Lea tilts her head a little when the darker grey male dropped the two rabbits, one normal looking and the other with an extra ear, and sniffs at them but doesn't show any indication that she is going to eat them. Whenever possible, she would give the pups fresh meat and the two rabbits will feed the few pups the pack has a lot better than that raven the beta brought in. She knows she should also eat as well but she always made sure the pups are eating before getting something for herself. Norilea doesn't eat much anyway so something small from the kill pile once or twice a day is fine with her.

One ear turning toward the den entrance, Norilea adjusts herself to a sitting position but even then, the small she wolf still had to raises her head to look at Zariah's face. "Thank you Zariah," she says in a gentle voice, "I will save them for the pups." Hesitation shows for a moment on her face before she finally asks, "How have you been?" What she really wants to know and is scared to ask is if he is planning on leaving again in the future or if he intends to stay. She knows that Jasmin is his adopted sister but that didn't stop him from leaving the first time. She didn't want to open up and potentially start a friendship with him again unless she is sure he plans on staying so for the moment Norilea keeps her emotions at a bit of a distance

Ire- m- 4 y- Guardian- light vanilla like scent- Accelerated Healing- homosexual- crush: Icarus, Saphir a bit- mate: open- pups: would like to adopt- was adopted by a kind she wolf named Nana- had/has adoptive siblings- Tags: Icarus

The blue eyed, pink nosed white wolf yawned and sighed. Shaking his head, he flicked his tail gently back and forth. His ears went back a bit as he then began to coughโ€ฆbut soon heโ€™d stopped coughing. He sighed with relief, hoping it was just a tickle in his throat. Hoping it was just a passing thing. Hoping he wasnโ€™t going to continue to cough anymore that day. Flicking his tail back and forth, he let his eyes wander the camp. He watched some of the other wolves as they had interactions with one another.

However, he was looking for one wolf in particular. He was looking for a handsome fellow by the name of Icarus. He saw Norilea and Zariah, he saw Arcturus and Nilari. He even saw a couple of his other pack mates, including Nighthawk, but not Icarusโ€ฆyet. Then finally, he turned his gaze another direction, and spotted him. His tail began to wag, and he could not stop it. He ran over to the other male, and said โ€œHello. I mean umโ€ฆgood morning, how has your day been so far?โ€ he switched to a question instead of a hello.

The words had just spilled out of him. He almost felt embarrassed over this factโ€ฆbut he tried to push away the feeling of embarrassment. Instead, he put a lovely little smile upon his maw. Turning this adorable smile on the one he had a crush on, besides Saphir.

He had a major crush on Icarus, not that heโ€™d tell himโ€ฆnot yet. His crush on Saphir was quite a small one yet, though could maybe grow. Unless he and Icarus ended up together. Not that he was thinking about that at all yet; what he was thinking about was conversation.

Nighthawk- f- 4 y- Scout- soft sweet floral scent- horns (medium sized black)- bi- crush: Arlowe- mate: open- pups: wants some pups one day- had an adoptive father but doesnโ€™t actually remember his name now- Tags

The fierce, when needed, loyal, loving, lovable and social she wolf yawned a bit. Twitching her ears as she lifted her head. Her tail flicked back and forth gently a couple times. She then stopped it from doing that, and let her eyes wander the area. The good an just, focused and serious, but silly and willful and withdrawn one sighed. She didnโ€™t see any others yet. She glanced back towards the dens a moment. Sheโ€™d been in one such den herself, until sheโ€™d decided to get up from her nest and go out.

The passionate, intelligent dreamer glanced around again. She saw Arcturus, then she glanced over to see Ire exiting a den. She nodded towards the male. He didnโ€™t really do much, didnโ€™t truly look at her, so she wondered if heโ€™d even noticed her. The sometimes shy and nervous, sometimes wild and loud one sighed again. It wasnโ€™t like she cared too much, though. The slender black phase wolf would like to be his friend. He seemed distracted at the moment, maybe searching for Icarus or Saphir.

