Separated || Semi-lit Dog & Wolf RP || Open and Accepting

In a secluded land is a large forest, so large in fact, that any creature who dare attempt traveling to it's edge may end up wandering for it's entire lifetime, without ever reaching it. This forest is entirely uninhabited... That is, by humans. Indeed the forest is filled with creatures of all types however, this story is not about them but about two groups of animals in particular. A pack of wolves and a pack of dogs, yes, ex-domestic dogs. You see, a long while ago a group of strays found the forest, they migrated for generations until they reached the near center and settled there for good. However the wolves who already inhabited a nearby territory were not pleased about the newcomers. For a long time they rivaled, eventually creating a war. They thought of strategies for how to make the other fall. Eventually the Betas fell and the alphas dueled. Only the alpha male of the winning pack survived. The losing pack were grief-stricken and enraged by the death of their leaders, causing them to gang up and attack the last Alpha. Eventually the two packs made amends and slowly they grow closer. The new Alpha and Beta for each pack has not yet been chosen. There are many that wish to fill the roles and the most fit are yet to be decided.
Currently the two packs are on neutral terms. They keep their separate ways, still meeting from time to time. Each have agreed that the pairing of a wolf and a dog be forbidden, now the waterfall separates the two packs.
Who will be the one to risk breaking the law for the one they love?

All ranks can be fought for. Both people must agree the winner beforehand.

Alpha pair
They are the leaders of a pack.
The rank of Alpha is usually passed down to their pups when they pass away or retire. The rank may also be the Beta or in lack of Beta or Alpha's pups, chosen by the pack.

Generally if there is only one Alpha it is a male. However there are circumstances where a female may be the sole Alpha: If her mate is killed, she will remain the only Alpha until finding another mate. If she is founder of the pack, if she is a Beta without a mate or if she is chosen as Alpha by the pack.

Beta pair
They are second in command to Alpha.
Like the Alpha, the rank of Beta is generally passed down to their pups, the Alpha's pups, chosen by the Alpha or if lacking the aforementioned, by the pack.

Their in charge when the Alpha is away or otherwise unavailable. They have almost all privileges as the Alpha, but cannot make any very large decisions about the pack unless the Alpha gives permission or is absolutely unable to do it themselves. They also train whoever is to become the next Beta or Alpha.

Elders
They are the ones who are 8 years or older.
They're the ones who have retired or are otherwise unable to continue the duty of their previous rank. The elders are the wisest of the pack and are the ones the Alphas and Betas seek for advice.

Healers
They are the ones trained in medicine and nursing.
Healers are of great importance to the pack. They take care of the elders and anyone injured, even an outsider or someone from another pack.

Fighters
They're the ones skilled and heavily trained to fight.
If there's a war they are the first wolves sent to battle. (Scouts and Hunters --in that order-- also fight, but only to replace injured/killed fighters or if they're are outnumbered.) They join group patrols, guard pack members if asked and train soon-to-be fighters.

Scouts
The scouts are the patrollers and message carriers.
They go through the pack territory to make sure there aren't any canines from outside the pack. They also are in charge of sending messages from the Alpha or Beta of the pack to the Alpha or Beta of the other. Scouts have the knowledge to fight if needed, but generally it's the fighters job to guard. if it is known that there is an outsider in the territory that needs to be located or someone's missing, there is generally a group-patrol held that includes a few fighters. It is the lead Scout who leads and organises these group patrols.

Mothers
These are pregnant or nursing mothers.
They have their own dens for the raising of the pups. Nursing mothers remain mostly in the den except to eat or drink. As soon as the pups are weaned, they continue the duties of their rank. Once the pups are weaned, the mothers still raise and are the main caretakers of them until the pups have reached personal maturity at 8-14 months.

Caretakers
These are the sitters of pups.
They take care of the pups in absence of their mother. Whether she is off doing her duties or has passed away. The caretakers are also generally the ones to become the adoptive parent of an orphan or abandoned pup. Whether the pup was born in the pack, or otherwise.

Pups
The ones who are under 12 months of age.
Anyone younger than 12 months is considered a pup, regardless of maturity or size. Pups cannot speak more than a yelp or whimper until 20-24 days old. Pups are weaned at 8-10 (1-2 months) weeks. Pups are not capable of hunting until 3-5 months. Pups begin training for their future rank at 6 months and gain their rank at 12 months.

Kimchi had gone out hunting early in the morning before anyone had woken up, not even the sun. She was always one to try get as much food for the winter stash, especially in the later months. But that was not why she had gotten up so early, well not entirely. The best hunting grounds in the area were common-land, any wolf or dog could go hunt there at any time. So she wanted to get there before any dogs caught most of the good prey. After getting a decent amount of jack rabbit meat --for this time of year anyway-- Kim went and dug up the winter store and threw most of it in. She had kept only a little, because though she was hungry, she wanted to save as much as possible for the harsh winters. Once the meat was buried once more, she went off to the stream for a drink.

Kim wasn't very thrilled about having to go to the stream, as it was the only thing separating the two packs, so it too was common land. However she had to admit, it was generally very peaceful and beautiful. Suddenly she felt very calm and somewhat tired as she watched the leaves twirling in the wind. The stream was part of the waterfall and acted as a physical borderline between territories, which she thought somewhat idiotic as it was the only main place with running water to drink. She had walked along down the stream for a while and she sat down. The sound of the waterfall in the distant was soothing and Kim decided to rest for a while. Her eyes were drooping but she was still mostly alert, since this was the border.

