Lupinpaw chuckled. "Yeah, I did. I hid behind a bush all morning to see who would. Blackrose ate it, actually." He nodded, still proud of catching the hare, and how a respected pack-member had eaten it. "So what's the first type of prey you ever caught, Doepaw?"

She walked out of the warrior's den, watching her clanmates, only to recognize that again she was slept a little bit too late, but was it a big matter when she was not even needed anywhere.

As she left the waterhole, an unfamiliar scent of another dog comes to her nose, which was nothing new when they were likely inside some packs territory. Eventually, they will walk into the pack dogs sooner or later anyway, so why not make the first move to talk to them. Sniffing the air she followed the trail toward the dog she was smelled at "hello? Can you say where are we?" she asked gently showing up to the male dog, but keeping her distance.

He looked over to his sister, scenting the other dog as well, but unlike Flaming, he was not sure if that was a good idea to show themself to the pack dogs, but then again, they were inside their territory, eventually, they will find them there. He stopped next to his sister looking at the male dog "So this is a pack right?" he asked silently.

"Of course! Let me help you," he insisted and leaped to her side. Azurepaw held up her weight as she stumbled and limped, but he was as patient as he could. He turned back into the medicine dog den as soon as Dappleheart had settled and almost ran into the other medicine dog apprentice as she was trying to get out until she realized that he had asked for help. "Yes, I want your help cleaning," Azurepaw mused with a wag of his tail, feeling like a full medicine dog by the way she was speaking. It was almost like he was her mentor... but he knew that she had a lot of skills like him, and that would be mean to underestimate her. The medicine dog apprentice seemed upset that she didn't get to help treat, which made him smile and stifle a laugh. "It's okay. I didn't realize you knew about herbs and healing until I was halfway through," Azurepaw admitted. Even though there's no one else hurt right now, I figure she can help out in the den. And for as long as she's here, she could help me out with healing, he thought. He figured he may as well tell her that. Although Blackrose wasn't anywhere to approve this, he stated, "Y'know... for as long as you're here -- whenever a dog is injured, at least -- you could help out. I'm not a medicine dog yet, and I'm sure that you have skills that I don't. Plus, it'd be nice to have another dog help clean up and stock up on herbs." Azurepaw's thoughts were racing, but the one thought that didn't come across until after he said it was that she could easily return to her pack. He pushed them aside momentarily and asked, "I'm sorry, I've been rude this whole time. What's your name? I'm Azurepaw."

Doepaw chuckled at Lupinpaw's story, her tail thumping softly against the ground and kicking up dust.
"I can relate to that. My first catch was a little less than two moons ago actually." The younger apprentice closed her eyes for a few moments, trying to push the sadness down, "Now that I think about it, my mother, Rosetta, did most of the work. Anyway, she took me out of the camp to show me around our territory." Doepaw smiled softly as she remembered her mother's reddish/brown coat and soft, friendly voice. "We stumbled upon an old, sickly deer and Rosetta told me to chase it to her while she got down wind of it..." The female's voice wavered for a moment before steadying, "I chased it to her and she jumped on it's flank. I helped take it down and we took it home..." Doepaw trailed off and looked away. She liked talking about her family, but no one ever really asked her about her life before she joined Skypack. Since her initial questioning, everyone seemed to tip-toe around the subject of her family...which made sense. It was kind of her fault they were taken.

Quickleap froze, and whirled around, facing the two dogs, his mind racing. Two against one. Not good. I know the terrain better, though. He paused at their questions, and narrowed his eyes, not sure how to answer. Were they seeking information? Were they of Riverpack? Or were they so mouse-brained that they were oblivious to the markings Skypack warriors, including himself, had made? "Yes," he said finally, eyeing them distrustfully. "This is indeed a pack. Skypack. Who are you, and why are you on our territory?" he asked. Quickleap's tone wasn't aggressive, yet demanding. He was surprised by the two dogs, and knew that they were certainly most not welcome, but it seemed an old soft spot was rising to the surface on the male warrior.

Lupinpaw cocked his head at Doepaw, trying to connect her words together in his head. Her mother. Her mother. I really don't know much about her past. I remember her coming in, and the older dogs questioning her, but everyone refused to tell me what really happened. The older apprentice felt bad for her all of a sudden, though wasn't sure what to say. "I-I'm sorry," he blurted, before, adding awkwardly, "And, um, that's really cool. I didn't catch a deer till I was eight moons old." Lupinpaw had experience with tough back-stories, but he never really discussed his or others'.

Doepaw realized she was getting moody when Lupinpaw spoke and scrambled to put on a relaxed expression.
How bird-brained! She was having a light conversation with one of her packmates, one of the first that didn't seem unbearably awkward, and she went at ruined it! Looking to Lupinpaw with an apologetic smile, the younger apprentice lowered her muzzle to her chest sheepishly, "Heh, no need to be sorry...I shouldn't have gotten so...so down just then." At the slight subject change, Doepaw jumped to stop talking about her slight breakdown and put on one of her signature smiles. The female's tone was somewhat too bright and definitely too airy as she continued, "I bet you didn't need as much help when you caught your deer, I mean, you're a way better hunter than me!" Doepaw grimaced slightly at the jarring transition, shrinking back a bit and somewhat hoping for a dark place to crawl into and hide in.

Lupinpaw knew Doepaw was trying to drop the subject, so he answered it just as cheerfully. "It was Nightfire, Quickleap and I, I think. They pinned it from escaping, and Nightfire let me deliver the killing blow. It fed our pack for days!" Oh, wouldn't catching a deer just around now benefit their pack. That way no dog would go hungry; everyone could eat.

Darkclaw walked to the edge of the clan territory. She spun and barked, finding her inner puppy. Some warriors came back and gave her weird looks, but Darkclaw didn’t care. As she spun all her cares melted away. She didn’t stop until a crowd came and she got embarrassed.

Doepaw giggle lightly at Lupinpaw's enthusiasm, her former somber mood instantly forgotten.
"I bet! The deer I caught with my mother was sickly and small, but it still fed us for a few days too!" The younger apprentice flicked her ears back for a moment at the sound of a bird's sweet trill not far from the camp. She glanced at the fresh kill pile and noting the lack of deer, turned to Lupinpaw with a mischievous expression. "Say...why don't we go out and try to catch a deer ourselves?" Doepaw grimaced, remembering her sorely lacking hunting skills and amended her earlier question, "I mean, we don't have to catch a deer, but everyone else seems busy so we might as well practice..."