She didnโ€™t know, sheโ€™d never paid much attention to that. All the white toed she wolf knew was he seemed close to Arlowe. Arloweโ€ฆher crush, such a handsome wolf. She wanted to tell the male, but every time she thought she could, sheโ€™d get hit by nerves.

She let golden eyes glance about again. Looking for Arlowe and shoving away the thoughts of how she could never seem to tell himโ€ฆShe wondered if he could deal with the fact she bottled things up and didnโ€™t always listen. Shaking her head, she shoved thoughts away once more.

Espada - female healer apprentice - crush is Diablo a bit - Bioelectric charge - tags: Jasmin (kind of), open

__
She woke up after a very weird dream, it was kind of like a nightmare, but she didn't wake up frightened at all, more confused. She remembered the dream even after her waking up, as it did feel rather real, but didn't make any sense at all. Shaking her head a bit as she tried to forget about that dream it was just a dream after all, they didn't mean anything especially those with no sense at all. She looked like anyone or anything was not close to her at the moment as she started to stretch her legs and body, making a little electric charge come out of her body a bit, which was normal. She thought she could control her skills, which she did actually very well, but for some reason when she stretched the electricity just came out for a short moment. The moment was short, but getting too close to another living thing or a weaker object like herbs which she could give them a little shocking burns. Her mentor would likely not like it if she electricity their precious sometimes very hard-collected herbs into crisps, every time she walked near them which she needed to do very often as she was a healer apprentice after all.

As she left the healer's den, she immediately turned her head to the one male hunter there, the Zariah, for some reason, almost like she had the feeling he was being thought about them, but of course, it could be only her imagination as she was not mind reader at all. Shaking her white fur a bit as she looked toward the fresh-kill pile there for a moment then around the camp to find her mentor. She could not be far and she could be still at the camp, she could not leave without at least telling her about it.

Kaientai - male hunter - crush on Arcturus - psychic abilities - tags: open

__
The young hunter rolled around the small grassy bed near the camp clearing, not knowing why was there a pile of grass there, but the place was soft and he enjoyed just rolling around at it. Shaking her dark russet pelt which was now covered with grass and earth, her eyes looked over the camp as more wolves seemed to get up and ready for the day, no patrols were up yet as he didn't see or hear any of the high ranking wolves say anything actually he was not even seen the alphas, Elizabeth or Dagfinn, even Equinox the beta female was not out yet, or maybe they left the camp before he got out of the hunter's den. He wondered a bit but shook his head then as he looked over to the beta male Arcturus the handsome black wolf talking with Nilari the guardian. He narrowed his eyes a bit then shook his head, he didn't want to admit it to himself, but he was a little bit jealous of the good tension between the two dark wolves back there and he was even a little jealous of Equinox too rule the pack as a beta alongside Arcturus. He hated to feel that way and always blamed himself for being too weak to even let his mind think that way, it was not his decision what the others did. Even if he had the skills to manipulate and maybe even read others' minds, he tried his everything not to do that, he didn't want to risk getting overpowered by his own powers and likely harm those around him.

He sighed a bit getting down to his belly to the grassy, now very messy spot, and landed his head to his front paws. His eyes watched the other wolves doing their own things and waiting for any orders to be made, for him to move for the daily tasks.

Saphir - male scout - crush is open - Antlers - tags: open

__
A large gray-silver wolf male left his den, yes it was his den, he didn't sleep in the same den with others, instead, he was made a little den near the bigger dens. The reason was that he was always a restless sleeper, he kicked and rolled around as he slept, and with sharp antlers on his forehead moved like those could be dangerous for anyone near him especially if he was sleeping and was not completely unaware of his movements or surroundings. He learned the danger of his antlers at a very young age when he accidentally stapped his own mother during his sleep when he was still a pup. It was not a bad injury, but after that, he was afraid to sleep near others, even as an adolescent he slept far from others and didn't let anyone sleep near him. Many nights he slept outside of the dens, to be sure anyone was near him, at warm nights it was not a problem, but on cold nights it sure was difficult to sleep outside, that's when he decided to make himself a small den there, only to himself to sleep at.

