Pet Stories

Postby SilverDust144 » Sat Mar 17, 2012 3:06 pm

Hey and welcome to my thread. Please read everything here first so you know what's going on :)

I love to write short stories, books, poetry, songs, and so forth. Lately, I'vve found myself looking at my pets on here and I've been coming up with stories about them, or for them. Thanks to this, I thought I might as well share them and keep them in a place where I can come back and read them over and over again and the same with other people.

So I created this thread to post my stories along with the pet it belongs to. I should have at least one new one posted once a week. Feel free to comment on them or to talk to me about it and so forth. I love to hear what others think on my work so please feel free to comment! It helps me improve areas that I'm lacking in. I'll also be able to edit them when I can think of a way to improve them. :)

This thread isn't just for my stories! I want to encourage others to write stories about their pets too and share them here! I would love to read others stories about their pets. So please post your own stories and feel more then free to comment on mine or others!

So here are the rules for this thread so no toes get stepped on because I don't want to lose the thread.

Rules

1. Tess's rules apply!
2. No copying others work! If you want to use something PM them and get permission
3. Be respectful and polite when you comment and PM please
4. If you PM me to talk to me or PM someone else, please post a title saying Pet Stories so everyone knows what you're talking about.
5. No matter what, keep your posts clean! All ages are welcomed here so watch what you say please
6. Please either post a picture or a link to the pet so we can all see what they look like :)
7. NO SPAMING please!
8. Have fun!

There are the rules, not to bad and easy to follow.

All I ask is that you ENJOY and HAVE FUN :D

Pet's name: Maxamillion

Life on the Streets

San Fransisco was buzzing with cars and human beings. Maximillion stood in the shadows of an alley watching a man stride by. His eyes looked tired and filled with fear while his body was tense and ready to run away. Once the man past, Maximillion relaxed. A rumbeling came from his stomach and he wimpered sitting down and pawing at it. It was mid afternoon and the trashcans were filled with things that the humans had thrown out. "How can they throw out some of these things," Maximillion asked as his nose caught the scent of chicken from a trashcan right next to him in the alley. He got up and stood on his hind legs, resting his front paws on the trashcan carefully. Slowly, he work his lower jaw under the handle of the lid and took it off of the trashcan. The smell grew stronger and he nuzzled through some plastic bags until he uncovered a chicken leg that was only half eaten. Grabbing it gently between his teeth, he took it out and lowered himself back to the ground and satrted to chew on it. His stomach calmed as soon as the chicken hit it and his tail wagged happily. He was still hungry, but it wasn't as bad as it had been. Stretching, he shook out the dust from his fur that he had gained through the night and looked around. "Now that I had breakfast, I wonder what I should do. Maybe I can go for a swim and get rid of the grime on my coat," he thought to himself. Maximillion's coat was a golden bronze color, but thanks to no water or grooming, it looked like a light brown. He picked his way through the backstreets and alleys until he came to the center of the city where a park was. Slowly and carefully, he stepped out into the sunlight from an alley he had been in behind an old and tattered abandoned house. The park was filled with green grass, towering oak trees, a crystal clear pond, and a variety of flowers spread out here and there. Once he was sure there were no humans around, Maximillion took a few more steps, and then made a break for it. He sprinted towards the pond and leaped into the air over a park bench and into the water. Brown swirls rose up around him as he swam and his coat turned lighter as the water lifted the dirt off.

A teenage girl named Veronica was strolling through the trail that had Oaks lined against it right next to the pond. She spotted the golden dog swimming in the pond and she stopped in mid stride. Her eyes widened at how beautiful he was and her heart renched. Tears swelled up in her eyes and she smiled watching his graceful strokes and his tail wagging in the water. When the dog came out of the pond and started to shake his coat out he saw her. She immidiately dropped to her knee and watched him carefully. The dog seemed scared and she didn't want him to run.

Maximillion was frozen in place when he saw the human, but she caught his attention as well as struck fear in him. Something in him told him to come to the girl. Slowly, he started to take a step forward to her. His body was low to the ground and his tail between his legs showing her submission. A whimper rose in his throat and his eyes twinkled with longing.

Veronica smiled and opened her arms. The dog ran to her and she hugged him up into her arms. She burried her face into his wet fur and was as happy as she could be. The dream she had had since she was seven about having exactly a dog like this finally came true. This was her dog now and she knew it. She would give him a home and love him. Her heart belonged to him.

