The pale tabby looked down at the two kits, her eyes blinking sleepily. "The orange, black and tabby she-kit can be Wolfkit?" She mewed with a slight purr. "She's very loud, like a wolf." The silver spotted she-kit wriggled widely, letting out a tiny squeal, as if she knew that names were being given and she wanted one now.

Stoatfur watched Foxfang, Ryemouse and their two kits quietly for padding out of the den. He looked around the clearing before bounding over to Fallenstar's den. He waited until Fallenstar gave him permission before he entered.

The dark tabby set Brackenkit's body down at his paws. "Ryemouse had her kits, one of them died." He reported, standing protectively over the fluffy ginger kit.

She turned her head towards Stoatfur, and her eyes widened. "What?..." Fallenstar stood up shakily and padded over to him. She sat down and looked at the kit with sorrow before laying her tail on Stoatfur's shoulder. "It's a shame,... all the lives being taken..." Fallenstar stood up again and sat back down in her nest.

He smiled and licked Wolfkit's head. "It's a wonderful name... And how about the Silver she-kit." Foxfang licked the other kits head and nuzzled her softly before looking back at Ryemouse. "How about Minnowkit? Because she's silver and so small." He chuckled as Wolfkit began licking her sisters pelt, mewing happily almost as if to say she liked her name.

He glared. At least the couple appreciated each-other. Frostclaw hadn't said a word to him all day. He sighed and stared down at his paws. He wondered if perhaps Frostclaw no-longer loved him. Was she really going to leave him? He had no idea, maybe she just had a lot on her mind. He stood up and paced around for a moment, before sitting back down. He blinked around camp. Sure, he had a mate, but what he really needed right now, was a friend...

He smiled. He had a mate... The best mate in the world. He stood up and, with a cheeky glance at Brambleheart, rushed away, feeling like an apprentice playing chase. He giggled and splashed through the waterfall leading to the river, into a small glowing cave. He waited patiently, knowing she could follow his scent.

Ryemouse gave Foxfang a surprised look when he said Minnowkit. "I remember before we became mates I said I liked the name Minnowkit a lot." She mewed happily. Minnowkit made a snuffling noise, curling against Wolfkit sleepily.

Stoatfur dipped his head to Fallenstar. "I just wanted to report Brackenkit's death before I went to bury him." He mewed, picking Brackenkit back up and hurrying out of the den and the camp as well.

Foxfang chuckled. "I know Ryemouse, that's part of why I chose it..." He licked her cheek and gazed down at the kits, his eyes filled with warmth and love. "Our little kittens, Wolfkit and Minnowkit..." Foxfang purred. Wolfkit yawned and layed her head down on Minnowkit's snoring softly.

"...and Brackenkit." Ryemouse added in softly after a moment. She leaned down, licking Wolfkit and Minnowkit's cheek before turning her head to groom some of the dried blood from her fur. Ryemouse blinked gratefully at Stoatfur when he came to help her.

After the dark tabby medicine cat had buried his sister's son, Stoatfur returned to camp, dragging his paws as he returned to the medicine cat den. He felt a little better when he saw that Ryemouse had relaxed a little. He still felt worried though because he knew how difficult her delivery had been.

Stoatfur settled next to Ryemouse, helping her lick some of the dried blood from her pelt.

She murmured, licking his cheek before resting her head on her paws, her long tail curling around the sleeping Wolfkit and Minnowkit. The pale queen listened to her daughters breathing for several moments before she fell asleep.