He sat there near the entrance and looked for anything to happen or anyone to give him something to do. He could be scouting the lands, but then again he needed to make sure the pack knew where he was as the lands they were living in were not the safest ones, there were plenty of dangerous places even for mutated wolves.

Reaper - female pup sitter - crush is open - tail weaponry - tags: open

__
She entered the nursery's entrance, as the pup sitters did stay in the same den with mothers and their pups. She sighed a bit as she looked around the still somewhat calm camp. Her ears perked back and forth to the nursery as she could hear some of the pup's faint conversations, which gave her a little odd little anxious feeling. From a young age she wanted to find a mate, and have her own little family as an adolescent she thought that could be easy, the right male just walked her way and that's it. She was four years old at the moment and none of those dreams has not come true and a little bit she felt that maybe that's something she was not able to have.

Sighing a bit she let her long black tail over her paws that tail felt like a normal furry tail, which was a little longer than a normal wolf tail. It could be used as a safe pup's toy as it could not hurt anyone if she didn't use it to hurt. The speed and strength of the movements make the tail a dangerous weapon as it could easily cut things down, or she could even strangle or toss into the air. Of course, even she had her limits, smaller wolves or somewhat near her weight could be easy targets, but larger than she was, her tail could not do much.

Lazzaros - male omega - crush is Cylas - Venomous fangs - tags: open
__
The young golden omega watched around the camp from a safe distance. He didn't want to walk into anyone or give them a reason to go to him. There were always those who wanted to blame him for any misfortunes they had in their lives, which he had nothing to do with. He also knew he could do some workings as an omega, likely give some prey to the mothers, pups, and elders, and ask if he could clear their dens, but he had a problem, which made him not do those if he really did not need to. He didn't take those things because he didn't want to, but as he was afraid of them, he could need to crap things by his mouth, with those venomous fangs he had, which could kill an adult wolf in a very painful way. He looked around his eyes turning to Safir there a bit, hoping he also could have those horns or antlers, then he could use them to move things without using his fangs and accidentally maybe poisoning someone.

He looked the ground uner his paws, pawing the dirt a bit, wondering what is his purpose in this pack. He could not help anyone, he could not do naything, he was only good of killing others by accident, which he was not done yet, but there was being very close calls.

There was only one word on his tongue now: Baskara. He impatiently rehearsed it in his mind, but it gave him nothing. It resisted himโ€”silently, smuglyโ€”a locked door with no key. What did it mean? To her, however, it was heavy, a rope of lead around her neck. It shaped her. He could see it in her hunched shoulders, in the lusterless swirl of her eyes, which seemed to darken and sink beneath its weight. She wore the name like a raw wound, exposed and foolish. That name was her confession, and sheโ€™d let it slip without realising how it exposed her, how it bled her dry for all to see.

Why? Why now? What was it? Or more accurately who?

The thing about Nilari, Arcturus thought, was how little she seemed to know herself. She played at stoicism, at resilience, but she had no guile. Not like him. Her mysteries didnโ€™t hide. But Baskaraโ€ฆ this was different. It clung to her and it mocked him because for once, he couldnโ€™t see through it. His mutation, his desperate bid for control, demanded he strip the truth from her. Even after all those splintered insults, chaotic and unjustโ€”she had not lashed back. Instead, sheโ€™d given him a morsel, a crumb. A piece of the puzzle he had been starved for these past weeks.

And yet, it wasnโ€™t enough. It would never be enough. Control was an appetite with no end.

It stained him now, dark and sticky, pooling beneath his claw-tips, blooming across his skin like pomegranate. Control was his religion, his sacrament, and it demanded everythingโ€”mind, body, soul. He would reach for it again and again, until it destroyed him. Greedy paws, grasping for divinity, for a power that would not let itself be held. The leash of his longing tightened, frayed, and snapped.

It was settled, then. He would go too far.

โ€œIโ€™m sorry. But it must be done.โ€
    he murmured, the apology paper-thin.

