I have been super interested in snake genetics and the beautiful colors and patterns that they have and I'd love to share some kind of the gene fun with you, so I created this forum game! In this game you will be able to collect, breed, purchase and sell your very own little danger noodles and try to create the prettiest and most amazing corn snakes the world has ever seen! Most of the information and pictures in this thread are based on the corn snake morph lexicon iansvivarium.com. It's awesome, go check it out!

Let's go herping guys!

Herping is a way for you to explore and watch the amazing reptile world. Go out and turn over a few rocks and if you're lucky enough you might catch a glimpse of a few rare bugs, spiders, lizards or even... a corn snake! Catch it and you can take it home with you! Who knows, maybe this corn snake will have hidden morphs or maybe you will even find a new morph?! It's worth a try!

Herping Rules

1. You may only go herping once every day (so after CS rollover you can go herping again)!
2. You found it, you keep it. And of course you take good care of it!
3. Even if you find nothing, it's always worth another try the next day!
4. Please make sure you fill out the form correctly!
5. Don't remove the code word please!

The incubator

Welcome to the incubator, this is the place where the morph magic happens! If you decide to breed two of your corn snakes you will get to keep or sell their beautiful offspring. Typically, a corn snake will lay up to 8 eggs, but that number can be higher or lower. Make sure to keep your eggs nice and warm so they can hatch happy and healthy!

Rules for using the incubator

1. You may breed up to 3 snake pairs every 24 hours.
2. Eggs hatch immediately and you can decide to either keep or sell the babies.
3. After a snake has been bred, you must wait 36 hours before it can breed again. This applies to both male and female corn snakes.
4. Make sure to fill out the form correctly!
5. Don't remove the codeword please!

Corn Snake Gene Game - Genetics Guide

This guide will let you know everything you need about certain genetics, their rarity, offspring mortality and value. Please note that some genes may work a bit different from the real world genes, but I tried to stay as close to realistic as possible. Below are some words you might need an explanation for:

phenotype ➟ the appearance of the snake.
genotype ➟ the genes of the snake.
dominant genes ➟ dominant genes always alter the appearance of a snake. they are depicted as capital letters.
recessive genes ➟ two of the same recessive gene must be available in order for a recessive gene to alter the appearance of a snake. if a snake only has one recessive gene it is called heterozygous for that gene. recessive genes are depicted as small letters.
het (heterozygous) ➟ if a snake is heterozygous for a certain recessive gene, it means it carries one part of the gene pair and can pass it on to offspring.
co-dominant genes ➟ co-dominant genes are genes that create a third different phenotype when paired together.
