War of Worlds - Band and Fight [STILL ACCEPTING]

Ah! Before you turn away, wait for a moment. I'd like you to think about a lush forest, thick with vegetation and natural streams. Mossflower Country. This land seems endless, stretching a vast expanse. It is the foundation to many groups: Redwall Abbey, Salamandastron, and the Clans of the Southern Shore.

-Redwall Abbey-

Redwall is home to many creatures such as mice, hedgehogs, moles, otters, squirrels, and a few shrews. They are bound by a code of non-violence:
-Always heal the sick and wounded, regardless of their appearance.
-Redwall is a place of abundant bounty. Therefore, always offer charity and hospitality to all.
-Last but not least, you must never resort to violence unless the order is threatened. Doing so can result in punishments.
Most of them haven't experienced war, yet it was shown that in the past that when push comes to shove, they can just as easily take up arms and fight. Redwall is ruled by a single monarch, usually hailed as Abbot [Male] or Abbess [Female]. They are usually addressed as Abbot, Abbess, Father, or Mother. Occasionally, there can be badger mothers within its walls. They are the care-takers of the Dibbuns, children of the Abbey.

-Salamandastron-

Translating into "Fire Lizard Mountain," Salamandastron was an extinct volcano. Its interior was hollowed, so that a quite large number of animals may live inside of it. They are known as the Long Patrol, a group of hares devoted to the protection of the shores and the inhabitants of Mossflower Country. The hares are skilled with a variety of weapons [Most of them forged by the Badger Lords] and even boxing. The Long Patrol is headed by a few high-ranking officials. [General ranking the highest and gallopers the lowest.]
Generals - Usually aids the Badger Lord and oversees the activities of the Patrol.
Brigadiers - Commands a brigade and ranks lower than a general.
Colonels
Majors
Lieutenants
Sergeants
Corporals
Gallopers - Scouts the area ahead for enemies and are usually seen as recons.
At the patrol's head, stands the Badger Lord. He/she is generally wise and great in battle. Most of the past badger lords have been possessed by a condition called: "Bloodwrath." When overcome by it, they are oblivious to anything and can only concentrate on their enemies. Unfortunately, the downside is that usually, they acquire many wounds while in that state, and are more prone to death than their fighters.

-Clans of the Northern Shores-

A relatively new group that has began to make it's appearance in Mossflower. The group is a large horde with strangely enough, four leaders. To break it down even further, the clans are made up of a random assortment of foxes, stoats, rats, and ferrets. Because of clans used to argue constantly, over which species of vermin is superior to the other. Each clan is headed by their own head chief, a member of their own species that generally is the strongest of the group. Before they've migrated to Mossflower, fights and slaughter has broken out among the ranks over which species is superior to the other. However, they've recently banded together, to form a horde thirsty for slaughter and plunder. So as a result, fights have died down, yet occasionally, some still break out over greed and pride.

-The Cartel-

The Cartel is a small company set up by Thaen. They have been at sea for many years, to the point where most of the crew can barely remember their homeland. (Devika, especially, considers herself very much a child of the sea.) The small boat that they inhabit is not meant for overseas travel, but is instead a small cutter that can go inland somewhat. Over the past twenty years, the Cartel ship - styled the Honeyspear - has slowly made its way northwards. Finally, the Honeyspear is on its way to Mossflower.
The ship has a crew of around 10 desert jirds (of which will be largely NPC'd). Jirds are favored because of their ability to do with little water for a long period of time.

______________________

Plot

Shortly after the alliance of the clan leaders, they set off to conquer both Salamandastron and Redwall. [You know how vermin get, greedy greedy.] I've never seen a beast conquer Redwall, so it could be interesting for Redwall to fall first compared to a battle mountain fortress. [So they establish their head-quarters there, and each vermin could maybe get a little over arrogant towards one another?] With the Redwallers they haven’t killed as prisoners, the vermin continue to conquer and become greedier. They ultimately are at each other's throats for more power. With this said, the leaders try to kill the others of their rank to try to have more power. They could do this by various ways: Stir up trouble between their followers and the species of another leader, hire an assassin, arrange the “accident” of another leader, etc. As the inner turmoil rages on, one night, the remaining Redwallers could escape and go to Salamandastron and join forces with the Long Patrol/Badger Lord.
Then, it literally becomes sort of the opposite of the books. Rather than have the vermin attacking them, the Redwallers and Salamandastron forces try to take the abbey back with force.

