{. Draco Malfoy .}
The Slytherin Common Room. It wasn't exactly what you would call 'homey.' The walls looked like they were styled after a dungeon, and they had a gleam that made it look like they were wet. That was probably due to the fact that the common room was actually submerged underneath the Black Lake. The windows, on the other hand, were perfect circles, the kind you might find below deck on a ship. In fact, if you looked close enough, you could see the huge squid that resided in said lake swim by. You had to strain your eyes, though, to see it among the dark water. Green and silver were draped everywhere, showing whose common room it was.

A certain platinum-haired Slytherin sat on one of the leather chairs in the middle of the room. Putting his arms on either one of the armrests, he lounged back. The way he sat proved that he owned the place. He may not be a prefect, or anything special, but everyone worshiped the ground he walked on. Part of it could be that he seemed to be Snape's favorite, or maybe it was because how he had this aura around him that made everybody either love or hate him — and even if they hated him, it didn't matter. But the real reason why everybody either loved, hated, worshiped, or feared this certain Slytherin was because he was Draco Malfoy.

Pride. Honor. Those two words were commonly associated with the Malfoy family. They were a family of purebloods. Everyone in their family was a pureblood wizard. In fact, everyone had also been chosen as a Slytherin in their first year at Hogwarts. And, just as Salazar Slytherin had wanted, they were the ideal snakes. They valued perfection above anything. They were honored to be a Slytherin. They didn't think mudbloods should be allowed to enter at Hogwarts. Of course, all Slytherins don't think like that, but that was how the original Slytherin was. Why shouldn't they follow their house founder's ideals?

It made no sense to Lucius Malfoy, who — obviously — followed Salazar Slytherin's ideals. As much as he hated to admit, half-bloods getting accepted into Hogwarts made sense. They at least had some magical blood in them. Muggles, however, had none. Not one speck. So how should they get accepted into the same school as all the other purebloods? In his eyes, they had to right to even be in the same building as purebloods. Especially not his son. His son, the somewhat infamous Draco, didn't deserve to be surrounded by them and their filth.
