Pride is a very special mare, she loves pretty much everything but not always everyone but who really does like everyone, anyway pride has a strong heart figuratively and literally, she also is shy when it comes to the people she doesn't like but usually she is very up in your face and always wanting attention but she knows when she is needed and when she is not wanted, pride can be a little crazy but she knows how to control herself when need be, when pride is sad it's very sad cause it's hard to make her sad the only time when she is sad is when someone or something she cares about is hurting/ in pain or when something or someone she cares deeply about is taken from her

Pride gets along great with both of my tolters mostly Hult though probably because they are both girls and bullet can sometimes be a grump to others and maybe the fact that bullet is Hults sire might also be why but pride gets along with both of them maybe not all three of them together but when its two on two its fine lol

Why she's important:
A little over a year ago, I fell in love with my best friend. She's been my rock since 2013-2014 or so when we were first introduced to each other. Of course, at the time I realized my own feelings, I couldn't tell her, as we only knew each other over the internet (Though we had spoken via call on google hangouts once or twice) and she was currently in a relationship with another person. For about a year I never told her about my feelings, not wanting to make things awkward between us and wanting to be absolutely positive that how I felt was /truly/ what I thought it was. As it turns out, it was. One day we were messaging back and forth and she told me that she had broken up with her (At the time) boyfriend. I, being an overprotective little butt, overreacted a bit, thinking that he had broken up with her and getting rather pissed that some idiot could ever hurt someone as lovely as she was. She then clarified that it was her who had broken up with him. He was 'too clingy' she told me.

Now, I realized that after the long wait I could maybe- finally- have a chance. Telling her took all of my courage and a lot of encouragement from a few people who I'm honestly grateful to for keeping me from stopping myself (Mainly because at the time, I had assumed she was straight). I asked, awkwardly, if she would consider taking me on as a partner and she (to my great surprise, considering how clingy I actually am. And she knows this.) said yes. I broke down. I cried. I actually, legitimately shook from a mix of excitement, shock, and happiness. This was after a year of me just trying to make sure that what I was feeling was real and not just some stupid obsession. In all honesty, I was probably in a little bit a LOT of (good) emotional shock when I got her response. She's still with me somehow. I'm not sure how. and we've been together, albeit long distance, since oct. 17th 2016. We're hoping to have our first 'in real life' meeting soon so we can go on a proper date. She was already one of the most precious people in the world to me before we got together, but now she's so much more than that. Every time I take a look at the screenshots I took of our conversation that day (which I do actually have stored away), I'm reminded of how lucky I am that she was willing to get into a relationship with someone as flawed and awkward and extremely annoying as myself. She is my sunshine, my stability, my spark. And she makes me happy just by existing.
Her animal companion: Laurel's companion is a small Icelandic Sheepdog puppy named Figit (The blue merle). She and this puppy have a close bond and often sleep together in the same stall. It's not uncommon to see Figit balancing on the lovely mare's back out in the pasture.

Personality: Laurel is a rather shy, forgetful, cuddly mare. She loves physical contact and will willingly lean or lay against other tolters she's close to or her favorite human, the stable owner. She easily forgets commands and tricks if not taught thoroughly enough but always seems to feel a little bad when she does. Laurel is a little skittish around both new horses and humans alike, but friendly and gentle enough when she's seen them often. The chimeric is also extremely fond of domesticated cats and dogs, so she gets very excited to meet a new one and will always lower her head to greet them. She's also usually eager to help and is extremely intelligent despite how forgetful she can be. Laurel is always willing to be there and comfort those close to her who need it. She has a weakness for foals and loves helping to take care of them when she gets the chance. She's also rather adventurous and revels in going out on long trail rides with the stable owner and some of the other cross country horses. She always finds staying out in the woods to be a fun change of pace from the enclosed pastures and cozy barns.
Pasture Buddies:
Clocker: The lead mare in the pasture. Has a similar interest in the things those humans watch on TV and books as the chimeric and they usually hang out to stare through the window at the TV in the staff room just off the pasture.
Missouri: One of the first mares to help Laurel settle down during her first few days at the stable and Laurel's first cuddle buddy. The chimeric finds the other young mare soothing and will often stay close to her when nervous.
Argentum: Her show companion! Both mares are often exercised together and compete in team events together. Argentum sometimes quietly flirts with the other mare but it never goes far.
Aisling: The cuddle buddy- Laurel will often spend winter nights standing or laying with the other mare in an extra large joined stall or out in the open, she doesn't mind the fact that Aisling is deaf.
Muse: Laurel's story-buddy. The pair often spend hot afternoons underneath one of the large trees in the pasture coming up with new stories to tell to the foals.
Titania: A sort of play buddy. They are around the same age and will often race each other around the pasture for entertainment.
Aysel: An older mare, one of the younger chimeric's teachers and confidants.
Asche: Another older mare, a surrogate mother of sorts to the chimeric. They will spend hours grooming each other or wallowing in the deep creek that runs through their pasture.
Story:
It had been months since a new horse had arrived at Helix. The night was dark and cloudy, with the occasional flash of lightning and rumble of thunder off in the distance. A trailer rolled into the drive, the horse inside an anniversary gift from the owner's lover, who was unable to be there that night. The mare had had to travel a few states over to reach her new home, but she was patient. Excited- yes- but patient. Her silken muzzle poked out of the barred window to breathe in the rain scented, static charged air. The distinct smells of many different horses mixed faintly, diluted by the rain earlier in the day. The owner herself came to lead the chimeric out, unclipping the lead rope and loosely holding onto the halter. She hummed the mare's name, "Laurel~ Let's get you to your new housing..."

