it has been years since luna and celestia have passed on,
faithfully giving their abilities to four of their most trustworthy, most brilliant
students, and placing the four to rule over us, to protect us, to guide us. ah,
of course. you're not aware. celestia and luna used to be our princesses, celestia
guarding the sun, and luna guarding the moon. however, their time came more quickly
than any earth pony, pegasi, or unicorn could've ever predicted. so, celestia passed on
her duties to one of her students, and luna did the same to one of her own. however, to
avoid anarchy in the possibility that one of these new heirs might ever rise up, or suddenly
fall fatally ill, both princesses chose yet another student, each student to rule as an
advisor to the heirs.
but they're not the only ones who live in this city.
canterlot, the gleaming capitol of equestria. at least, that's what it seems like to the
average pony. a glimmering city full of dreams, hopes, and magic. however, secrets lie
within this city, tucked away so deeply within the shadows that the ponies of this city
would do almost anything to keep them hidden- almost anything to keep the cities
reputation.
but we're here to let these secrets loose.

talent, vanilla's talent is pretty simple, but her cutie mark describes it much better than she gives it credit for. vanilla loves to paint, however, due to her secretiveness about the issue, it hides behind her exterior, just like the paint brush hides behind the vanilla blossom on her flank. she received her cutie mark due to painting in a shade known as 'vanilla blossom', as that was her favorite, finding it iconic that it had the same name as her. she dislikes sharing her talent as she finds it useless.

backstory, vanilla blossom was born into a low-class family in canterlot. she never really minded the issue when she was younger. she had good friends, got a fine education, and genuinely enjoyed her life in canterlot as a unicorn filly. however, things turned bad as vanilla grew up and lost her younger brother due to starvation as the family became broke. vanilla's blame quickly turned to the alicorns for not saving her brother, and she has held a grudge ever since.
deformities,as for her leg, vanilla received the injury saving her brother from a collapsing board, crushing her own leg. it is now useless, and remains at her side at all times, folded up neatly against her stomach. luckily, it doesn't look odd except for the fact that she never uses it. otherwise, she simply limps most places. the limping itself is not too incredibly noticeable unless she attempts to run.

backstory: Quizzical "Quizzie" Glass was raised in Canterlot alongside her sister Gavel Point and brother Stained Glass. Their parents, Looking Glass and Drinking Glass, favored Stained Glass due to his apparent ability to keep the family business going. She grew up without much attention on her, and in result grew up to be closer to Gavel Point than Stained Glass. She now works as a popular mystery novelist, living in a moderately sized home in Canterlot with Gavel.

backstory: Cookie Crumble was a poor pony growing up. She had to take care of her siblings while her parents went out to try and earn money. She would always try to bake something to keep her siblings happy while her parents were away, with what few ingredients they had. She made a batch of cookies which earned her her cutie mark. She started work at a small bakery in Ponyville and eventually came to Canterlot. She now runs a successful bakery of her own.
