river finished up his shower, drying off and taking a seat on their bed with a soft groan. heading downstairs, he made his way to the kitchen, making some tea.

marcella came out of the bathroom with a grumble. walking into the kitchen, she opened the freezer and pulled out a package of andes mints. she popped the chocolate-mint combo into her mouth. “could i have a cup?” she asked.

river glanced over to marcella, watching her quietly. "yeah. are you okay?" he questioned, grabbing another mug and pouring the tea into both. "cream and sugar? or no?" he asked, moving to the fridge.

marcella nodded. “i’m fine… i’m just kind of shocked.” she admitted. “and scared.” she nodded. “cream and sugar.” she said. “i’ll be on the couch.”

river sighed softly, mixing in the cream and sugar for her before bringing the mugs to the living room, placing them on the coffee table before taking a seat beside marcella, gently placing his hand on her knee. "it'll turn out okay, okay? we can talk to whoever about seeing how you can do your tests."

marcella nodded. “school is just so stressful. i don’t want to risk the baby’s health.” she sighed, taking the mug in her hands and sipping it. “and i have wanted a baby, since the twins were all born, but it just wasn’t the right time.”

river listened carefully to marcella, kissing the top of her head. "yeah, you shouldn't be going through so much stress, anyways.' he pointed out with a sigh, gently rubbing her back. "we'll figure something out. we always do."

marcella sipped the tea. “i’m sorry, river.” she said, starting to tear up again. she placed her tea on the coffee table as asher came running to her. she scooped him up and cried into his fur.

river frowned at marcella's words, pulling her and asher into his chest and kissing the top of her head. "don't be sorry, beautiful. i'm sorry i was mad." he murmured sadly, rubbing her back once more.

marcella sighed and kissed him. “i’m taking school off tomorrow.” she stated, curling up on his lap and rubbing her small midsection.
