Items When Trading?

When you trade a pet, do the items go with it or do they wander back into your inventory?

If you trade a pet with items on the items will not get traded, they just go back to the inventory^^.

In fact, when you're trading the pets are displayed without any items on them at all, just so you can see exactly what it is that will be traded
