Hawthorne gave a noncommital noise," I suppose so. But... I think I'm going to go look for Soren and my sisters. They've been gone much too long for my liking. " He said, rubbing his chin thoughtfully. The captain was getting more worried by their absence. Oliver seemed to know where they were, but he was sure he would have to bribe him with some sort of sweet to get him to talk. Hawthorne gave a soft sigh, nodding at Arkady, " Sleep well." He said, turning to walk out.

Arkady looked at Hawthorne and frowned. "Do you need help finding them?" He had been so occupied with her the whole day that he hadn't seen his siblings and probably would have known where they had gone if he hadn't had to take care of her. Plus, her Howler senses would help better than any devices the Quell had. Her expression was blank but there was a bit of concern under that mask. She sat up and rubbed at her eyes. Cold water would wake me up. Arkady could only see Hawthorne's silhouette from where he was standing in the somewhat dark room and she wondered if she too was just a figure. The only light was coming from outside in the hall and the natural moonlight shining through the windows.

Aurora felt Juniper grab onto her pelt and she winced slightly at the pull. "Can you shift?" If he was in his painted wolf form then it would be easier for her to help while also leading the group. While in her human form she could see better than the average human, her night vision wasn't as good as when she was the leopard sadly. The smell of the smoke was returning and she could see the light from the flames getting closer.

Soren was still shaky, steadying his breaths to gather himself. That could've gone better, but could've gone worse as well. He shot a brief glance at Donatello, narrowing his eyes with a brief glare. "Yo-y-you say that-at like your nex-ne-next plan is to push me into the fire," he grumbled. "An-And if you do, I'm ta-t-ta-aking you with me." He looked up as he had his scarf held to him, and he took it quickly, pausing a moment before muttering a small thanks. He loosely returned it to draping around his neck after wringing some of the water out of it, smiling momentarily at Basil's concern, though didn't lift his gaze. "I'm fi-fine," he answered, despite not being that confident. His entire back hurt, especially at the shoulder joint of his wings where their newly added weight pulled more. It wasn't new for his back to hurt from them, so he tried not to be too bothered by it.
He was surprised as his sister got up, snapping at Donnie, and he cracked a smile, laughing under his breath. It amused him, because he'd grown wary of the noble over the time he'd been stuck around him, even though he tried not to show his anger outright. He mostly didn't feel like wasting energy trying to get a noble off of their high horse, but he also had more important things to worry about. He grabbed a wing in his hands, gently wiping off some of the dirt that'd stuck to them, trying to minimize how wrecked his feathers would be. His wings themselves were fine, at least for the time being, just more stiff and now incapable of flying. He looked at Basil as he turned to his other wing, sighing softly. "Thanks... for standing up for me," he spoke sincerely. He had enough composure now not to stutter, though his voice was still a bit scratchy. "I'm really fine. It'll take more than a self-centred noble to actually hurt me." He looked up as he heard Alex, nodding when reminded of what they were supposed to be doing. "We need to get to that. Quickly. At least now it has the added bonus of being a warm area." He stood up, flapping his wings almost helplessly as he tried to get his balance, causing drops of water to scatter off of them. He cursed under his breath, pulling the still-soaked masses closer to himself. "Basil, could you get in the water real quick? It's safer if you aren't dry. I'll make sure nothing happens, don't worry." He offered her a hand, hoping to help get her attention off of Donnie.

" Sorry, sister Aurora" Juniper murmured, trying to right himself. His head still spun dizzily and the ground felt as if it were swaying beneath his feet. Despite this, he managed to stay upright- with support from Aurora. " I-i think i can" Juniper nodded. He shifted into his painted wolf form with only a little difficulty. Juniper leaned against her, still feeling miserable.

Don froze when Basil had begun ranting and raving but mostly because he was still jumpy after the scarf scare in the water. He frowned in confusion as she spoke but slowly he understood what she was saying. It wasn't something he hadn't heard before. After all, he didn't get as much credit as he deserved and he was use to being told that he wasn't intelligent. Especially when others didn't get what they wanted out of him. He chuckled softly and smirked, "Whatever ya say" he said calmly, not about to let his anger get the best of him and much less about to be intimidated by a child. He looked towards the forest. Honestly he couldn't care less if that fire destroyed the Howlers and took the forest with it. If it hadn't been for his plan, he would've grabbed his bag and walked right back into the caves and gone home.

Hawthorne thought about her offer for a minute. " I suppose I could use your help." He nodded, " Unless you're too tired." Hawthorne added, not wanting to pressure her. The captain was an excellent tracker, though he was no Howler. Arkady's well developed senses would be very handy in finding the royal siblings. " Come on, " Hawthorne said, making a motion for her to follow. He seemed to have forgotten that they were still in pajamas, or maybe it was that he just didn't care. It was evident that the captain was worried about his brother and sisters. All he needed was his trusty sword by his side and he was ready to leave.

Alex looks at Don with interest, intrigued by his reactions to Basil speaking. Most people Alex knows would've been surprised by how Basil had spoken out, but Don barely blinked an eye. Or at least, not after the first few seconds. She sidled up beside Don and whispered, "How do you do that?" She keeps her eyes on the smoke, only half listening out for Don's response. There's a whole lot of smoke and seems to be coming even closer. Alex pulls a handkerchief from her pocket and ties it around the bottom half of her face, providing a bit of a filter for the smokey air.

Arkady smiled and jumped out of the bed. She grabbed her weapons and slung her bow and her quiver full of arrows over her shoulder. She was still wearing her dark blue silk shorts and white shirt but she didn't mind. Arkady slipped on her black boots and walked out of the room. She breathed in deeply and closed her eyes. The smell of chocolate and spices overwhelmed her from the nearby dining room, but underneath it all was the scent of two royals. Arkady opened her eyes and her pupils went small as she looked at Hawthorne. Everything she looked at was clearer and more vibrant than before. "Try to keep up." She smiled as she shifted into her wolf form and began to run down the hall.

Basil ignored Donatello, focusing on looking over her brother's wings worriedly. They looked pretty bad, heavy with water and stiff. She was worried about him. How could he easily move with his wings like this? Basil anxiously tugged on her bangs, looking back at her brother. As he spoke, she felt a sense of relief as he said he was fine. Although, she wasn't quite sure if Soren was telling the whole truth. He did have healing magic after all, so she assumed that if he was hurt he could heal himself. Mustering up a small smile, she nodded silently. It seemed now that she was sure Soren seemed okay and wasn't angrily ranting at Donatello, her quietness and meek attitude had returned. Basil took his offered hand, murmuring a quiet thanks. It was easy to see that she was a little afraid of the water, though she wouldn't admit it. For one, she couldn't swim at all. But, the main reason was that she had a poor sense of how deep that water was and was afraid of falling in. Since Basil was blind in one eye, her sense of depth perception was really off. This made gauging how deep water was extremely difficult to do, even more so now that it was dark. Basil took a small breath to calm herself and waded into the water.

Hawthorne gave a warm laugh, the sparkle back in his eyes. " Don't worry about that. I can keep up with you.". He dashed after her quickly. The captain was very fit from all of his training. He could run for miles with a heavy pack and full armor without getting too tired. But, his muscular build worked to his disadvantage; he was fast and strong, but Hawthorne wasn't exactly built for bursts of speed. Arkady obviously had the advantage in her wolf form. But, Hawthorne wasn't going to let that stop him. He ran with her, keeping up easily.
