Someone Out There Waiting- Tenth Doctor Fanfic

Postby tricks » Mon Oct 13, 2014 2:39 am

Alright guys so this is a Doctor Who fanfic with the Tenth Doctor and Donna Noble. (Not a shipping fanfic, I only think of them as friends.) It is about after she has her mind wiped and her memories removed. Sorry for any inaccuracies. Please no critique, but I would LOVE comments. Well. Light critique is fine, but please be considerate c:

Doctor sat on the back steps of Donna Noble's house at midnight. Which would be found creepy by a lot of people, and did sound rather creepy, he had to admit. But it was the only way he could hear her or be close to her any more. They had never been anything more than friends, but there was an ache because she was gone. Losing a friend, your best friend, was hard, and he still took it apon himself to protect her. Surprisingly, she had never noticed he was there. Which was great,of course, but how do you not notice someone has been sitting outside your house every night for a year?? Bit of a scary thought. She was utterly unobservant, like always.

He was growing increasingly tired. What was wrong with him? He couldn't sleep here. The TARDIS was only a block away, he could go back, and if he woke up with Donna Noble looking at him...things would go terribly wrong. He lay back, resting his head against the top step. No....can't sleep..... sleep....bananas...Krilliatanes...Donna Noble? And before he knew it, the Time Lord was out.

Donna glared out the window, hands on her hips. It was early morning, and she was tired and annoyed. There was...a man on her porch! Probably some stupid drunk college student! He had his arm draped over his face, so she couldn't really tell what he looked like, but he was getting drool all over her porch steps. Yuck. She would have called the police, but the man was skinny as a toothpick and drooled for God's sake. She could handle him herself. She stormed onto the back porch. He was snoring away, utterly unaware, dew in his stupid spiky hair that he probably thought was cool.

She gave him a swift kick in the head. "OI! What're you doing?!" He tumbled off the steps and landed on the ground with a yelp. He continued to shield his face with his arm. "Look..had a rough night...sorry...mistake..." he muttered quickly in a thick Russian accent, turning away. He was acting weird, not letting her look at him like that, and he didn't look very Russian at all anyway. "So you think you can sleep on some lady's porch?! Get a motel, idiot!" He started to edge away, face shielded. "Sorry ma'am. Don't know what I was thinking," he muttered, sounding more irritated than regretful. "Sometimes I think I'm the only one with sense in this world!" she spat. She could see the edge of a smirk around his sleeve. "Far from it," he muttered. "Hey!" she said. He grinned, turning away. "So.." he said casually. "How are you doing?" Her eyes widened. "What the hell? Get off my property, I don't wanna talk wiv you!" He just smiled and started walking. "It seems you're doing fine," he said softly. Donna paused. For a moment, just by the sad little tone in his voice, she pitied him. She watched him leave the property, then she turned to go back in. She noticed a tiny slip of paper resting on the top step of the porch. There was something scrawled on it. She bent down and picked it up.
NO MATTER WHAT THINGS MIGHT SEEM LIKE, REMEMBER YOU HAVE A FRIEND SOMEWHERE OUT THERE IN THIS GREAT BIG UNIVERSE. DON'T FORGET THAT.
She blinked, then hurried off the steps. "Mister! MISTER! Did you leave this?" But he was already gone, gone without a trace. Her shoulders slumped as she tucked it back in her pocket. She felt a loss, like she had just realized that something in her life was missing. Had he been suggesting that he was her friend? Because he was pretty far from it. Anyway. Just some drunkard writing stupid notes...right?

I've never watched an episode of Dr. Who, but the amount of emotion that seemed to be bottled up in that small piece of writing made me smile.
I swear this is the first time a fanfic has done that to me.
Great job, hardly any spelling/punctuation/grammar mistakes.
      I like it ;3

I'm very interested and excited to see where you're going to take this. :)

Great Job Lucky! The part where he tried to distract himself with bananas made me smile. You are a great writer and I can't wait to read what you will write next. Keep up the great work!
