XD You guys are really sweet. ^_^
Dear SJ,
So we arrived at Starbucks. Maro got out and opened my door for me.
As I was climbing out of the Camaro, he pulled me forward, gazing into my eyes.
My heart started racing like a cheetah. Oh, why couldn't it be Derek? But... Maro was just as good, right? Maybe better. At least
Maro didn't knock me out during training.
Anyways, he closed the passenger door and we walked into the cafe.
"I'll go find us a table," I said, leaving him as he took his place at the end of the line.
"Okay," Maro replied. "What do you want me to get you?"
I shrugged.
"Just get me a coffee. No sweeteners or anything."
He nodded and I padded to an empty table in the corner. It was right by the window, allowing enough light to probably see through my black coffee.
I sat down, wondering if Maro liked me the way I liked Derek. I had a feeling it was possible.
A few moments later, he camed back with coffee and a danish for me and the same thing for him; except his beverage was a cappuccino.
He sat down in the chair opposite from me and continued his gazing game from when we were in the parking lot.
"Maro... You keep staring at me. Is something wrong?" I asked, sipping my coffee carefully as to not burn my tongue off.
"Oh, I.... uh..." he stuttered. "It's nothing. You just remind me of somebody..."
I knew this was a total lie. I could tell Maro sucked at telling lies. His voice faltered and his red eyes darted to the lower left corner of his view. A sign he was lying indeed.
"Who do I remind you of, then?" I persisted. "Hopefully no one bad..."
"No! No no no, it's not like that. What I meant was... Oh, nevermind. How's that danish?"
I laughed at his failed attempt to change the subject.
"It's great, and you still haven't answered my question," I yipped.
Maro took a bite of his danish as if to keep himself from answering by having his mouth full.
"I'll tell you later," he replied after swallowing. He took a long sip from his cappuccino.
We ate the rest of our breakfast in silence.
Hey SJ, I gotta go for training now. Luckily I'm not paired with Derek, but Jerry this time. I'll tell you more later, okay?