Rules

-All of Tess' Rules Apply
-No Mary Sue/Gary Stu [No Perfect Characters]
-Please read through your post to edit any possible grammar mistakes and/or spelling errors.
-Do not power-play other characters or god-mod.
Ex. of Powerplaying: Anna stabbed the rat in the throat and he died instantly. She laughed and then ran away to skip-rope while drinking tea.
Ex. of God-Moding: Lightning bolts shot the little fox and he turned into ashes right before everyone's eyes. The Abbot's rock-hard abs rippled as he flexed his muscles before shooting the next bazillion vermin with his laser-beam.
-Please roleplay in third person [So no: I saw the vermin and growled softly]
-Not really a rule, but it would be nice to have more vermin than Redwallers and hares
-Post at least three sentences per post.
-If you want to be the Abbot or Badger Lord, you must have already read one Redwall Book [Any book of the Redwall series.]
-[Added by Sharubii] No metaplaying, too -- metaplying is basically bringing OOC information IC.
Ex:
(( I'm gonna have my rat jump off a cliff because he'll be scared by the badger lord. ))

Rat Character waved his spear, bla bla.

(( Okay. ))

Stoat Character looked at Rat Character and said, "'Ey, mate, I think yer gonna jump off'n dat cliff over there soon."

-R e c a p s-

{Redwall}
-Nothing much apart from breakfast rounds.
-There is a bit of some talk about a possible feast [Probably to celebrate peace-filled days]

{Salamandastron}
-Unlike Redwall, there has been quite a few disturbances here. Laocoon, a fox, is hanging around the shores. Renalda, a hare, found him and reported it to two other hares [Romero & Leslie.]
-Romero sent Leslie back to the mountain and then set off with Ren to confront the fox.
-Laocoon is being taken to the mountain because he bears a flag of truce and now the three are waiting in front of the mountain, awaiting Bragarro to make an appearance.

{The Cartel}
-They're still in the waters, about to hit the shores of Mossflower. Their current location is a bit close to the mountain of Salamandastron.

{The Horde}
-All four warlords are meeting and most likely discussing their next plans of conquest. The four clans are acting raucously as usual, fighting amongst themselves tooth and claw, ferret against stoat, fox against rat, etc.
-Not many plans have been made yet.

(( WIP, not done ))

Name: Vartun
Gender: Male
Age: 42
Species: Stoat
Alliance: Stoat Horde
Rank: Warlord
Personality: Casting all vileness aside (as it is present in basically every warlord), Vartun can actually be quite the gentleman when he wants to be. He never spits at anybody, and he never bites anybody's ear out of rage -- in fact, he much rather prefers to just stick one of his prized daggers into the offender's ribcage and be done with it. Clean and easy. His manner of speech may be as rustic as any old vermin's, and his appearance not much help at all, but he always allows others to speak their piece -- make their case, if you will -- and never interrupts unless necessary. He doesn't even show his anger outright, if he can help it; when he actually does explode in a tantrum, though, it's rather severe and his hands always seem to shift to fondling the hilts of his weapons... and doing more with them than that. In regular circumstances, though, he's always outwardly calm and rational. And, remember, he never spits.
Description: Vartun isn't a very well-dressed stoat. Indeed, he's not even well-bathed, if he even bathes at all. His coat, which in ordinary circumstances would be a light chocolate brown with a creamy undercoat, is mudstained to the point where his entire body seems to consist of a mucky brown color, and in a few places the mud's even matted his fur into an unattractive tangle. Many of his teeth are chipped in some way and crooked, and an ugly pink scar runs from the top of his muzzle down his right side, cutting into the lip and ending just above the chin. He wears a patched and tattered cloak about him that conceals most of his body from the shoulders down, but when he pulls it back it reveals a broad, crooked belt strapped to his waist. Thrust into the pocket-like holes of the belt are somewhere between five and ten daggers, each of uniform size and shape: a short black hilt upon which protrudes a cold, metal blade, just a little longer than the hilt.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------

Name: Reema
Gender: Female
Age: 27
Species: Mole
Alliance: Redwall
Rank: Redwaller
Personality: Reema is a patient mole, and will not anger easily. When a noisy Dibbun or a disgruntled Friar crosses her path, she usually just smiles and uses her good ol' mole logic to (try) and make things better, if only by a minute amount. She has no problem with doing odd jobs for most of the day, and is often seen either in the kitchens preparing loaves of bread or in the infirmary, spooning globs of medicine to protesting Redwallers. This is probably because busy work always helped her to think, and whenever she's flustered and doesn't know how to respond to someone or something, she'll always look for something to do in order to calm herself down.

