Hawthorne listened to her carefully, frowning a bit. " That's... just awful. " He said hesitantly. No wonder she turned to a life of crime. It was the only way to support herself... He thought. Hawthorne tapped his chin thoughtfully," Alright, I won't say I'm sorry then. I suppose that's in the past now..." He offered, in his usual slightly blunt manner.

Arkady finished her meal and breathed in deeply and leaned back. ”Please don’t sugarcoat this when I ask you.” She pulled her legs to her chest and watched Hawthorne carefully, making sure to see if he lies. ”How bad are things looking for me and what do you expect to happen?” Arkady wanted to know what would most likely happen to her in the next few days.

Juniper felt completely numb, despite the intense heat surrounding them. He held Ash protectively, feeling her go limp and her breathing go completely still. No.... please... Ash.... He thought dimly. Juniper's thoughts were getting slower and more broken from breathing in the toxic air. His shoulders shook violently with a silent sob. The only sound that escaped was a whine like a frightened animal might make. Juniper had failed to protect Ash and now they were both going to perish in the fire. He wished he could just lay down and sleep. Juniper had been fighting to stay conscious, but he didn't see the point now that he thought Ash was gone. He shut his eyes, thickly wondering how he wound up here on the ground and why he tasted blood on his lip. His muscles relaxed and he loosened his hold on Ash. Juniper thought he heard his name being called. His eyes fluttered slightly open and he saw two blurry shapes Leo? Aurora? . A feeling of hope rose in his chest, though it was just a small bit. He felt someone helping him up and a wave of nausea hit him. There was no way he could stand on his own, much less carry Ash. Juniper's legs buckled underneath him and he hit the ground with a soft thump.

Aurora frowned and got a stronger grip on Juniper. She used all of her strength to lift him off the ground. Her muscles were tight in her arms and legs. Just get them out alive. Her heart raced and she coughed violently as she breathed in more of the smoke. Her arm was looped around Juniper’s so he was leaning against her. Slowly, Aurora began to walk.

Hawthorne gave a small sigh, looking back at her. " Honestly, I don't know. Chances are, you'll get off easy considering you stole from a Royal. Since Hamilton got his book back, I don't see why you would get a harsh punishment. " Hawthorne leaned back and ran his hand through his hair. It wasn't really a nervous habit, but it did help him collect his thoughts somehow. " Then again... I'm not the only one who'll decide your punishment."

Juniper was very small for a male Howler, though it didn't make it any easier for Aurora. He was basically dead weight at the moment. Juniper's head lolled to the side as he was semi-conscious. Breathing shallowly, he tried to focus on Aurora. " A-ash.... needs... help..." Juniper murmured, falling into a fit of coughing. Ash needed help much more than he did.

Aurora looked at Ash and her still body. She wasn’t even breathing. She didn’t have the heart to tell Juniper that Ash was gone... for good. Instead she nodded and smiled weakly. ”We’ll help Ash, but first I need to get you out of here.” She began to walk to the opening in the wall of fire.

Numbly, Juniper let her take him towards the opening of the fire. In his heart, he knew she was gone, but he held to the faint hope that their was life still left in her. He lifted his head slightly to look at Aurora. " Please?" Juniper whispered, his voice barely audible over the fire. " S-she.... won't make it.... unless we help her...." He breathed. Juniper felt miserable about feeling so weak. He wanted to help Ash, but at the moment, he was struggling to even stay conscious and breathing.