Maximillion's tail wagged hard for the first time since he had became a stray. He had finally found what he was searching for. There had always been a feeling of longing and searching, and those feelings tied in at that moment. He had found someone who loved him and a home he knew he would always have.

Pet's name: Midnight Swirl

Shooting to Earth

A few years back there used to be a star (more like a planet) called Midnight. Midnight wasn’t just any star though, it was home to puppies who had been born from the stars material. The puppies all have a pattern of stars in their fur and their eyes shine like the stars themselves, that’s where Midnight Swirl came from. He was just another puppy born from the star’s material. His tail wagged and stardust fell from it.

I remember the day everything happened. It was a normal day on the Midnight star. Midnight Swirl and his brothers played on the stardust that covered the entire star. The sky was a pinkish color above like it had always been and there were pink trees here and there. The pups lived on the energy from the star itself, so they didn’t need to eat anything. They were romping around with each other and Midnight Swirl had trapped one of his sisters on the ground and chewed on her ear lovingly. She yelped a little and snuffled when stardust got in her nose as she tried to paw Midnight off of her. Midnight laughed and rolled off of her with stardust covering him. His oldest brother pounded up to them and knocked Midnight a couple of inches away when they started to head-but each other. Both of them laughed knowing that this would be their life forever, together with no worry. You see, star pups are immortal! A rumbling came from the ground though, and the pups stopped their playing and starred at the ground beneath their feet. Midnight gave a yelp when the ground under him cracked and a hot gas shot up under his belly. Without warning, the ground cracked in a circle around him, and then hot gas sent him flying through the air and into space. Midnight held onto the piece of ground and yelped the entire journey. It took about an hour before a planet appeared. Quickly, Midnight fell to the planet, and soon learned from the strange critters he heard that the planet was called Earth. Getting up, Midnight shook himself out and looked around confused.

I, a teenage girl, was standing a few feet away when Midnight landed and I gasped. He turned and looked at me with frightened eyes and for some reason, I could hear his thoughts and he could hear mine! ~I’m not going to hurt you~ I thought to him.

~Who are you? What are you?~ he thought back to me.

~I’m Kiera and I’m a human being. What are you?~

~I’m Midnight Swirl and I’m a Star pup~ Midnight thought to me. He walked up to her and sniffed her. I seemed nice and harmless to him, and after a while of us talking to each other through our thoughts we learned to trust each other and became quick friends. Midnight’s tail wagged and he looked happily at me, but I could tell he was sad at loosing his home.

~Come on, you can live with me, I’ll just have to explain you somehow to everyone~ I thought to him and took him home with me.

Ever since then Midnight Swirl has never left my side and we’ve been together for a few years now. I love him and he loves me, we are inseparable. I told everyone that his coat is simply died and that he has a dusty tail, and no one has questioned him since we found out that his eyes can hypnotize people.

Pet's name: White Christmas

A Lonely Beginning

Every fairy has a Butterfly wolf for a pet. That was every fairy but me. That was, until I met White Christmas.

It was a year back when the snow had just fallen and covered the forest. You see, I’m a snow fairy, and winter is the only time I can come out and play, but the rest of the year, we snow fairies stay in our world and play with our pets, but I was lonely and had no pet to play with for the rest of the year. Butterfly wolves are born from the moment a butterfly lands on the nose of a wolf pup, and their coats and personalities depend on the season. That winter, a Butterfly Wolf was born with a whitish blue coat that gleamed like the fresh snow in the sun. The Butterfly wolves gathered around her and named her White Christmas and as the day progressed, they taught her how to fly and harness her powers over the snow. These Butterfly wolves were unclaimed, so they didn’t have fairy companions, but they all were waiting for the fairies to come and pick one of them out. After they taught White Christmas how to fly and use her powers, they lined up in a straight row with Aspen trees everywhere as the snow fairies with no companions approached to choose their companions. I was one of them.