The Beta folded himself into the space before her, his movements lazy, though tension bristled beneath his skin. Arc's tail behind him twitched faintly, like a seraphโ€™s wing clipped and left to rot. Daylight turned him to glass, his gaunt edges sharp enough to cut. He did not meet her eyes at first; his body shifted into stillness, a lithe body drawn taut like a wire ready to snap. His faceโ€”the face that so often melted with expressionโ€”became empty, inhuman. Gaunt hollows carved his cheeks, his lips bloodless. He gave her no more warning than those words before he beganโ€ฆ

And then it started: the stillness, the silence, the invasion.

Arcturus reached for her, but not with limbโ€™s. His jade eyes widened and swallowed her whole. She would not have time to resist. He poured into her, unapologetic in his violation. It was savage, unrelenting, his mind unraveling hers in jagged lines, tearing through her cobweb-like defenses. He had let this mutation rattle behind his ribcage of a prison for too long, and now it consumed them both. Her mind buckled, but he did not stop. What he sought was not peace or understanding. It was glutinous. It was the truth.

The first thing he found was pain. It engulfed him, choking him with its thick, acrid weight. Her thoughts spilled into his like, a hemorrhageโ€”images sparse and incomplete. Ashen fur. Horns black as charred bone. Blood. Always blood. Nilari wore death like a perfume, metallic and cloying, something ancient and bitter that lingered long after the body was gone. Death had a tasteโ€”it always didโ€”and hers was no different. He knew it well: the copper tang, the grit of dirt in teeth. He could feel her guilt now, raw and weeping, tangled up with memories of a name: Baskara.

The male had never ventured this far into anotherโ€™s mind before. This was no surface-level trespass, no delicate skim of her thoughts. He entangled his mind with hers. He couldnโ€™t stop. He couldn't help it. And thatโ€™s when he found it

    โ€” Himself.

His own image flickered there, nestled in the subconscious folds of her psyche. She felt for him. Felt. Arcturus, who had long since trained himself to recognize the weaponry of emotion, saw it for what it was: an infection. A sickness. Something soft and unnameable blooming where it should not. Fondness, perhaps. Curiosity. But also a lot of anger, resentment. He recoiled from it, from the knowledge that she carried him like a wound she could not heal.

    It was too much.

His power buckled, snapping back into his own body with the force of a whip. His body trembled as his energy drained from him, purged by the sheer intensity of what he had seen. Sweat slicked his face, meandering down his neck in cool rivulets. Gasping for air, his narrow chest heaving, but it wasnโ€™t enough. His body, too frail to house such reckless ambition, threatened to collapse under him, as he breathed "Turns out the pedestal you stand on isnโ€™t quite so stable."

He did not move. Could not. With his spine jutted out like the ridges of a barren mountain range, sharp and desolate beneath his fur. And still, he forced himself upright, sitting tall despite the exhaustion that lured him to the dirt. He would not let her see him. Not now. Not ever.

โ€œHow did it feel, Nilari, to murder your own blood?โ€ The question hung between them, full of implication. It was a quiet accusation, an idea that painted her as betrayer, a villain, someone the pack may not trust any more. In truth, a reflection of himself.

โ€œYes, Nilari, I know everything,โ€ And then came the expression a rictus of false kindness. โ€œWhat would the others think, I wonder? What would they say, if they knew your little secret?โ€

He would twist this, turn it into his weapon. And her feelingsโ€”those secret feelings she harbored for himโ€”he would bury them deep, keep them hidden. Not for her sake, but for his own. For in their concealment, they would serve him well.

And so, the net was cast. Let her struggle. Let her fight. He would reel her in all the same.

Dawn was possibly Jasmin's favorite time of the day. She woke feeling rested and refreshed. She loved to watch the sky change colors as the sky rose from her spot at the edge of the densite, where she sat now. She loved the moment of peace and quiet dawn brought her. When she didn't need to worry about anything or watch out for anyone. No one needed anything from her, except for those rare, unfortunate times when someone managed to get injured as soon as they woke up. She loved her rank here at the pack. She loved taking care of her pack, but it was also nice to get these moments of quiet to let her mind wander and reflect.