On a slight aside, she also detests fighting and is scared of blood, so whenever real conflict roils up, she'll amble somewhere else to (hopefully) be useful, away from the battlefield.
Description: Within a crowd of moles, Reema wouldn't stand out in the slightest. She has this look about her that suggests that she doesn't care about being unique or well-dressed, or even pretty, at that. She's just as tall as any other mole, with a stocky build, dark brown fur and beady black eyes; her claws are tinged with brownish-yellow from constantly doing chores and helping in the gardens (digging and such). Her face has the tendency to wrinkle at the slightest twinge of amusement, giving off a rather comical look. She wears a simple, workstained tunic that's just a few shades deeper than her velvety fur -- it's a bit too long for her, so she bunches the clothing up and ties a rope belt at her waist to keep from tripping over it every few steps. Other than the tunic and belt, she wears nothing else, even on her feet: she enjoys going barefoot, if only to feel what the surface she's walking on really feels like.

Re: War of Worlds - Band and Fight

Postby Caesol » Thu Feb 17, 2011 3:56 pm

Name: Malem
Gender: Male
Age: 56
Species: Mouse
Alliance: Redwall
Rank: Abbot
Personality: Although Malem may be a bit old, he has a young head on old shoulders. He is calm, level-headed, and above all, kind to way-faring travelers. Yet despite his good qualities, the kind Abbot is occasionally taken advantage of. Malem hasn't yet opened his eyes to the possibilities. He hastens to welcome all sorts of vermin with open arms without thinking of the possible consequences. They might attempt to slaughter the Redwallers after setting themselves upon the food, or may try to take over the abbey itself. Many defenders may call him an "Old Fool" for his beliefs.
He doesn't see why Redwallers need to slay vermin. Death is saddening in Malem's eyes. Whether a liar, outcast, saint, or Redwaller may die, it pains him all the same. He is a kind-hearted beast all in all, who tries his best to preserve life regardless of whom the life belongs to.
Even if they are defending the Abbey, it shames him to think that peace might disturbed and once again, honest beasts may die. Description: Malem is a gray-furred mouse with whitened whiskers, a constant memento of how old he is becoming. Luckily though, despite his looming age, Malem is stout enough to walk on his own, but has terrible eye-sight. Without his crystal-rimmed glasses, he'll be as blind as a bat.

Name: Wyren Shellstream
Gender: Female
Age: 15
Species: Otter
Alliance: Redwall
Rank: Sister
Personality: Wyren has the general personality of her species. She's rougish, happy-go-lucky, cheeky, and at times, gluttonous when it comes to hot-root soup. Often, she spouts nonsense campaigner's jests because she greatly admires the organized manner of the Long Patrol as well as their perilious nature. As she says, "If ye can't trust a Long Patrol hare, ye can't trust any 'are, mate."
Unlike most of the abbey babes, she wasted her time studying by slacking off and slinging stones into the pond. As a result, her writing, spelling, and other literary skills are very poor. The only thing that she doesn't seem to lack is her Otter Crew spirit.
Description: Wyren is dressed in a home-spun faded green tunic. She is a fairly small otter for her age, yet that gives her a bigger advantage over others. Because of her smaller stature, her speed is higher than a beast of bigger porportions. As for her weapons of choice, Wyren carries a long bow and a quiver of arrows across her back.

Name: Leslie Fortidon
Gender: Male
Age: 13
Species: Hare
Alliance: Salamandastron
Rank: Officer
Personality: Normally cheerful, Leslie [Pronounced Les-Lie not Les-Lee] is like a typical hare: A natural glutton, sly, sharp-tongued, and perilous. Despite that label, Fortidon has the reputation of starting brawls on the spot. Why some may ask? It is because he fails to keep his temper in check. This happens quite often in Salamandastron due to the insults flung at his feminine name. A simple misprounciation and his temper will snap. Luckly, this often makes him lose his better judgement, making him rush into battle before weighing the chances. His irascible and reckless behavior has caused him to drop ranks in the past. Last season, he was dropped temorarily from the Long Patrol for almost assaulting an officer of senior ranking.
Description: Leslie is a wiry young hare with boundless energy in him. He dons a red tunic, inherited from his father Mercutio Fortidon and carries a bow strapped to his back. His skill with it is unknown because for some reason, he chooses to use his fists more than his weapons. In short, he is better known as a boxing hare, a title granted to those of the Long Patrol who use the art of boxxing.

Name: Romero Dualblade
Gender: Male
Age: 20
Species: Hare
Alliance: Salamandastron
Rank: Lieutenant
Personality: Romero Dualblade is known to act as strict as a major towards newer members of the patrol. Like sergeants, Romero is fond of most terms as well as the gruff demeanor expected of a senor. "Guts for garters, tails for tea, scuts for soup, etc." The only way he acts like this is to better ensure the safety of the new recruits as well as to discipline them for what is to come as they move up the ranks.
Description: Romero is a fine specimen of a regimental hare. He wears an embroidered tunic with several medals pinned on that tell of his valor and bravery [Coincidentally, he also has a hobby of making medals.], though often his tunic gets torn because of the frequent wounds he accquires by charging head-first into the battle. Romero is fairly skilled with a sabre but when cornered, will resort to use anything he can lay his paws on.