The process of a fairy choosing their Butterfly Wolf companion is special. A fairy approaches a Butterfly Wolf and the Butterfly Wolf stands up. The two of them spread out their wings and check the patterns on them. If the patterns match, they know that they might be potential companions (Butterfly wolves’ wings are based on fairy wings). After they find out if their wings match or not, they step away from the line together and perform their heart dance (This is used to also find mates). A heart dance is a dance that the fairy or Butterfly Wolf already posses with no practice. It comes straight from the heart! If they are similar, or synchronized, the chance of them being companions greaten! The next step is to test their powers together. They’ll go away further from the others and choose a target. Together at the same time, they release their powers on the target. If their powers are the same or if they strengthen each other, then they are more then likely the perfect companions for one another, but there is one final step to this companionship test that truly decides if they are perfect for one another or not. The fairy and Butterfly Wolf turn to each other and raise their hand and paw to one another. They touch it together and a light surrounds their hand and paw. After that, if they are true companions, a link to one another’s minds is opened up. That’s when they know they are true companions.

White Christmas had heard of today and she was excited. There had been a hollow feeling in her since she was created and her eyes scanned all of the fairies. I myself was looking at the line of creatures with a disappointment. I had been to many of these line ups before and I knew the pattern of my wings like I know my hair color, and none of them seemed to have the pattern, but then my eyes rested on White Christmas and I was amazed. Her wings seemed to have the same loop in the center that mine did. I walked up to her and her eyes immediately looked into mine and I could see wonder and happiness in them. She spread out her wings like she had seen others do and I spread out mine. They were exactly the same. We smiled to each other and then walked away from the line up and went to where a tall Aspen was standing alone with other trees surrounding it as if they were taunting it’s loneliness. Standing together, we released a snow tornado together. Both of ours swirled with fury. Bits of white flakes were visible here and there and then our tornados merged together and created a raging storm. It hit the tree, but didn’t harm it as we had both worked together to turn the tornado into a little devil instead. Smiling, we went to a field and created a small patch where we could dance together. After preparation and breathing, the two of us performed a perfect, synchronized heart dance. Our eyes shone with happiness and then we turned to each other. Here came the real test I thought. I put my hand out flat towards her and White Christmas raised her paw slowly and pressed it gently against my hand. A soft white light surround and shaped our paw and hand, and small sparkling snowflakes surrounded the light. I felt a pop in my head and then I could feel White Christmas’s thoughts buzzing in my head, thoughts of happiness and the possible future if we were companions. Smiling, the two of us jumped up in joy and we walked away together.

Ever since then we have been playing games during the rest of the year, and when winter comes, we go to that lonely oak tree and keep it company.

This isn't written about one of my pets. This was written for a giveaway for a Marionate Puppy so please no copying!

Broken Wooded Heart

Puppet Master sighed as he peered around the curteins for the hundreth time that day. His wooden joints creeked as he moved restlessly. "I don't like these shows," he muttered to himself as Sebastion, the cruel human puppet master walked through his dressing room door and up to him.

"What was that dog?" he said in spit towards the magic Dog Puppet. He hated the puppet pet and wanted to get rid of him, but he made so much money off of the show that him and the puppet put on together he decided to keep him.

"Nothing master," Puppet Master said cowering to the ground afraid of being striked again with the white gloves of the master.

"Good! Oil your joints and make sure to keep your jaw loose so I can control it with no problem. These kids are expecting the show of a lifetime," Sebastion spat to him, growling and turning away. Puppet Master shuddered and looked around with sad, hollow expressioned and wooden eyes. His heart and spirit were slowly breaking with the shows that he was made to perform. Often he played the role of a stray who became a family dog, which was his dream, but it never came true and he knew it wouldn't. The curtain slowly rose and his strings grew taut as the master gained control over his wooden body.

Puppet Master trotted out onto the stage in front of the crowd of kids with his jaw semi-opened and his eyes with a hollow expression. This play was about a puppy who had been abandoned and then picked up by a dog fighter who fought him and beat him until his spirit was finally broken and he turned into a fighter. Puppet Master was that dog and he went through the play loosing a part of himself here and there. The play ended when a girl rescued him and saved his life from the last dog fight. Puppet Master bowed to the cheering crowd and then trotted back to the back stage.

The master came and dropped his strings next to him and glared. "Next time don't bow what so ever and follow the tug on your strings to more percise measures," Sebastion growled and took a white glove and smacked his nose, making him sneeze. Puppet Master coward again and he shook.

