silence is ringing in my ear.
        it's deafening.

i can hear it. can you?
        it's getting louder, and louder.

silence is ringing in my ear.
        it's deafening.

        it's too loud.
        it's not silence i'm hearing.

        it's guilt.

guilt is ringing in my ear.
        it's deafening.

        adventure/romance/action
( bolded means main, italic means sorta involved )

          || lost and found ||

It's 2006, and little six year old Aerwyna is on a cruise with her mother, father, and older brother. It's a pretty enjoyable cruise, and it'd been only two days in that Aerwyna decided it was the best cruise she'd ever been on. Even though it was her first, and very last cruise.

Everything goes tumbling down when the ship starts to sway, faster than usual. The room she's staying in with her family starts to be shaken; things start falling off the desks, the lights flickering. The commutation system beeps off, and a frantic voice informs everyone that the ship was sinking. Nobody said why, though.

Aerwyna is rushed out of her room, her mother and father pushing her along. Her father follows close behind, along with other panicking crowds. But it's too late. The extra boats are taken, leaving many others behind on the sinking ship. Her mother and father start to lose it, but Aerwyna is focused on something else. A delicate, yet soft voice was singing to her. She ran towards the railing, peering over the edge, in search of the voice's owner. But it seems as if she's the only one that can hear the voice. People were screaming, running, and yelling behind her.

"Jump, Aerwyna. Friend of the sea, jump," the voice called out, soothing her, trying to persude her to jump over. The voice ringed throughout Aerwyna's head, and she became mesmerized by the voice. She climbed over the railing, her eyes looking down at the water.

"Aerwyna, no! Don't!" Her brother, Ryan, called out behind her. But he was too late.

"I'll protect you," the voice called out, "Jump." Aerwyna was falling; she had jumped. She was too late to process what was happening when she hit the water. A pair of hands grabbed her, Aerwyna passing out.

          || Closed doors ||

I pulled on my arm, quietly cussing at the vending machine. Anger started to rush in my veins, making my elf ears visible. I cursed louder, trying to hide the ears. I couldn't show them in public, I'm at school afterall. I frowned, and my ears shrunk, returning to normal. Letting out a sigh, I tried to focus on my arm.

It was stuck. In the vending machine. Why? My snack that I PAID for got suck. So why not try to reach up and grab it? Dumb self, now I know why. I tugged on my arm, but it was no use. I glanced to my left, nobody was there. Groaning, I tossed a look towards my right. Standing there was a boy, who I seemed to recognize from one of my classes. His eyes were wide open, making me panic. Had he seen the ears? Are they still there? I panicked and tried to feel my ears, but only hurt myself in the process. Right. My arm was stuck, still.

"What?" I breathed, still trying to tug my arm out. Dang it. This was so embarrassing. I put my leg on the vending machine, and pulled at my arm. Still no luck. I groaned.

"Wow.." the boy gasped, holding his hand up to his mouth. I frowned, confused and worried. The hell was he wowing about? I sent him a confused glare, not bothering with the vending machine anymore.

"How can.." he started to choke, my eyes went wide, "one get their arm fully stuck in the vending machine?" He started to roar with laughter, holding his stomach. I scowled, no longer shocked. For a second there, I thought he had seen the ears. I let out a sigh of relief, but then went back to glaring at him.

"Shut up and come help me," I demanded, but he gave me a questionable look, "Or so help me I will scream that you shoved my arm in the vending machine." Threatening was one of my specialties. It works everytime, believe me. He laughed harder, making me jump back in response, only hurting my arm in the process. The hell is this guy's problem?

"How would they believe that I," He pointed to himself, still giggling, "an honor student, would do such a thing?" This only made him laugh harder, his face turning red. I grew angry, and felt my elf ears push my hair aside. My eyes widened, and I glanced at him for a second. He wasn't look, he was holding himself and looking at the ground, trying his hardest not to laugh. I scowled, but calmed myself down.

"Help. Me. Now," I demanded, still not giving up. He stood up, wiping his tears from laughing, his face only growing more amused. "What?" I growled.

