a new species has recently been found! they have
been named "sleepies" by the researcher who found
the first one: parker. they are a semi-open species
that have a lot of mysteries to them since they have
just been discovered! sleepies are scared of humans
and have always kept out of sight, but recently a few
have been appearing in front of humans who they feel
are kind, making their existence known for
the first time.

as researchers, it is our job to look into these unique
creatures and see what we can learn about them
and, perhaps, if we listen and continue to be kind
we can learn something from them as well.

rules

1. all CS rules apply when posting, making designs, discussing sleepies, etc.
2. you can make your own sleepie at any time!

keep in mind this is a SEMI-OPEN species. making your own sleepie without a MYO or by other official means will cause the sleepie you created to not have the ability to breed, go researching, participate in the sleepie community, etc.

think of it as creating non-canon fanart for sleepies!

3. do not remove signatures on the lines or claim sleepies as your own. please credit artists and/or me at all times.
4. sleepies can be taken off CS, just link back to this thread and/or me.
5. no being negative or hateful in any sleepie spaces/threads. lets encourage each other to create and have fun!
6. breaking rules will result in strikes and possible banning from sleepies and any threads/spaces related to them.

strikes do not need to happen before being banned, depending on the offense.

7. any and all actions (using items, transferring sleepies, giving up ownership, submitting MYOs, etc.) must be reported to the "updates" thread so archivists can do their job!

there are a few exceptions:
- buying items in the shop will automatically update your inventory in the archive.
- befriending (for free or for charge) and adopting sleepies is done in the main thread and ownership is automatically recorded in the archive
- anything having to do with dating is posted in the dating thread, offspring is automatically added to the archive
- doing the research activity stays in the "do research" thread; any items/perks/information grained while researching updates the archive automatically

8. you can only register/make official one of your own sleepie design(s) per week.

keep in mind all sleebies obtained via befriending or adoption are registered automatically. so befriending/adopting a sleepie counts as registering/making official a sleepie. this rule is so that one person or group can not (even accidently) prevent newer members from obtaining sleepies! thanks for understanding! if you have suggestions for topics that sleepies should be themed after, colors you want to see, possible mutations, etc, feel free to post them in this thread or in the "species suggestions" channel on discord

Additionally, you may apply for more than one, but you can only actually win one. See the FAQ #6 for more info.

9. you are allowed to have someone else design a sleepie for you
10. no off base adopts; anything off base is considered fanart.
11. no stealing art/designs/using additional accounts/creating unfairness
12. if banned or non-responsive to important messaging for 6 months or more, all owned official sleepies owned will be rehomed (they will go to adopts and someone else gets the official rights)
13. everything related to sleepies, no matter where it is posted, must stay safe for work
14. each sleepie must have exactly one notable thing they "love" (for example, Dozy loves sleep)
15. no editing forms after submission

rules are subject to change based on the needs of the species' staff, members, and chicken smoothie as a whole.

Q: why are they called sleepies?

A: that can be answered with this journal entry!

Q: this is a lot... where should i start?

A: a good starting place is our quick guides. they summarize things how to do and/or participate in anything and everything that have to do with the sleepie species and community.

Q: what is a "semi-open" species? what do you mean by it?

A: semi-open means that the adopts are open to the public to make. since this is semi-open, that means that anyone can make them, but with some restrictions. the restrictions may be a little different from species to species, but sleepies allow anyone to make one at any time. however, to participate in the community and activities, you must register it with the archive. that can be done by making a post in updates. keep in mind that you can register/update a sleepie at any time!

Q: Can I use this as an OC/Sona?

A: Yeah! Just don't take credit for the lines, concept, or art/design if its not yours.

Q: now that I have items, how do I put them on my sleepie?

A: make a post in the updates thread! it can be filled out under "using an item".

Q: i know i can only get one sleepie per week, but can i enter for multiple?

A: yes! and how it will work is you'll be awarded whatever you win first, and if you are to win again, it will just be rerolled to someone else.

ex. you apply for litter 1, 2, and 3. you don't win litter 1, but you win for litter 2, you will then get what you applied for in litter 2. you also win for litter 3, but since it was rolled for after litter 2, your entry is void and there will be a reroll.

what order the litters are rolled for for doesn't matter (i.e. litter 2 could be rolled before litter 1, if the staff felt like it), so make sure to only apply for sleepies you actually want! (:

Q: i messed up my form, can i edit it?

A: no, send the staff a DM and we will work with you to reach a fair conclusion !

befriending sleepies can be free or have a cost! new sleepies and method
of acquiring will be announced prior to posting in the discord and in this thread.

releases can either be by raffle, where the same generator is
used for all rolls for fairness, or first come first serve.

litters are removed from this post and put into the archive only after
the end date is reached and results are publicly announced in this thread
OR all of the sleepies are claimed (depending on how the sleepies are
being given out).

be sure to check the "who can adopt" before entering for a chance
to befriend a sleepie(s).and don't edit the forms! its important for
tracking and i don't want anyone to fall through the cracks

remember that you can only register/make official one of your own sleepie design(s) per week ! (:

traits on sleepies are few, but distinct. any variation from the basic outlines are considered a mutation! mutations can happen to any sleepie, but can only happen if bought/befriended/adopted with the mutation or through breeding.

no official sleepies can be made with a mutation through MYOs.
