As you walk down the narrow mountain path, tired from your long travel, you hear a moan coming from above you. Curious, you climb the steep mountain path and find a cave hidden by large boulders. You peer into the cave, but see nothing. Just as you decide to leave the moan sounds again, making your fur stand on end. You turn to see a dark brown wolf limp out of the cave, its fur soaked with blood. You recognize the wolf as one of your old pack members that had left moons ago. You cautiously take a step closer. The injured wolf snarls at you then falls to the ground. Dead.
You pad over to the dead wolf and sniff at the body. Your fur stands on end and your muzzle curls up into a snarl when you smell the scent of your rival pack. They had gotten to this loner and killed him, which one of us will be next? you wonder. You slowly back away from the dead wolf then begin to run down the mountain path. You hurry down the mountain towards a large forest that edges the mountain side. A large wolf stands at the base of the treeline, to welcome you back.
"What news have you of our rivals?" the wolf calls to you as you run down the mountain and towards the forest. When you reach it, the wolf greets you with a playful nip on the ear. You pull back and tell the wolf of the death up in the mountain. The wolf frowns and howls up to the moon. It turns back to you and nods solemnly. "He will be missed..." the wolf growls softly then turns away from you and vanishes behind the trees. You follow the wolf for a long while then it brings you into a clearing.
Wolves of all colors and size turn their attention to you and rush to your side. This is your home and your pack.

History: When Shade was little, her father was killed in a fight in between their two packs. Her mother was too weak to help herself, too weak to hunt for herself, so she abandoned Shade in a small cave. Shade brought herself up by herself, soon growing strong enough to lead a pack. She named herself Shade because of how she found that she could hunt at night better, and she was good at blending in with the shadows with her black fur.
Personality: Even though Shade is pretty young, she isn't to be deceived. She picked up tips of hunting and fighting when she was young from passing rouges and loners. She is strong, and is sly at fighting, thinking of strategic moves most of the time. She prefers hunting rather than fighting, but can to well at fighting. She isn't one to forget, and if you double cross her, that will be your last move. Every day she may welcome in the stray loner, in hope of them knowing something about her mother, or even one being her mother. She isn't going to give up hope that her mother is alive somewhere out there. This fact makes her strong, and keeps her going.