"You're too cute to be taken seriously," he shook his head, "And, you didn't say 'please.' " I groaned, using my other hand to run it through my hair. There goes my pride. I let out a sigh.

"Pleasehelpme," I mumbled, speaking fast, averting my eyes to a trash can.

"What? Repeat that please, I didn't seem to hear," He teased, but walked closer. I shook my head, and sent him a deadly glare. I could call my pixie, but he's sleeping. I wouldn't want to wake him up. If I could've, I'm sure I wouldn't end up in this mess.

"Fine fine, stop glaring at me like that. It's scary," He muttered, walking closer. He lowered down at my level, placing his hands on both sides of my arms. It felt like he was burning me, but I didn't make any comment. Tugging at my arm, he finally freed it. That easily? What was I doing wrong? I stared at my arm in amazement; like I hadn't felt it for years. His hand was still on my arm. I stared at him confusedly.

"Your arm," he spoke, still looking down at my arm, "is it okay? There are bruises." He pulled down the sleeve, revealing bruises that were already forming. I tsk-ed, pulling my arm away, examining it up close. Ah, hell.

"You must've been there for awhile," His face strangely twisted, "huh?" He let out a loud laugh, his coughing-laughing fit starting again. I groaned, turning away, walking as fast as I can to get away from him.

"Hey - wait up!" He yelled after me. My eyes narrowed, and I picked up my pace, jogging down the stairs. I slipped, hearing an audible gasp.

            Damn it.

I took small steps, slowly with caution. My grip on the dagger tightened, but I kept my hands to my side, swaying everytime I stepped. The air was thick, and I wipped sweat off my forehead. Every step I took was soundless; the only sound to be heard was the music of night. Crickets played their song, fireflies zoomed past, frogs croaking. The moon was out, the stars my only light.

Pausing, I snapped my gaze to the right, yellow eyes meeting mine. I ran towards them, hearing my target flee. Stomping my right foot, tree roots raised, and an audible thud was heard along with a groan. I didn't waste a second, darting to my target, jumping and dodging roots. The yellow eyes were below me. Placing my left boot on it's shoulder, I held the dagger to it's throat. The shadow it castes only grew stronger, the only thing to be seen was the eyes.

"Let me go," spoke it, it's voice sounded like a hallow tree. It wasn't a plea, it wasn't begging for mercy. My eyes narrowed, hair curling and straightening. How dare it speak to me. I lowered my face to it's, feeling its cold breath. The creature gripped my arm, it's breath rapid.

"What are you doing?" It questioned, but instead of answering, I stared into it's eyes until it passed out. It's grip loosened. Slipping my arms under it's body, I lifted it on my back. The shadow it was cast had faded, and now the dirt road was visible.

Every step I took was soundless, the only sound to be heard was the music of night.

Walking down the path, he was oblivious and unaware of the heavy presence of another being following him. He had gotten lost, and his gait was quite uneasy. Tripping over a tree root, he groaned, his body feeling heavy. Suddenly, the air grew thick, and it became harder for him to breathe. Slowly, he stood on his own feet once again, but only to be stuck in awe. In front of him was a blue mist, like a cloud hovering in front of him. As the seconds past, the mist seemed to slowly form into a human frame.

"What are you doing - trespassing on my land?" It questioned, it's voice eerie. He began to shake, frightened by the presence in front of him. Clutching his bag of candy, he knew it was bad idea to go out on Halloween. He was told not to - that he was too old to trick or treat. If only he had listened.

"U-u-m, I'm l-lost," he managed to choke out. The air was making it harder for him to breathe, either that for his fright has growing, making him forget how to normally breathe and blink. Minutes felt like hours, neither of the two moving over speaking. An owl called over head, and as he looked up the only light was the moon, and of course, the bright blue mist in front of him. It was truly a mistake for him to go out tonight.

"There is no possible way for a human to enter this forest," It growled, but it was talking to itself. Yes, it was confused alright. How had this mere human wander into the Spooky Forest?

              ( To be continued ... )