Laurel was lead to a large barn, the lights inside giving off a gentle glow through the windows and underneath the large doors that made up the entrance. The soft shuffling of hooves on straw and bedding one of the few sounds coming from within. The mare stepped nervously, moving from side to side and weaving a little bit as the owner unlocked the barn door and finally let her in. Laurel's halter was slipped gently from her head and hung carefully on a golden hook in a cabinet with the halters of the others. Laurel turned and watched as the owner slipped out of the barn, locking the door behind herself again as she left. She turned back as the sweet scent of not one or two, but eight other mares filled her nose. The small herd watched her, mostly spread out across the open, stall-less area. The first to approach was a silvery pintaloosa with a rather dominant, protective air about her. She introduced herself as the lead mare, and noted that her name was Clocker. The introductions from the seven others came rather fast after that, leaving poor Laurel a bit confused and unable to remember everything. Many of the others dispersed after that, but one mare stayed with the chimeric.

"Hi." The blue roan's voice was soft and gentle, and Laurel turned her ears and eyes to her. "My name is Missouri. You seemed a little overwhelmed and I thought you might want some quieter company," her ears twitched, "it also seemed like I should reintroduce myself so you can actually remember my name." The new mare shuffled her hooves and dipped her head slightly in response, "I'm Laurel." She found herself being gently herded to a far corner, where a rather small, pale colored mare laid in the straw. Laurel required some coaxing but eventually laid down nearby in the quiet, mostly mostly empty section. She nearly startled and got up when the blue roan laid down heavily beside her and went to sleep, but she quickly closed her eyes and laid her head across Missouri's back, exhaustion from her long trip taking hold.

Laurel took a few weeks to really manage to settle down and feel comfortable in her new herd, but when she did she quickly found herself surrounded by care and companionship stemming from all eight other mares. She discovered Clocker had the same interest in the owner's books and the TV as she did, and that she knew where they could view the groom's TV without too much issue. She and Muse could come up with stories for hours, planning to tell them to any new foals who might arrive at the stable. Missouri was still her first friend, and Laurel would happily spend the chillier nights sandwiched between the roan and Aisling, who despite being deaf and difficult to communicate with proved to be just as into cuddling and physical contact as Laurel herself. Laurel also quickly found herself taken under the wings of the two eldest mares in the pasture, Aysel and Asche, to be taught about how Helix worked.
For the first week or so after she'd gotten truly comfortable, Laurel spent most of her pasture time playing with Titania, who despite being rather air headed and entitled happened to be a decent playmate, but after that she found herself being put to work training in dressage alongside Argentum. Argentum seemed to be rather shy but Laurel often found that the grey mare would quietly flirt with her, though the chimeric only realized that after Missouri pointed it out. She never particularly minds it, though she feels that Argentum just isn't quite the right mare for her.
Likes:
Dogs, cats, foals, being read to, watching TV through the window of the grooms' break room, those ice cream treats owner special makes exclusively in the summer, cuddling, coming up with stories, the smell of freshly baked foods from the main house, shiny metal things, getting a thorough grooming
Dislikes:
Being suddenly approached or petted by strangers, being expected to remember something that's only been mentioned to her once or twice, accidentally forgetting something important, being overly busy, boredom

Personality:
Sethos at first will give the impression of a stoic, cunning, cold-hearted stallion. One who knows no fear, a brave horse that doesn't show mercy in fights. However, under that tough and intimidating exterior lies a far more interesting stallion. Sethos is actually a very friendly stallion, it's just that his intimidating looks deter others from interacting with him. He is quite a sharp-witted and smart stallion, often silently analysing before taking action. He is also fiercely protective of friends and family and would take a bullet for them if needed.
In competitions, this stallion changes as well. Sethos is determined, competitive and ambitious. He always have a goal in his mind that he is very determined to achieve. Sethos excels in jockey and demonstrates great sportsmanship when in competition.
Sethos hates to admit it but he is particularly shy around mares. He doesn't know why but every time he interacts with any mare, be it riding next to her or simply talking, he becomes a flustered teenage and would constantly fumble on his words. Despite this, some find it adorable.

His best friend:

Sethos gets along best with his childhood buddy, his partner in crime, his brother from another mother, his compadre or whatever you would call it. Aslan was a rescued horse and had gone through tough times. The two met when they were adolescents when Aslan was just going through halter breaking. Sethos was there every step of the way, cheering Aslan on and always having his back. After Aslan was finally comfortable with tack and became a jockey competitor, the two hit it off. They were competing around the dirt track time after time to the point that there's no set winner cause it was different everytime. Some days Aslan would win, some days Sethos would win and it would be balanced. However, both liked it that way and they always had something to joke or talk about. They could just ramble on and on for hours.

His worst enemy:

Sethos' worst enemy is himself. Why? He hates that he's just like that. Others may see him as the new rising star, a perfect Khim and all but deep down, Sethos doesn't think he's even close to perfect. He hates that he can be such a perfectionist. While it is good, it can be bad as well. Whenever he doesn't do well, he'll scold himself and practically have internal conflicts with himself. On those days, he'll always be standing at a corner brooding.

What he looks for in a mate:
Sethos would like an honest, sincere and down-to-earth mare who accepts and love him for him. He wants someone he could go on trail rides, pull a carriage and enjoy some downtime with. He doesn't really like a quiet introvert nor does he like a very loud one, an in between would be the best for him. Sethos would like someone who wouldn't mind deep-talking with. Most of all, he would want someone who can be his anchor when he's overthinking and stressing himself out.

Companion:
Sethos has a small songbird companion, Jay. Jay would always be amongst the trees at the pasture singing and chirping pretty little melodies. Sethos finds it extremely relaxing and soothing whenever he's too lost in his own thoughts. Jay also doesn't mind Sethos' company and would sometimes perch on the top of his head or on his rump.