A girl had been standing by and watched in amazement as the puppet moved on his own, and then she flinched at the cruelness of the master. Her hands clenched into fists and she walked up to Puppet Master and patted him. "Are you ok there little one?" she asked in a gentle and kind voice.

"I'm fine," Puppet Master said, stunned at the girl's kindness.

"Good, I'm going to go and free you from this man, and then you are going to come home with me," she said with determination. She got up off of the knee she had been on and walked to the dressing room of Sebastion. She knocked and Sebastion poked his head out. "I want to buy your Puppet Pet off of you."

"He's not for sale," Sebastion said with venom.

"I'm going to buy him from you for a thousand dollars and that's final," she said shoving the money to him and then walking back to Puppet Master. "Let's go home," she said to him with a smile and picked his strings up, leading him gently to his new home. Puppet Master's tail wagged and her followed her greatfully. After a few weeks he had settled in and his dream of a good family had finally came true instead of being in a play.

Pet's name: Spread the Love

Run Over Start

It was a dark night and I was driving home from a late night at the office. My town was known for the owls that lived in the area. The owls had strange markings and feather coats on them that made them unique and odd in the world. No one know how they got that way, it was just how things were.

My thoughts were wrapped up from my work. I’m a veterinarian and I had sick animals at my hospital that I couldn’t figure out what was wrong with. When I thought of a small kitten who couldn’t eat, an owl came out of no where and hit my windshield to my Ford Escalade. Swerving, I went off the road and crashed into a phone pole.

Slowly I got out of my car and went back up onto the road and looked at the poor thing that had hit my windshield. The owl had rolled underneath the car and my tire had ran over its right wing. I knew there would be no chance for the owl’s survival, but I picked it up and put it in my car anyways. I slowly backed up back to the road and went home.

Once I reached my house I called my brother to come get the car and put in the shop, and then I took care of the owl. I patched her wings up (she turned out to a be a female) and made her a place to stay. She was unconscious while I proceeded to take care of her and seemed to have been very young. After a while I finally paid attention to her coat. She was amazingly colored with jet-black feathers. Her chest had a Spread the Love sign on it that was actually part of the coat. My mind was blown and I smiled. “When you come to, your name will be Spread the Love,” I said to her more as a croon then anything else. Gently, I placed her in the cage I had prepared for her and went to bed.

The next morning, I heard a screech and threw my eyes open. Grabbing something to defend myself with, I ran down the stairs and into the living room. Spread the Love was awake and she looked at me with curiosity and intelligence like no other. I smiled. “Hello there. Glad to see you’re awake. Are you hungry?” I asked her, walking over to a drawer in a dresser that was sitting next to her cage. I noticed that a tire track was burned permanently into her right wing and I shuddered with sadness.

“Yes I am hungry,” Spread the Love crooned to me. I nearly dropped everything as my eyes widened with shock and I spun around to face the cage.

“You can talk?!”

“Yes I can talk. It’s part of my species,” she said defending herself.

“Your species?” I asked confused. I had never heard of a species of owl that could talk.

“Yes. We owls who have different coats then others. We are unique and different from the ordinary owls that most of you humans see,” she said looking at me in outrage at how I couldn’t know about her species.

“But, I’ve never heard of you,” I stammered to her.

“That’s because we don’t talk around you humans. If we do, you would probably send us off to some lab and run tests on us because you wouldn’t be able to understand how and why we can talk.” She did have a very good point there.

“But then why are you talking to me?” I asked, still very confused.

“Because you saved my life, and I am grateful to you for it. Also, if you didn’t love animals, you wouldn’t have helped me, so I thought that my secrete might be safe with you,” she confided as her eyes turned a little sad. My heart was wrenched at the expression in her eyes and I smiled.

“Your secrete is more then safe with me,” I promised her. “Now how about some breakfast and then we can talk about you possibly staying here and keeping me company as well as maybe helping me figure out what’s wrong with some of the animals at my hospital since you animals can communicate with each other,” I said, bending down and grabbing the food I had dropped.

Spread the Love looked at me happily as I poured her a bowl of food. She started to eat and I grabbed myself a bowl of cereal and watched her. When she finished, she stretched out her good wing and looked at me. “I would love to stay here and help you,” she said with a small smile.

I smiled back to her and nodded. Ever since then I have had Spread the Love with me and no animal has left my hospital without being cured!