Most of the time, anyway.

Her thoughts had a tendency to wander to darker places when she didn't keep them in check.

She hadn't kept them in check this time.

Jas stared up at the sky without seeing. Completely absorbed in her thoughts. Not even paying attention to the fact that her packmates had started to leave their dens and go about their day.

Jasmin was constantly aware of her mutation. She could feel it sometimes underneath her skin, like it was beckoning her to use it. She hated it.

She had the power to do so much good for her pack. With her mutation, she could calm distressed wolves to prevent them from injuring themselves or just sooth their nerves. Her empathy could mean she shared someone's pain when they needed someone to talk with and lean against. But she knew her powers could also be used for dark, manipulative purposes, and that scared her. How easy would it be to get frustrated with some wolf because they were panicking and use her mutation on them? Without their permission? And, if she did it one time, would she do it again? And again and again and again? Until she couldn't even count the times she had manipulated a wolf's emotions against their will? Would she do it until it became easy and natural to her?

Jasmin shuddered. She never wanted to be like that, but she worried that power like this could corrupt even the gentlest of souls.

So, this was why she rarely ever used it. Why she didn't keep her mutation a secret. In the hopes her packmates would keep her in check. The hopes that the suspicions any of them might voice or hint towards her would remind her how dangerous her mutation was.

Footprints behind her pulled Jasmin out of her thoughts. As she glanced back, her eyes brightened with happiness. "Espada! Good morning. I hope you slept well." She flicked her tail to the side of her to beckon Espada to come sit with her. "I was just enjoying the sunrise," she added, even though Espada likely already knew that. Jas' morning habits weren't a secret at all. "It was very beautiful today." What she saw of it before she zoned out, anyway.

"Healers and pupsitters... You're both the same. Always taking care of others first before yourselves," Zariah said, but he finished with a melodramatic sigh, just to show Lea he wasn't being serious... Mostly. Zariah understood their need to take care of others first before themselves and even respected it to a degree. Heck, he did the same for Jasmin often, making sure she had enough food and giving up his food if she hadn't. But, Zariah also thought some wolves were too extreme. Either that, or this was another characteristic that made him a better lone wolf than a pack wolf. After all, he wouldn't be giving up his food to anyone who wasn't Jasmin. How was he supposed to hunt to bring in more food if he didn't have the energy?

Of course, this was more his gripe with Jasmin who often put others' need before herself, whether food-related or not. Just because Lea was feeding the pups first didn't mean she was too extreme. Or maybe she was. Zariah didn't know. He wouldn't focus on it.

His ears pricked slightly when clear hesitation flashed across her face, wondering if she'd finally bring up Zariah leaving. A topic some had painfully tried to avoid, while others had felt no hesitancy bringing it up... And showing their disproval. Honestly, Zariah preferred the loud disproval of some wolves here rather than the timidness from others. It was hard for him to get a read on where he stood with them. While, with the loud ones, he was very aware where he stood.

He also preferred the loud, disproving wolves because, y'know, they were pretty fun to mess around with and rile up. So, there was that.

Her question, though, did not have anything to do with Zariah leaving. It was such an empty question. Either tossed out there because she didn't know what to say or because she was too afraid to say what she did want to say, but it was also an easy enough question for Zariah to answer. He didn't have to run off and pretend he'd all of a sudden gotten super busy.

""Eh, fine. I've just been hunting a lot, getting bossed around by the healers, and, most importantly, annoying a packmate here and there in my spare time..." He glanced to the side as he saw the other pupsitter... Reaper...? Anyway, she walked past them and into the nursery. ""How about you? Any of the pups acting like little monsters lately?"

Sirius-2 moons old-female-retractable claws-tagging:Norilea

Sirius stirred slightly light shinning in from the entrance of the den shined onto her face. Sirius didn't open her eyes right away letting the little bit of sunlight warm her black fur Sirius let herself get ack into a doze from the sun warming her fur and the sound of the other pups breathings. She heard someone moving outside the den and she snapped out of her doze and opened her eyes cringing and shutting them again at being flash banged by the sun.

