At the back of his history class, Chase's head was rested in his palm as he dozed away. Every single day, he slept through almost all his classes, and he never turned in any homework. Usually, he'd have some smart alec reason as to why he didn't do it, or he'd just straight up say he didn't feel like it; either way, it would entice a few snickers of amusement from the rest of the class. How he kept his grades up enough to stay on the football team was a mystery; after all, football was probably the only thing he cared about. Well, after his popularity, and his status as being among the most popular in the school. Rainier was a small town, and everyone knew everyone; everybody at the school knew Chase Lennox's name, and he knew it.

"Lennox!"

Chase started awake as the teacher barked his name. "Yes, miss?" he muttered, rubbing the sleep out of his eyes.

"What did I just say?" the teacher glared daggers at him.

"Hmm... something about polynomials."

Cue uproarious laughter from the class. "We're in history, Chase."

"Right." Chase sat upright, grinning to himself as the laughter died down.

xxcharli blew a kiss to her driver. he was young and no doubt, attractive, but her dad had explicitly told her "no getting together with the driver". so that was a total bust. he knew her too well. she was late, as usual. for good reason, actually-she was buying a latte. at school, teachers seemed to let her tardies slip. they would just coincidentally "turn the other way". ahh...the perks of being liked. or maybe they were scared of her. hm. probably.
xxshe strolled into the hallways, heels clicking on the floor. she opened her locker-it was mostly filled up with her enormous assortment of cheerleading bows. you never knew what occasion it was. she'd gotten one of the school nerds to do her math homework (they would do anything to talk to someone cooler than the cafeteria lunch lady). she promised them mani-pedis, but when they brought it up charli just pretended she didn't know them. she checked her reflection in the mirror and then walked into class, smiled at the teacher and sat down, filing her nails. charli wasn't stupid; her sat scores had been way above average. so what was the point of actually paying attention in class?

Sporting his prized letter jacket, Bryan waltzed into the school like he owned the place (in a sense he did, but that was beside the point). Twenty minutes late, as per usual. Somehow, Bryan managed to get away with it. Every now and then he'd get a detention or two, but that was no sweat. Being a star quarterback in a town where football was religion, you pretty much got to do what you wanted.

Slipping into his class unnoticed by the teacher, his eyes scanned the twenty or so faces in the room before he spotted a pretty girl he hadn't spoken to before. He recognized her as one of the cheerleaders, and by all means, Bryan had to introduce himself. Flashing a charming grin, Bryan walked over to an empty desk beside her and took a seat, and turned to face her. "What's up, cutie?"

Emma felt like leaving, she really did, it wouldn't be the first time she would've up and left while the teacher's talking and it probably won't be the last, she wasn't afraid of getting suspended or expelled, in fact, she'd probably wouldn't mind at all. Looking up at the clock she sighed. "another hour of this crap..." she whispered to herself Emma had no idea who she was even sitting beside that was soon changed when the teacher called on the boy beside her, apparently, his name was Lennox or so she thought. He was doing the same thing she was not paying attention after he sat down Emma spoke, "So, your name's Chase? That's interesting, I was wondering who the heck I was sitting beside. You’re pretty cute for someone who thinks we’re dealing with polynomials and not World War 2."
