Here are my rescue tasks. Please no posting.
story wrote:This girl was born from a breeder and given as a gift to a family friend of the breeder's- she grew up on a horse farm and loves to roam around. Her tail was broken in an accident with some farm equipment as a youngster, but most of it was salvaged. Her slightly shorter tail doesn't seem to hinder her- she's always wagging it! After a few years on the farm, she was surrendered when the family moved and sold the property. The shelter staff have had an interesting time working with her headstrong personality. She is the perfect companion for someone who wants an adventurous trail buddy, but can get distracted very easily and go off on her own adventures. With some patience she'll become the perfect pet!

I had called in the local shelter to see if there were any dogs who would be a good fit for my ranch. They told me that they had a female Mastiff who would fit my description. I drove up to the shelter and when I walked inside, they had my girl waiting for me. She wagged her tail and started tugging on the worker's leash. I knelt down and got a huge slobbery kiss as I wrapped my arms around her. She stopped licking me for a minute and stared into my eyes. She had such an innocent and sweet look. Her eyes were filled with desperation and love. I stood up and looked her over to check and see if I saw any physical problems, but she was as healthy as an ox. The only thing that I noticed was her shorter tail but it was wagging so fast and didn't seem to bug her. I smiled and then wrapped my arms around her again and she nestled in my body. I stroked her body for a while then signed the paperwork and got my girl. When I took her leash, she started jumping and prancing around until we got to the car. When I climbed in, she sat on my lap in the driver's seat but I moved her over to shotgun and took her to the pet store to get her some new stuff.

When I arrived at the pet store, Ryn had her tongue hanging out and her tail wagging warp speed. We got out and I took her inside to get her some toys and stuff. She went straight for the toys. She sat down in front of this soft, blue elephant stuffed animal and gave me the puppy eyes stare. She pleaded me to get it for her so I threw it in the cart and then we continued shopping. I grabbed a few chew toys, bones, balls, treats, and food in bulk. She started drooling when she smelled the treats and food. I got her a navy blue collar with white polka dots and a couple bandannas. We then moved onto the next section and I let her pick out her bed. She laid down instantly on a soft, dark brown bed and demanded that I buy it for her. I threw that in the cart as well then checked out and loaded everything into the car. I opened a bag of treats then gave her a couple. She snuggled up with her elephant and licked it. When we got home, she carried her elephant gently and plopped onto the couch and wrapped her legs around her elephant. I wrapped a blanket around her and her elephant and she soon fell asleep. I climbed into bed but I heard her come into my room and lay down at my feet with her buddy. She fell asleep as I stroked her back and played with her soft ears.

On my ranch, I have tolters, WME, and equines of all types. I also have four Baltic Sled Dogs. My four dogs are always running around on the ranch so I hoped that they would get along. One of my dogs is very shy and has trust issues so I knew that they would probably not be friends. My two boys love to run and explore so I had hopes that they would become friends. I walked Ryn out to the barn to see my dogs and all of them greeted her warmly. Ryn looked so excited to see other dogs outside of a kennel. She became instant friends with my boy, Rory. Rory has a lot of energy and loves to run so I let them loose into the pasture with my horses. Ryn and Rory soon became inseparable. Rory used to be more of a loner and hung out with the horses more than the dogs but now he has a buddy to do everything with. They run with my horses for hours then, when they get tired, they pester Zavier, my other Baltic Sled dog and the three of them run together. My two other Baltics are my mellow girls and don't hang out with them much. One of my girls has a physical impairment and the other one is very shy. When Ryn is all tired out, she comes inside and lays on her bed next to my other four dogs' beds. Zada, my physically impaired dog, is most of the time laying on her bed and likes to relax. Ryn and Zada get along quite well when they're both tired. Ryn learned the hard way that you don't steal Zada's blanket unless you want a scolding and a nip. Ryn sometimes cuddles with Zada under Zada's soft blanket. They both enjoy each other's company.

Renegades by: X AmbassadorsFarryn loves to run and explore. There's a beautiful forest behind my ranch where I love to take trail rides and I take my dogs along. Ryn is a rebel and loves to run wild and free. She has a hard time coming home after these trail rides and I have to put a tracker collar on her and sometimes a long leash on her to make sure she doesn't wander off. Rory and Ryn love to wander off together, but my horses neigh when they get off too far. She loves to roll in the leaves and jump in the puddles. She absolutely loves to run free, and luckily, she always comes home. After a few times of losing her on a trail ride, I realized that she always comes home and doesn't mean any harm. She disappears for a few minutes then will pop out of the bushes soon. Rory follows her like her shadow. She loves having her partner in crime and so does he. My horses love to chase them when they are in their pasture. Rory and Ryn tease all of my tolters and spend most of their time with them because my other equines didn't connect with them. My tolters love running and playing with my dogs and connected instantly with Farryn.

