The Lead and some injured herd mates are positioned in the lower mountains, a little ways past the smallest bank of northern trees on the east side of the river. The other half, along with most of the foals, are positioned in the tree line at the base of the western mountains, on the west side of the river. The small forest is just across the river from them, only a miniscule distance south.