Koda was wandering the territory, not really patrolling, more so looking for something to do, because his scouting shift didn't start until evening. He tried chasing leaves for a while, but that got tiring. He tried hunting, until he remembered he was terrible at it. Finally Koda just went to the lake for a swim. Dipping one of his white paws into the water, he quietly whined. Despite being a bred to swim in cold waters, his paws didn't seem to know that. Every other part of him was perfectly fine with cold and heat except his feet. Koda's paw pads had been very sensitive to things for a while now, but he never bothered anyone about it as he thought it wasn't very important. But it seemed as if they became worse and worse as days went. Still, he preferred shivering toes to being bored. He had forgotten how much he enjoyed swimming for he hadn't done it since mid-summer. Suddenly, Koda caught sight of a fish. He smirked and attempted to grab at it with his teeth, but to no avail. All he accomplished was to get a cold mouthful of water. Wading to land, he walked along the edge of the lake, determined to find that fish or at least a very similar one.

Keys was hiding about the border that separated the two packs. She enjoyed sneaking into the packs to watchh them do the "Pack business" that she found rather silly. Mostly she snuck into Potens because if she was ever caught she might actually pass as a pack member. However she did enjoy going into Vagantur now and then. Keys was a very bright, white so she was generally easy to spot unless there was snow. She however, rolled in dirt and mud before going into pack territory. It helped mask her scent and created the illusion that she was in fact agouti and white, not pure white. Dashing around silently, she spotte the camp. Backing away slowly, she hid in a bush as to watch for the wolves that hadn't gotten up yet.

The expirenced fighter had been awake for the past few hours, his damp fur clinging to his back before his pass rose before him and he was firmly standing up, his left ear twitched slightly as he caught the sounds of his fellow pack mates waking up, the brute then proceeded to dig his claws into the somewhat soft terrain and then he lowered his head; almost in a bow-like fashion, a pale cloud of dust, dirt and mud he had shook his fur in a non-desperate attempt to rid his ebony pelt of the grime. The head of this brute was lifted up once again and he pulled his class gently out of the grip of the earth before he laid down with his head proceeding to take its usual place I top of his stead paws which were spread out infront of him, his tail swayed softly and he greeted any passing pack members with a polite dip of his head.

Pim settled beneath the canopy of a large ash tree, despite the overcast that left everything dim and calm. He had set off out of camp only a short while ago, though he hadn't strayed too far due to his lingering drowsiness. He swayed his tail as a rat came into view, just beneath a mound of fallen bark. small clouds of dirt rose from the softly packed ground, and any dust lingering in the air quickly reached his snout, scaring off the rat in the process of his sneezing.

His tail went limp on the ground, all but the half curl of his tail, and he rubbed at his nose while the scattering of leaves became more distant, until it dispersed into a silent nothingness. He eased himself up, sighing through his nostrils loudly, for as quiet of a space he was in, and eased his front half forward, his front paws forming a small mass of dirt while he stretched. He'd expected to see an owl pellet sometime around from his scared off prey.

He slowly eased himself back up and began to pad forward, not deterred by his lacking of the element of surprise. He padded in a pattern between small trees and thick trunks, crossing worn paths and instead following claw marks he, as well as previous other scouts, had left on tree trunks. He came to a trot as he neared territorial boundaries, recognizing the echoed slosh of falling water. Not to mention the dampened earth beneath his pads, and the high humidity around this specific area.

His fur began to feel weighted the longer he stood here, so he trotted a little ways further down, enjoying the lazy slope that lead towards the waterfall's trail of running water. He stopped to inspect a large mound of sap sloping off the trunk of a pine.

He began to linger on the thought of winter's approach, and how late he was to actually begin storing anything for the onslaught of lacking in prey. He pushed off these thoughts though, and quickly invested in lowering himself down by the creek, twisting right and following the separating stream, resolving to patrolling(walking the scenic route more than anything) the border in the hopes of staving off his prodding thoughts.

Miakoda had an early start to the day. The nearly solid black she-wolf had woken up not too long after the sun graced the land that she called her home. With a silent yawn she pushed herself to her paws and stretched, cracking a few bones in the process. Mia padded out of her den and shook out her thin pelt before precariously eyeing the camp. After deeming everything normal she bounded out, headed for the densest, darkest part of the forest. For some reason, Miakoda has always liked dark, mysterious places as apposed to anything bright and sunny. 'Maybe it has something to do with the life you've led.' She thought bitterly before catching the scent of a squirrel. Her dark head jerked up towards the scent and her crystal eyes scanned the forest floor. Finally, she spotted the furry beast and with a wolfish grin she slipped low to the ground and crept silently to the rodent (?). Just before Miakoda sprang a shadow leapt from the brush ahead and claimed her prey as its own. Miakoda jumped up with a snarl and lashed her tail. "Who do you think you are?" She snapped and growled at the canine across from her.

Achak woke up later in the day than most of the other dogs, which is common for him in the warmer months. As he uncurled from his warm ball of sleep and was greeted by the slightly colder air he growled softly. "I am not ready for the cold." The short furred brute muttered before sighing and prancing out of his den. Achak stood tall as he walked through the camp, greeting multiple females with his signature cocky grin. Once he had felt he flirted enough the large Beauceron hopped atop a boulder and sat down with a yawn, his chocolate eyes scanning the camp and anything else within his eyesight. After sitting for a while he sighed once more, growing just a bit bored. 'What to do?' He wondered though he remained glued to his spot and alert for any possible danger or change.

The female's eyes were searching desperately for atleast some sort of editable prize, being a loner to most wolves meant that you were free and didn't have to obey any rules but to a loner who had been by herself since she was a few weeks old was now just a simple game of; don't watch your back and be killed, Aztec's breed was all that kept the other dogs like kookierhondjes and spaniels from fighting her, but if they did choose to act hostile against her then she would have slim chances of getting through, she was thin and weak, she was no loner in a position to hunt and she was slowly starving...
