Welcome to The Vivarium Store Chain index, where you can find all the stores in our store chain, and some other related things. Our stores have only one thing in common, which is that they are vivariums. The very first store in our chain was the ant farm store, where you can get your own formicarium.

Here on the thread you can sometimes adopt some vivariums posted, made by store owners or people trying out making vivariums and gauging their success. If you are a member, you can also find a list of artists willing to help out on your thread.

*You may not claim The Vivarium Store name as yours and yours alone. You are merely a part of it, you do not own it.

*If you are found to be rude to other adoptable owners or users, or to no longer qualify for our chain, you will be removed from the list.

*You may not tell anyone else how to run their thread, even if they are part of The Vivarium Store chain.

*Spam, rudeness, or off-topic discussions are best kept somewhere else. Writing "Bump" or writing anything with the express purpose of bumping is also considered spam.

*Do not steal, edit or claim any vivariums posted here as your own if you have not made them.

*Do not mini-mod this thread what-so-ever. If any rules are broken, fuiuki will take care of it. Individual owners can answer questions relating to their threads however.

* Any vivariums adopted from this thread must be kept on CS, unless explicit permission has been given by the artist. If used on any other website than CS, you must link back to this thread.

The Vivarium Store: The store chain, the world and the lore

The Vivarium Store is a soon-to-be wide-spread store chain, that specialises in different vivariums. The founder of the chain was fascinated by all the different ways plant life, animals and fish can be kept in a habitat, and decided to open a store. After many years of research and exploring, several stores have been opened which each specialise in a certain type of vivarium, each with their special arrangement techinques.

Each store type has their own care-book, which details how to take care of the vivariums sold. They can be found in the stores, and describe things such as feeding, climate, life-cycles and how the store will deal with these things, and the orders they receive.

Each store deals with their vivariums in different ways. An example of this would be the AST, or Ant Suggestion Technology, which is utilized in the Ant Farm stores. This enables us to control the ants to a certain degree, which is used to make the ants dig special shaped rooms, move tiny furniture around and more. The Butterfly Jar stores utilize a similar technology called the BST, which works much in the same way as the AST. The details of these technologies are classified, and only disclosed to the employees of the stores.

What does it take to join this store chain?
To join, you must of course be willing to accept some conditions, but they are not many.
*Your store has to be an adoptable agency that matches the Wikipedia description on the first post. Most stores here will be creatures or items contained in jars or terrariums.
*Your store has to link back to here, and it must be clearly visible.


Does my store have to be like the others?
Your store does not have to be like anyone else's store, it is still yours and nobody in this chain has any say in how you run your thread. Anyone may give suggestions for how you can improve however.


Will my store have to be named The Vivarium Store?
No, of course not! Your store is your store, this is just a collection of stores with similar themes.


Can I use other stores' items/layouts/adopts?
No, you may not use anything that you have not gotten express permission to use. All site rules still apply.


Why have an entire thread for this?
It's easier than having a huge network of links to follow. If you want to find the stores, simply go here and find them.

Adoptable Vivariums

Here you can occasionally find someone has made a vivarium of some sort that you can adopt, without it being connected to any particular adoptable thread. Anyone is free to make a vivarium for adoption, and you do not have to be a part of the store chain. Please only adopt one per week.*

*This wait can be increased or decreased by the artist of a vivarium

Individual vivariums may have specific adoption rules set by the creator. They may also have several in stock occasionally.

Artists of adoptable vivariums have the right to decline an adoption or adopt their vivarium themselves.

Community Aquarium

This large aquarium is really empty... If you're an artist that makes fish, or run an adoptable thread with fish, you can submit a fish to swim around in this aquarium! But first, it needs to be decorated... can you help out?

First, what kind of substrate should it have? What colour, and how much in the aquarium? Substrate added!

Second, it needs some decorations. Do you have any decorations that would look nice in here? Or would you like to make some for it perhaps?

Third, it needs water! How much water, and should it be coloured or clear?

When these three steps are done, we can begin putting in fish! But if you want your fish in here, it needs to be at least of decent quality, which would mean no linearts with white pixels between the colours and lineart. Don't know if your fish would look good in here? Just send a PM and ask!

Keep in mind that few to no new items and fish will be made for this, but rather use your images!