Farryn is by no means a picky eater. She loves her food. She will eat anything that is placed in front of her. She loves all types of meats, fruits, and vegetables that are safe for dogs. The one thing she will not step near is seafood. She gets queasy and wants to vomit even from the smell of seafood. She has no allergies that I am aware of and she never gets sick of trying new food. She steals my food all of the time and after she steals a few bites, she scolds herself. But, she cannot stop her habit. I try to teach her not to steal my food but I think it's so funny and cute that she scolds herself. She loves vegetables and fruits. She eats very healthy and her dog food is all organic and healthy. She also doesn't over eat or under-eat. I make sure that she gets all of her necessary vitamins and she never seems to mind them. She doesn't show signs of food problems and doesn't protect her food when she eats around my other dogs. She actually shares her food when one of the other dogs is hungry. She is very caring for her family.

When I was a little pup, I lived on a huge horse ranch. I loved being with horses and the horses loved me. I always had friends and I rode on the horses' backs or chased them. One day, I was running with an Arabian foal, who was my best friend. Her name was Adira and she was the fastest foal on the ranch. I had a hard time keeping up with her and would always trip over my paws while trying to keep up with her or catch up to her. She would always stop once she realized that I was far behind her, then she would come back for me and I would lay on her back as she would walk slowly back to her stall. One day, we were playing as always and we decided to go run in between some older horses. We learned the hard way that older horses hate energetic youngsters. I almost got stepped on multiple times and Adira got heavily lectured and scolded. We continued to play and run around until we came up to the fence. We were playing tag and Adira was it so I ran under the fence, but I wasn't paying attention so I backed up into a horse trailer and just as the ranch hands were closing the trailer door, my tail got stuck in it and I yelped and screamed in agony and pain as loud as I could. The ranch hands didn't notice me until I yelped and immediately they opened the door and took me to my owners. My owners took my to the vet's and I blacked out when we got there. When I woke up, my tail wasn't as long and I didn't want to wag it. For several weeks, it was wrapped in bandages and I had to go to the vet's ever so often to get it checked out. The worst part about it all was that I could not play with Adira and I couldn't leave my kennel. I had so much energy and so much pain at the same time. It was torture.

Since Ryn was already potty trained and house trained, I had it easy. Also, I didn't have to teach her how to herd animals so the main focus of my training would be her headstrong personality. At first, I would reward her when she would wait for me at the door, or stay by my side. Then, I decided I would train her to track certain smells and to make sure my horses were safe when they were in the pasture. Sometimes, I have had coyotes attempt to kill my horses but luckily my ranch hands get to them quickly. Coyotes come out during the evening and early in the morning. I have also seen them on trail rides so I thought I would teach her to defend my horses. I coated a bag of flour in coyote scent, then I taught her to fight and kill whatever smells like coyotes. I would reward her when she would chew the bag up completely. Afterwards, she would roll in the flour and wag her tail so she enjoyed her training. I hoped that she would never have to fight a coyote because we put away the horses before the sun starts going down and we don't take them out until the sun has risen. One early morning, I walked outside with Ryn and she saw and smelled a coyote from afar she went into attack mode instantly. She did not engage in combat, but she did scare it off. Luckily none of my horses were out yet. After she scared off the coyote, I rewarded her with a large steak all to herself and a bag of flour to roll in. She was in heaven.

With Ryn's shorter tail, none of my dogs bug her or tease her. Due to all of the exercise she gets, she has mellowed out a lot when she is inside the house. She gets distracted very easily but we are working on that by having her focus on treats and tracking birds after they are shot. She is becoming a great dog for hunting. My ranch hands taught her how to track birds and retrieve them after they are shot. Occasionally she will have a slip up but that is rare. She is also becoming friends with Lajila, my very shy dog. They sometimes cuddle together and when Lajila is still hungry, Farryn gives her some of her food. Lajila appreciates her kindness and companionship because Lajila spends a lot of time with one horse, rather than with dogs. Sometimes they will play together or go hunting with the ranch hands because both are great tracker dogs and retrievers. During the day, my non-physically impaired dogs all go running with the horses, and by the end of the day, they all come in tired. This really helps mellow out Farryn and makes her less strong willed. Also, the ranch hands have trained her to become submissive to them and me. She is still her happy and energetic self.

The other day, I went to a horse ranch to see if there were any horses that would be a good fit for my ranch. Since the horse ranch was shutting down, I was hoping to take home a horse to prevent it from being sold to a factory or put into a rescue. I walked through the stables and I had brought Farryn along. We eventually walked into the Arabian horse stables and Ryn all of the sudden stopped in front of a mare's stall. Her name on the door said "Adira". The mare stuck her head out of the door and tried to lick Ryn. Ryn jumped up and started licking her face. I assumed that they were friends when Ryn lived on the horse ranch. I purchased the horse and while I was loading Adira into the trailer, Ryn tucked her tail under her and backed away from the trailer. I finally realized her one fear: horse trailers. Once we got back to my ranch, I unloaded Adira and took her out to the pasture with Ryn. They immediately ran off and started chasing each other. Ryn and Adira looked so happy to finally be together again. Most days, Adira and Ryn are together, unless Adira has training. Ryn's tongue is always hanging out and she looks so happy. Her tail won't stop wagging.
