welcome to The Silver Forest!

here, you won't find your typical rodents or deer, rather this odd
glittering land is home to dragons. only here can you befriend these
creatures, and discover beings previously unseen by any other. at
this center, you can adopt, breed, explore with, and genetically
engineer dragons of all sizes, designs, colors, and species. click
any of the links to the left to discover more about us.

all images and graphics, unless otherwise specified, were created by
and belong to minette.

not unlike most other adoption centers, we have rules here
that are reinforced by our staff. strikes and bans are given out
as seen fit if rules are repeatedly broken. strikes will go away
after time, while bans will (most likely) not. you are expected
to read these rules before using any thread associated with
The Silver Forest.

[ staff rules ]
> respect the community, you are no higher than anyone else
that frequents this center.
> staff members are allowed to enter for raffles as much as
other adopters, but artists are not allowed to try out for
dragons they made.
> artists should not use pure black, eye-burning colors, or
change the canvas size at all.
> you will receive one free custom upon joining the team.
> i reserve the right to revoke titles if i see abuse of power.

[ general rules ]
(if you are in a hurry, read just what is in bold.)
> art theft is absolutely not tolerated here.
> do not start fights or arguments with other users. if you feel you
are being treated unfairly or see an issue, contact minette.
> chatter/questions/concerns/etc. should be posted to the center's
discord. posting it here would be considered spam and worth a
warning or strike.
> do not pester, rush, or complain profusely to the staff about
production speed.
> this is a closed species, do not make your own.
> selling your dragons for off-center currency is not allowed
whatsoever. however, trading/selling for our currency is as long as
you get permission.
> do not edit the images of your dragons.
> there is a maximum of five customs per user.
> if i need new staff, i will as for applications. do not ask to be staff
if the applications are closed.
> if you are banned, i reserve the right to take away and rehome all
raffle-adopted dragons in your possession.

unlike other communities, dragons are classified by their
breed, not the rarity of their mutations. each basic species
has an equal chance to appear in clutches and pairings. each
species has unique, identifiable features, as well as variants
for both male and female genders.
in this post, you can see the different dragons available,
and read about them as a species. these dragons can
appear in clutches created by staff, as genetically modified
customs, and can be paired together in breedings.

gale dragon
female and male, respectively

the gale dragons are known for their lack of legs, and an
abundance of wings. gale dragons have thin bodies, and two
sets of wings, used for riding winds with ease. they can land
if they chose, and will slither like a snake along the ground.
other notable features are the feathers on their head and
butt, and their long, thin tails.

earthen dragon
male and female, respectively

the earthen dragons are characterized by their lack of wings and
muscular builds. they have long horns that resemble cattle's and two
spines on their back and one on their tail. the most notable features
are their long necks, and the tiny flower sprouts that grow out of
their skin.

blazing dragon
female and male, respectively

the blazing dragons can be mistaken for giant dogs, because of
their build and fluffy coats. they are also recognized by their ear-
like horns, feathery wings, and bushy tails. sometimes, when the
blazing dragon becomes overly excited or angry, it will be able to
light itself on fire for a short period of time.

tsunamic dragon
male and female, respectively

the tsunamic dragons live in any body of water that they can find.
they are equipped with gills on either side of their neck, and are able
to remain underwater without issue. they also have whiskers, fins,
and long tails (used to direct themselves while swimming).

looking to adopt a dragon? all raffle-type adoptions are
done here (though you can also receive dragons through
exploration, events, etc. as well). raffles are scheduled once
a week, with three-seven eggs per clutch. each adopter is
allotted one entry into each raffle, unless otherwise stated.
when filling out the adoption form, please remember to fill
everything in before posting, or your form will not be
counted into the raffle list. all winners are chosen fairly
with this website.

the market is where you can buy and sell items for your
dragons. to the right, you can see what items are currently
available and purchase them with coins if you wish. to avoid
hoarding, you may not purchase more than five of each item
per restock. if you no longer need an item, you can sell it
back to us for half of it's market value, or you can trade it
to another user via the discord server.

the currency for our market is coins. you can get them by
trading in chickensmoothie pets and items. if you wish to send
a trade for coins, use the transaction guide below. pets do
not have to be wishlist, but wishlist pets will receive double
the amount of coins. to check your balance, go to the bank.

omgsc-common: 5 coins
uncommon: 15 coins
rare: 35 coins
very rare: 90 coins
wishlist items: 20 coins each
c$: 10 coins each

all transactions should be sent via trade to minette.

pebbles
expands a breeding nest to accommodate one to three extra eggs.
single use only.

: 20 coins
in-stock: none

crystals
have different effects on offspring during breeding. silver insures
one or more offspring to be the typing of the users choice (parents
must carry the type). gold insures one or more offspring to be the
typing of the users choice (parents do not have to carry the type).
diamond adds any basic type into a nest for a 20% chance of
that type appearing in offspring. all are single use only.

switches the typing of one or both of the parents for breeding only.
effect fades away after a nest has hatched. single use only.

certificate
used to reserve one egg for the user from any nest upon request.
must be used before an egg has five or more entries. single use only.

exploring is a way to collect coins, items, and dragons without
having to pay for them. send any of your current dragons out
into the wild to search for treasures for you! if you don't yet
have any companions to send, you can search the wild your-
self, and have a higher chance of attracting a dragon to you.
additionally, you can also purchase items in the market to
assist you (or the dragon you send exploring) in finding new
companions.

exploring is : CLOSED

please remember that, if exploring is closed, you are not allowed
to post forms; you also may only go exploring once every five days.
you may not send dragons that are currently breeding, nor can you
breed a dragon until it returns from exploring. everything received
from exploring is randomly generated, and you can only increase
your chances any way other than assist items from the market.

inventory is where collected items are kept. when you receive
an item it will be stored here, and when you use an item it will
be taken away. if you are unsure of what an item is or does,
check this post. if you want to check your coin balance, go to
the bank. the inventory is updated as often as possible, but
there may be some delay during events.
