I’m a little worried I might have been misinformed. I was told this site was pretty active when it came to the forums, but it feels really slow. I’m not seeing many writers around or much activity unless I’m maybe looking in the wrong sections?

the most active parts of the forum are: forum games, CS trade forums, and art forums. the trade scene is very heavy and so are the art forums, specifically user-made adoptables!

i don't frequent the roleplay or writing forums like i used to so I can't say for sure.

Yes, I’m mostly looking into role play and writing with others, but even that seems to be a bit slow-paced.

Compared to some other sites that I've been on recently, I do think CS's roleplay forums are more active, but sadly it's not like it was in its heyday. I've struggled to find active roleplay scenes myself ;a;

CS is a space for children. This means all roleplays needs to be child appropriate. A lot of "tame" scenarios, imo, need to be "fade to black" aka not written about at all. Evil characters can only be portrayed very minimally. I'm a writer and avid roleplayer, but cs is not the space for me to feel comfortable roleplaying. I meet writers on cs and then take it to discord where there is infinitely more freedom. However, I am happy there is a space on the internet specifically tailored to the kiddos! Just not the place for my writing haha.

If you're looking for fellow writers, many of them are in the closed species scene since species provide arpg elements, worldbuilding, etc. I'd recommend joining a cs species linked discord. You're far more likely to run into writers/roleplayers that way. I'm personally in Wild Mountain Equids and Fables If you don't care to write animals, don't worry, both species allow for portraying your oc as human.