Sirius lifted her head up pulling her face from the sun light shining in and opening her eyes squinting as she waited for her eyes to adjust to daylight. Sirius let out a yawn stretching out before she got up to peek out of the den to see who was walking around out there. Sirius didn't get to look out of the den before she could hear some wolves talking.

Sirius peeked around the corner of the den seeing one of the pupsitters talking to a wolf Sirius didn't know. Sirius watched them for a moment before she saw the rabbits laying next to Norilea and Sirius's stomach growled as if on que. The pup sheathed her claws and lowered herself into a crouch.

The pup started to crawl along the floor trying to keep from being seen as she creeped over to the rabbits. Sirius snagged the leg of one of the rabbits trying to pull it away Norilea and the male wolf Sirius didn't know. Sirius wasn't as silent as she thought she was being.

Norilea (Lea) | Female | 2 1/2 years | Pupsitter | Bio-Luminescence Markings | Tags: Zariah, Sirius

Norilea smiles slightly at what he said as she moves sightly to get into a more comfortable position. "Don't worry, I plan on eating in a bit, I just like giving the pups fresh meat whenever possible," She says as the dark form of the other pupsitter, Reaper, entered the nursery. She nods slightly to what he said, before replying, "Sometimes, but it usually from the older pups since they are more rambunctious but they eventually listen. Be careful out there." She knew it may be useless to say since he did spend time as a lone wolf and is also a hunter but the small female still hopes he would be careful out in the woods due to the unpredictable nature of some of the woods inhabitants.

A small chuckle comes from her when he mentioned bothering other pack members. She has yet to witness it due to most of her time being taken by the pups but she has heard about it. Lea was about to ask him if he had any plans to do so when a movement caught her attention, a dead rabbit moving away from her. The small pupsitter smiles warmly as she turns her attention to the black pup, Sirius, as she says, "Morning Sirius. Did you sleep well?"

She had heard movement from the den but she wasn't sure if it was Reaper or one of the pups making noise until Sirius appeared. Norilea lowers her head to gently push the rabbit the pup had closer to her so that the pup could eat a bit before lifting her head. She turns her gaze to the den, wondering if any of the others are up and about since usually when one pup wakes, the rest are close to following. Listening for a moment, the light grey female relaxes again since she didn't hear any signs that would indicate the rest are alert before turning her gentle gaze back to Zariah.

โ€”(โ€ขยทรท[ Nilari | 5.

Nilari
ใ€–Femaleใ€—ใ€–Guardianใ€—ใ€–4 yใ€—
ใ€–Psychic Influenceใ€—
ใ€–Tags: Arcturusใ€—

Baskara's name left her tongue, unaware of what she had done. Exposing herself as so, her expression on her profile spoke for itself. The female sat down on her haunches lost in that painful memory replying over and over again in her head. A flash of grey, obsidian horns, golden orbs, and... blood. His low voice, so calming yet filled with hatred. If only she wasn't so arrogant in the past. If only.. but that was nearly three years ago.

Nilari was staring right passed Arcturus not really hearing what he murmured. How could she? Here the wolf she was curious about, pressed her with questions. Accusations. Nothing entirely what she'd expect from the beta. But how could she? The she-wolf had no idea how this male really was. His intentions.. his goals.

There was more than what meets the eye with Arcturus. Nilari could sense something was off with the male. But what? What could it possibly be? It was when Nilari felt a prick in her mind, almost invasive. Her attention turned towards Arcturus. His state looked still and his eye wide open as if peering into something. She had no real control over her power and could only do so little to really stop Arcturus from peering into her mind.

There was no time to react.

