The young pup’s eyes opened. She thought she heard Mouseheart. I should just let him be. She thought as she looked at Fallensnow’s pups. She closed her eyes again as she was still a bit tired. It had been a tiring day for her. The last thing on her mind before falling asleep was Firelight. She hoped her friend was okay.

He ate his part of the rabbit, leaving the rest to his mentor Willowstep, flicking his ears the mini Alaskan malamute, listened to the few warriors coming back to camp. He looked at Nightpaw for a moment " so you're still here? Are you going to join us too?" he asked curiously at another young male dog.

Emberstorm stifled a smile. Still his stubborn self. Though, she was slightly embarrassed that he had pointed out her limp. She decided to leave Mouseheart alone. Just then, Ashpaw came out of the medicine dog den and spoke to Nightpaw. Emberstorm winced at the direct question. She was hoping Nightpaw would like to join. But, she would prefer taking it more slowly.

He heard pawsteps and saw the dog called Ashpaw if he remembered correctly. When Ashpaw asked if he was going to join them, it made him think. I'm without a pack now that Duskpack is gone. I'm lonely and being around Eaglepaw and the others was making me feel better. But then living in a pack will bring up memories of my old pack. But I think they'd want me to join a new pack and move on. He nodded his head at Ashpaw "I will join you."

He looked at hi, then nodded "I see, you're then a second loner who joins Thunderpack" he said flicking his ears "you had a pack like a name so you're coming from another pack then?" he keeps questioning.

Eaglepaw could hardly contain his excitement. He was a young apprentice, and hadn't even been in training for a month, and although Duskpelt met with him and helped train him almost every day, they hadn't ever tried to hunt something big together before. "How do deer taste?" he asked, his head full of it's un-stoppable flow of question. "Do they travel in packs or are they alone?" His tail was like a little tornado; it couldn't contain itself.

Willowstep sat off to the side, not joining too much into interactions with passing dogs and their conversation but listening. She glanced at Fallensnow, the canine was asleep and she was glad, hopefully the rest would be long because of the exhaustion. she looked at the small pup too, smiling at their sleeping bodies before turning back to sort herbs, hoping for some company.

(I’m back, I’m so sorry for the late responses, life has been hectic I’ll be back on track more though for sure!)

Duskpelt let a small amused smile crawl onto her face, ”not as chewy as rabbit but definitely juicer. And they do sometimes travel in groups-not exactly packs though. But it’s more often you see them alone than not” she promised, sniffing the ground.

At Nightpaw's answer, Emberstorm felt a jolt of surprise and joy. Duskpack? I wonder why he isn't with them anymore. She stopped herself from asking it aloud. She didn't want to pressure him to talk about it.
