Volux are a small species of vulpine characterised by their great variation in
colours and traits. The high rate of genetic mutations has allowed this species to
thrive in environments ranging from deserts to rainforests, and even oceans.
In ancient times, they were believed to be descended from dragons.

Their sociability and playfulness make them popular pets, although they only
seem to bond with one human at a time.

Each volux carries a "hidden trait": breeding two volux with matching hidden traits
will result in some kits with different features, or unusual colouring! New traits are
still being discovered throughout the world, so pay close attention to events.

✧ Do not use the lines without my permission.

✦ You may create volux OCs if you credit me
with the species. They cannot be used officially unless
transferred to the lines (as a custom).

✦ Your account must be at least one month old to participate in

They may not be traded, gifted, or sold.
✧ Any in-progress events posts, customs, transfers, etc. will be cancelled.
In shared breedings, the other user(s) will receive all kits.

Five strikes will result in a ban.

Volux have changed their appearance a little since they were first
discovered. If you have a volux from any of our old threads, you can have them
updated to be used in V4.

For those with volux from V1, you can choose to also have a V2/3 base transfer.

Some volux made by previous artists have disappeared due to image hosting site issues.
If this affects any of your volux, you may have them replaced with an any-trait custom.
This means any combination of the lines found in the "traits" post!

Transfers are free.

To keep transfers manageable, the current limit is one per
user per month.

Volux are frequently found with specialised and unusual traits. While some
of these are population specific, others show up every few generations.

Litter traits are found from time to time in adoptable volux. They
will only be able to appear in kits if at least one parent has that trait visible.
Unique or custom line edits - such as in customs, events, or special litters -
are inherited in the same way, but are typically only released once.

Every volux carries a hidden trait. This is represented by the two-letter
symbol in their codedrop post. A volux will never show its hidden trait - this
can only be inherited by its kits. When two volux with the same hidden trait
breed, at least one kit will inherit it - so be sure to double check your pairings.