Nilari was there with the male yet she couldn't exactly see or feel what Arcturus does. All she could sense was what felt like a nail being pressed into her head like her skull splitting in two. The pain ached as she closed her eyes until suddenly, it was gone. Her frame was tense as she sat there and opened her eyes to meet Arcturus. She studied every aspect of his body, the trembling, the sweat slicking down his profile and his gasps for air. She listened to his words as he was catching his breath. He had peered into her mind.

Nilari's body began to boil, her thoughts began malicious. How dare he enter her mind without her consent! Claws dug into the dirt beneath her as she kept herself from tackling the beta. Her bold amber orbs saw his pelt cling to his rigged spine before he forced himself to sit up straight. Now would be the perfect opportunity to lunge at him. To make him pay but something stopped her. Was it out of loyalty of him being a higher ranking wolf in the pack? Or was it her feelings? She felt tangled between her heart and mind. An inner battle between mind and soul.

His question hung between the two silhouettes as the male accused Nilari of murdering her own blood. She never told another living soul what she had done. A low growl rumbled in her throat as she sat there listening to everything Arcturus was saying. How dare he try to paint her as a villain. Seeing right through his false kindness, she could contain herself any longer. She'd return the threat.

She stood up and quickly towered over the weakened beta in one motion. She was now standing over Arcturus, fangs bared and a low growl left her maw once more. "You dare threaten me with such accusations?!" Nilari snapped. Her amber orbs on fire as she peered into the beta's green eyes. Oh how she could easily tear him apart. To show him what a villain she could actually be. How cold she could be. "What would they say if the Beta of the pack possessed an ability and manipulated the whole pack? They'd toss you out faster than they would me." the she-wolf began, "I've done nothing but serve this pack to the best of my abilities and I will do everything in my power to protect this pack!"

Her head lowered down to meet Arcturus, "Even if our own members are a threat... "

Nilari had managed to bring the two of them uncomfortably close to one of the crystals. She could feel how it reached out for her, to drain her energy. Her attention turned towards the glowing crystal, it's glow beckoning for her to come closer. Something in her snapped and Nilari shoved herself and the beta away from the crystal. Moving away from Arcturus, she turned to face him once more. Something in her had no desire to attack him, perhaps it was her heart taking control of her mind. She know knew his little secret.

He possessed the same ability as her and he used it on her. "I wonder how Dagfinn and Elizabeth would think of your little stunt you just pulled." Nilari threatened him once more. The ball was now in his court.

A pair of green eyes, the color of unripe fruit and sickness, flicked upward, locking onto the figure that now towered above. Nilari had finally unveiled the true specter of her darker selfโ€”or perhaps it was simply Arcturusโ€™ knack for stirring rot in the souls around him. He had a talent for coaxing out the worst in others, offering their comforts like tainted fruit. But here she stood, comfortable in her newfound height over him, lording herself as though he were a servant or worse. Whether this dynamic was of her making or his, neither could say. Yet the fact remained: she had arrived at this vantage, and he lingered beneath her shadow.

Adrenaline surged through his veins, sour and electric, a bitter pulse of clarity. Her threats werenโ€™t empty, and that was the crux of his fearโ€”if she had any sense, any resolve, she could destroy him. Tear apart the careful facade he had built and expose him as nothing more than a fraud with a psychic mutation. The pack would see him for what he was: a pretender. That was why his survival depended on this game, this delicate balance between her fury and her hesitation. He had never been a warrior, but Arcturus had honed subtler weapons: a silver tongue, a repertoire of tricks, and the uncanny ability to become exactly what was needed.

He had lived in this game of pretend for so long that it had swallowed him whole, forcing him to become the wolf they wanted, whoever they wanted. It was the only way he knew to survive. And now, with her, he would do the same. He had to. The stakes had never been higher, and ruin loomed closer than ever.

The Beta had been so consumed by the moment, so absorbed in her fury, that he scarcely noticed how their confrontation had drawn them toward a jagged crystal jutting from the ground like the edge of some malicious blade. And then, unexpectedly, she saved himโ€”from what, he couldnโ€™t quite discern. Death? Humiliation? Himself? Whatever the reason, it was clear: despite her anger, some small, unguarded piece of her cared. That was the part he would try to exploit.

