Uploading pictures made by GIMP?

I've made a picture on GIMP which I want to upload but neither photobucket,imageshack or tinypic doesn't let me upload it whatever I do! Help anyone?

Save a copy of the image as JPG or something first, your web browser doesn't understand special formats like GIMP's native format (XCF) or Photoshop's native format (PSD).

I tried doing that,but I'm not sure if id id it right as it still doesn't let me upload it,is this how you do it?:

File > Save a copy > JPEG image (*.jpg, ,*.jpeg, *.jpe) > Save?

Yep, then upload that .jpg file that you saved (not your original .xcf).
