Spaghetti

Note: This story is completely fiction, and has nothing to do with my personal life in any way. I am not a boy, I do not have a little brother, and I like spaghetti. This is all my imagination.

I looked down at my plate of spaghetti on the dining table. I thought I told mom a billion times that I loathe Italian noodles, but she never seemed to care about me anyways. Why do I have spaghetti for dinner twice a week? That is a question you should ask my little brother, Joe.

Mom always care about him, not me. My life started to change from the beginning of his birth. I'm beggining to get less and less things that I desire, but whenever Joe asks for something, Mom or Dad always buy them for him, even if it is a way to childish toy that is not suitable to 7 year olds like him.

This year, Joe wanted to eat lots of spaghetti and become some sort of "Noodle King". He should have thought about me. I never liked noodles, or ketchup.

The way Joe eats spaghetti is irritating and disgusting. He starts LICKING the ketchup off. Usually I would back away from him, but now he likes to "present" him licking it to me. Gross I tell you, gross.

"Josh, want some spaghetti?" Reality hit me. Joe was staring at me, holding his fork, his sweater stained with ketchup. "No." I replied, "For the last time, I don't like spaghetti."

Joe looked at me, confused. "You never tried it." He whispered. That was a fact. I don't like spaghetti because it looks like orange injured earthworms, but I never really tasted it before. I would dump it all in the trash can before I could pick up the fork to try it. "Fine." I sighed, picking up the fork.

I spinned the fork in the spaghetti and watched it. Once, twice. I took the fork out. Spaghetti was wrapped around it, waiting for me to take a bite. "Are you sure this tastes delicious?" I asked Joe suspiciously. "Yes! For the thirteenth time, yes!" Joe was finishing his dinner by now. I scrunched my face. I didn't trust him, but I had to try. I took a bite.

It was... delicious. "I told you," Joe said, beaming at me, "we'll have spaghetti every night from now on."