โ€œWhat did you say?โ€ His questioned, soft and suffocating. Slipping from her shadow, every motion languid, but laboured. His fur still clung damply to his skin, and the glint in his eyes carried the suggestion of unease, โ€œYou donโ€™t know what youโ€™re talking about, Nilari,โ€ he punctuated, โ€œYou donโ€™t know who I am.โ€

โ€œNot only do you not have proof, but you're willing to spread lies about me, you're willing to threaten your higher ranking superior, with violence and threats, with just a slight prompt. You're unpredictable, and unstable. Look at you. Look at how easily I made you crumble, do you think the pack is safe with someone like that? What if I had pushed you further?โ€

His voice grew quiet, as he stepped closer to the she-wolf who had wanted to destroy him, his every movement a small dare. He anticipated she wouldnโ€™t follow through, her conflicted feelings betrayed her, and he leaned into them, eager to show her how much she would need to depend on him. โ€œWould you have hurt meโ€ฆlike your brother..โ€ He leaned in close, so close she could feel the ghost of his breath against her ear.

Then the Beta turned to brush past her side, around the crystal that nearly sealed his fate, before re-joining her, โ€œIf thatโ€™s the route you want to take, painting me as a manipulator, then I suggest you take a moment to think. Reflect on how long Iโ€™ve been in this pack. How high up I stand. The strong relationships Iโ€™ve built, the trust Iโ€™ve earned. Do you really believe Iโ€™ve made it this far without doing myโ€ฆ work already?โ€

His words carried a quiet implication, a weight that warned any defiance would bleed her dry. His destiny had never been given, only seized with a childโ€™s clumsy, brutish grip, and that hunger had warped him, pulling him deep into the grey, where lies were currency and control his only tether to love. It sickened him, this game of traps and whispers, but it was also his lifeline, the only form of connection he could bear. Now he offered her the same: to drown her doubts, to nurture the darkness in her soul, to make her his mirror.

โ€œThe truth is, theyโ€™ve never been as loyal to you as you are to them. Thatโ€™s the lesson you havenโ€™t learned yet. And if you keep stumbling, keep letting that temper of yours run loose, theyโ€™ll start to wonder if youโ€™re worth the trouble. Thatโ€™s how it always starts, quiet doubts, a few wary glances. It wonโ€™t happen all at once, but itโ€™ll happen. And by the time you realise it, itโ€™ll be too late.โ€

Moving forwards, he let it sink in, that thing he felt in her moments before, fear of abandonment, he fed it, he sustained her with her worst scenarios, that he had glimpsed at in his mind invasion, only to offer her what he wanted. And escape her accurate accusations.

โ€œBut I don't want that fate for you. That power of yours could be your salvationโ€ฆ Or your downfall. The difference lies in control.โ€ โ€”- โ€œI could teach you. Show you how to understand it. How to turn it into something they respect and love. Because if you donโ€™t? One day, even I wonโ€™t be able to stop them from deciding youโ€™re too dangerous to keep.โ€

โ€œAll I ask in return is this: keep what you know about me to yourself . And when the time comes, repay me with a single favor. I think thatโ€™s fair for my offering to save you and forget that nasty treason you just threatened your Beta withโ€ slitted eyes briefly met the glass cut edge of that magenta shard, almost blood red in the sunโ€™s molten hues โ€œI think i'm being more than generous..โ€

โ€œThink carefully. Youโ€™re standing on the edge, and without me, thereโ€™s only one way down.โ€

He sat before her, his shoulder dripping blood from the raven, his body bowed under the weight of exhaustion. He should have feared herโ€”a part of him doesโ€”after what she had nearly done to him. But he clung instead to what he had glimpsed in Nilari, those feelings she tried to bury. They were his way out, his way in. Through the lessons he proposed, he would chip away at her defences, shape her trust, mold her loyalty until it was for him. In return, he would gain what he had always sought: his own weapon, his own warrior, bound to him by something far stronger than fearโ€ฆ bound to him with a favour.
