.:LautnerLover:. wrote:Chris froze, drawing his hand smoothly from Arowin's. "I-I don't know if I'm ready," he admitted quietly, his hazel eyes brimming with shame. He took a step back, shaking his head to himself. "I love you, Arowin, and I love the Hood as well. But these years have been rough for me, and I have grown accustomed to life on my own. I'm don't want to give that up yet." This was only partially true- Chris was also afraid that the others would be angry with him, would think him a coward and a traitor. He couldn't face that yet- he wasn't fully stable. Chris pulled Arowin close again, worried that she would be hurt. "It's not you," he told her, his voice muffled by her hair. "I am just not myself right now." His heart broke as he thought of leaving her and he hugged her tighter, ignoring how his body erupted in flames. Suddenly an idea occured to him, and he spoke it aloud. "Will you meet me here, a few nights a week? So we can be together and get to know each other again?" Pitiful hope and longing filled his voice, and he went silent, waiting for a reply.
Stephan laughed heartily as Kyle pouted. The food smelled delicious, and he took a long sip of the bitter wine. "It went very well," he remarked, glad to be able to relax. He scratched the stubble on his chin thoughtfully, then removed his jacket and leaned back, watching his friend and cousin. "How was your evening?" he asked, smiling.
Rebecca smiled happily. "Busy as always but so far uneventful." she said with a shrug. She stood up as she heard Emerald call and hurried to the door. "Em we are here." she called out and noticed Frank. "Long time no se, I guess I will make place for one more." she said and walked back to the table. She set out another plate and filled another goblet with wine.
Kyle downed his juice quickly and then put the goblet on the table. He sat down in his chair which had a cusion placed on it so that he didn't feel so small at the table. He pulled his plate closer and started helping himself. He then looked around the room hoping to see Arowin had returned. He frowned and then turned to Stephan. "Where is Arra? She is usually back by now." he asked him.
Arrowin nodded. "I understand and I will come." she said softly and gave him a faint smile. Nothing could ruin her mood now, for years she thought him dead. She kissed him again and rested her head on his chest. "What could you have possibly been up to for five years?" she asked him looking into his brown eyes .