Name: Urback
Gender: Male
Age: 44
Species: Fox
Alliance: Horde
Rank: Member
Personality: Urback is considered to be one of those lay-back-and-watch types rather than a bully. Unlike a normal ambitious member, he does not like to meddle in affairs and would much rather be towards the end of the horde than the front-line. The reason as to why is simple. Urback isn't as young as he used to be, he has gained more wisdom, but compared to a Redwaller or a leader, he is considered to be a bit slow.
Description: Urback is a marmalade fox with dark-colored paws and oynx-black eyes. Across his back are three faded scars that was said to be inflicted upon him by a beserk badger. He suffered a few broken ribs and to this day, has a bit of trouble breathing, but nevertheless, he has lived to tell the tale.

Name: Munroe
Gender: Male
Age: 29
Species: Stoat
Alliance: Horde
Rank: Member
Personality: In short, overly complex. In more detail, Munroe doesn't speak much due to his incoherent sentences. When he does speak, he often speaks far too fast for anybeast to understand, so due to his irritating speech pattern, he has been forced to use paw-signs and small words used to indicate his thoughts. Moreover, his absence of speech/choice of words has presented problems to the hoard. By not speaking quickly enough, he has often been picked on for his seemingly "dull" manner.
Description: A brown mottled stoat garbed in tattered clothing. He has a gangly build and a fairly thick skull that almost seemed to have been created due to the constant head-lumps he earns from confusing a higher-up. Tied around his waist with a sash, he carries an old spear along with a few pebbles for a broken sling.

Name: Halfclaw
Gender: Male
Age: 27
Species: Rat
Alliance: Horde
Rank: Member
Personality: This rat could be easily grouped with a typical vermin member for his greed along with the fact that he is nothing more than an old bully. There is nothing more he likes than picking on hapless beasts, especially if there is plunder in the bargain. However, his bravado goes to a limited extent. When confronted by cold-eyed beasts, he'll try to take the easy way out by lying.
Description: Halfclaw is a large-bellied hulking rat. Like several in his clan, he dons sea-rat wear such as hooped rings, old boots, and silk sashes due to his previous occupation as a boat-swain aboard a galley. He hones his claws often by whetting them against a smooth stone yet due to several accidents in the past, has continuously chipped them, resulting in a half claw [Given his name].

Name: Rohan Nehru
Gender: Male
Age: 19
Species: Ferret
Alliance: Horde
Rank: Member
Personality: Rohan is sly and a regular silver-tongued rogue. He has a way with words and with ease, can easily change the mind of his clan mates. Whether it is by a cold blade or velvet-laced words, he has done it before. It is implied that he is different than the typical vermin. He does not gloat but prefers to hang back and keep his thoughts to himself. When ordered, he complies with it without a word. Yet like the rest of his kind, he is treacherous and full of guile, a personality befitting of an assassin.
Description: Rohan is fairly handsome. He is a dark-furred ferret with a crescent of white on his chest. As a show of his dark skill, it is rumoured that he wears the plunder of the beast he has slain. Currently, he dons a silky gray tunic held fast by a shark-skin belt. The only weapons he carries are twin daggers, both concealed underneath his black cloak.

[Accepted. <3 If you'd like, you could make some vermin. I believe it would be strategic if we start out by roleplaying them than the Redwallers and Salamandastron residents. If you've read the books, you could be one of the war lords. ^^ (To Sharubii: I think we might have to get all positions filled before we roleplay, right?)]

((Yeah, I was planning to add a rat or something as well. And sure, I could take on one of the warlords(preferably the rat warlord if that's alright), I've read almost all of Brian Jacques's books so far, so I've got a pretty good grasp on the Redwall inner workings and stuff. Though I may need to brush up on my vermin a bit, it's been a while since I read any of the books, probably about two years, so I'll probably end up re-reading several of the books.))

[Lol it's alright with me. No one has reserved the rat yet, so I'll reserve him/her for you. ^^ And have you read the Sable Queen? Sharubii and I have been talking about The Rogue Crew lately, and how we want to read it. Haha, the last time I've read a Redwall book was a year ago. I've been going on a quest to read them all again. (My favorite has got to be the Outcast of Redwall..) Now my vigor has increased due to the fact that Brian Jacques has passed away..
