That wasn't the answer he wanted. But how could he reasonably expect her to just say to a stranger exactly how much she could remember. And that's what he was. A stranger. But... She didn't know that. What if, what if he could make it better? What if he could be her new-old friend. No, no. He shook his head, accidentally displaying his internal confusion externally. He couldn't do that, he couldn't hurt her more. "No." He replied, in a voice much colder than he would've liked. "I didn't know you." He could only assume that 'Rin' was her, whether she'd put those pieces together or not.
He looked behind the girl at the clock on the wall. "We're going to be late. Do you remember what class is first?" after the words left his lips he immediately regretted them. Of course she didn't remember. How could he be so insensitive? "No, uh I mean... Sorry," he bowed his head and his face turned red. "I'll just ask the counselor." he muttered, before rushing out of the room before she could reply.
He ran down the hallway in the direction of the man's office. He skidded to a stop in front of the door and knocked, his stomach dropping as the ever familiar "enter, please" came. "M-mister Reed which one of our classes is first?" The older man looked up at the sound of Chiko's voice and grunted. "Sit." Chiko obeyed immediately, taking a seat in front of him and biting his lip. "I assume you've heard about Robyn?" he asked coldly, still perusing his papers. "Yes sir," "And you know that she is still recovering?" Chiko nodded. "And, I'm certian you know about the multiple reports I have received, and made, in regards to your conduct and current condition?" He opened his mouth to question what he meant by 'condition' but was interrupted. "I would've paired her with anyone but you, however, our selection process is completely random and it is not my place to interfere.
All I can say is I will not hesitate to report your case-file if you take advantage of her memory loss."
Chiko was more confused than he was already. C-case file? Current condition? Multipul reports? What wasn't he being told? "I-I don't understand," he stuttered, Mr. Reed only leaned back in his chair. "Your history may be well hidden, but our school prides itself on being able to screen all our students thoroughly." Chiko's mouth was agape. His history? What- how- who... "Your first class is biology, Maki, don't be later than you already are." The every cryptic Mr. Reed stood up and half ushered, half shoved, Chiko out of the office and closed the door behind him. Leaving him standing in the middle of the hallway, more confused than ever.
